Correct. It is super easy to manually back up your saves though. I just create a shortcut to the save directory on my desktop they just copy the file from the directory to your desktop. This is obviously not as convenient as auto backup but better than nothing...
This is the best starter advice, imo. It's one thing to cheese the dragon in Demon's Souls/random shit in the other games but the Drake Sword should be called "The Crutch." It's fun to kill him for shits and giggles and the temporary boost but new people might get the wrong impression of the game because of how boring and weak it eventually becomes.
Some guy invaded me, broke my equipment, cursed me, and infected me with an egg with some fire attack. I'm turning off the online mode.

If a hacker wrecks your character save via an exploit, it will wreck your cloud save as well. This is why manual backups are so important.
Hmm, did they add a "favourites" for character creations like in DS3 and Bloodborne?
Only very "fantasy" spiders, no "realistic" ones in this one like in DS2 and Bloodborne.

Some of those "reviews" are really ludicrous. Calling it a piece of garbage created to steal fans' money. Wow, the sense of entitlement of some gamers is off scale. All because instead of a free upgrade they only got a 50% discount.
The community forum on Steam is even worse, with people cheering for the hacker who is ruining multiplayer for everyone else. Donating money so he can re-buy the game if he gets banned. The level of immaturity and saltyness this release has brought up is unbelievably sad.

Yup. This has only happened to me a couple times but I always keep a manual backup just in case...
rang the first bell .-) the fire is rekindled, i am enjoying the game, hehe... (but still, it ain´t no Demon´s Souls, the atmosphere is so much better there, Sony should really bring it back that more people experience the supremeness of this game)
I have 1000+ hours played on PC and I have only encountered a handful of hackers/cheaters but a couple of them were pretty nasty. I was once punched by an invader which cursed me, broke every single equippable item in my inventory then teleported me to the middle of Ash Lake to fall to my death. I always keep a manual backup of my save just in case...

I used Drake to help learn gameplay, since I sucked terribly. Eventually gave up and decided to use a Black Knight sword. Night and day, man.
The new lighting (I think) is making the pyromancer pants (Heavy boots) look weird. Looks like it's zelda cel shaded or something
I really want to buy this but I'm worried about cheaters messing up my game, is there a guide to making manual save backups? Will you still be softbanned even if you use that? Does the Steam version have the day one patch already?
To backup you just need to copy the file in documents\nbgi\DARK SOULS REMASTERED to anywhere. It's hard to know about day one patches on Steam because it downloads everything in one go instead of downloading the base games and the patches later on.
Can you hear it from everywhere, and do they sound different? One of the bells were ringing off the hook when I was in Firelink last night.
Don't know why, but this has got me super excited for the PS4 version (it's the one I'm getting) - can't wait to play this with a large player base. I played it late and never really got much from the multiplayer.
This is really nice playing through the start of the game. I forgot how great the Longsword moveset is...
So you just do that, what, every 30 minutes or so so you don't lose a ton of progress?

guys, question as i am unfamiliar with PSN purchasing before launch. i have 40 bucks on this at GS. could i just refund that, put it toward 2 20$ cards and put it from the PSN store? I dont know how taxation works in this scenario but i have a 20% off code ready to use, is that enough?
PSN store does do tax (at least they do in my area) so you'll need enough to cover tax. AFAIK, 20 percent off codes don't work on pre-orders, so you'll have to wait till midnight.
The game is $40 digital right? So yeah if you refunded the $40 you put down on the physical copy then you would have enough for the digital copy unless you somehow live somewhere where digital purchases are taxed more than that 20% off code you have.
EDIT: As stated above though, you have to wait and not pre-order.
I was NOT ready for that church. Everyone went on & on about the Forbidden Woods, but nobody thought to mention the absolute hell that was waiting for me later in the game.

I have both as well and I am still undecided which platform I want to pair with my PC version. I am leaning towards PS4 Pro though...
