I have a quest to cure a NPC of the blood plague but I don't know how to administer it. I have a cure in inventory and the only options I have when I talk to her is just learn more and trade.

Any ideas?

use the infirmary to craft the cure first
the blood plague samples are not the cure (nor is stabilizing the cure)
when you have the right cure in your hands then talk with the infected

My wife and I both started in single player for a few hours to get acquainted with the game and were going to try co-op out last night but we are unable to see each other's invites (both on PC).

I fell down the YouTube, forum, support article rabbit hole and tried dozens of tips to help and I still have no luck.

I show an open NAT type on PC when testing through the Xbox app, but the server shows blocked. Ugh...

I don't even know what to try next, Xbox customer support was going to be a 141 minute wait.

For reference I have never had issues with Xbox games on PC like Gears, Forza, SoT, etc.
Did you update to the Win 10 April update between it working last and now?
I have also googled myself tired due to this and finally found that lots of people report having problems since that update. With MS being absolutely quiet about the issue.

I just wanna play with my SO :(
One thing I'm gonna try tonight is "joining through the app" (however you do that...) instead of trying to send invites. Apparently this works for some people even tho it's "blocked" for them.

Was some glitch. I had to restart the quest. After talking to her, was suppose to trigger the next part of the quest which is to bring her home, then craft then give her the cure. All within 10 mins.

Oh my God, you can be such an online asshole if you want to. And of course I took the gas and repair kits before doing it.

I'm sorry random internet person.

This is just mean, because of things like this is the reason the coop is so limited in base management etc. Someone always finds a way to mess with you. Reminds me of the random person in Sea of Thieves who started throwing treasure overboard. At least we recovered them, throwed him in the brig, turned in treasure and then flooded the lower deck and killed. He still cashed in, but it was satisfactory. I will never understand why doing things like this is more fun to some people instead of helping out. There is analogy here for real life problems I suppose.

Really liking the game, it is very addictive. I am always thinking about the next move to make my community thrive. I have become used to the controls, same way I hated them in Witcher 3 but managed to get used to them. After a while I don't even mind. Though that is no excuse, they should have been better. Have fun and be safe out there Era!

Why you would be such a dick to intentionally ruin someone's experience like that is completely beyond me. The fact you post it online like it's something to be proud of is even worse.

It was more like a 1 time self experiment to find out what goes and what not in multiplayer to take note for my own world.

Thanks god it only works in that bad way with the big doors and not every house has it. Unfortunately, I have the exact same house at the moment so now I know I have to be careful and also don't leave expensive stuff in my car.

But for that I'm not really sorry, that's my thief way to play the game. :P
It was more a warning for you guys to watch out what people do with your cars. I hope they add an option for deactivating that randoms drive your own cars or cars in general in your world. As far as I know now, that's the only shit they could do with it.

From 'quake area to big OH.
I was about to add the ultimate edition to my backlog, but was told there is no meaningful ending and it was just an endless grind. And no story.

If I had fun with MGS Survive, well I enjoy this? Popping in and out of game play clips looked repetitive.

Fwiw I enjoyed MG Survive and I really enjoy this. Not seen half as many bugs in my 9 hours with the game as some have, and it's a different kind of tension altogether to MG:S, but there is lots of tension. The busy work is much more forgiving and resources are plentiful but finite, there's a real plan ahead for success mechanic, and MG:S is one of the few games that shares that particular facet of gameplay. Traversal is far less punishing too. Stamina management is critical but it's a far less savage implementation than MG:S. It is honestly a much easier experience than MG:S so if it's the challenge you're after, you may want to seek impressions from those who've move maps. Apparently this comes with a difficulty spike, not there yet myself. The short loop of going out and turning white buildings black on the map in an expanding radius to safety is proving thoroughly entertaining for me as it stands.

There is some story but I wouldn't play for that. The fun comes from the tension of teetering on the brink and building back up. Do you like management sims?

the prefab is fine but i think you'll have more Austin Walker Interesting Stories if you roll up a new crew.

I really don't like the soldier lady they give you which is unfortunate because she has become a high tier survivor

anyway, i killed all the plague hearts and the legacy quest isn't triggering so I guess I'm done for now. I'll leave this for a few months then get the DLC I guess

Is there a way to see who you're current follower is? I'm finding that when I switch characters and try to get another follower, it won't let me. I have to switch back to the previous character and hope I remember who I asked to follow me, and ask them to stop.

There has to be a more intuitive way to do this?

What is everyone's favorite region to start in?

Cascade Hills best map

I started in Drucker County but due to playing co-op with my friend I've spent about 5-7 hours in Cascade Hills and it's more varied in the vistas and places it had to offer in relation to Drucker County.

There's a home site in Cascade Hills which is actually bridge, cordoned off on each end and it looked pretty cool. I've finally fully cleared Drucker County and chose Meagher Valley as my next destination...and let's just say that they weren't kidding when they said that you'd start from scratch. Undead put me in the outskirts, with no car, no home base, overage on supplies which I'd lose if I didn't get to moving and it was night time to boot.

First thing I noticed was the volume of enemies in comparison to Drucker County. Immediately I could tell that they were more zombies roaming the roads. I hoofed it to Camp Kelenqua after ID'ing on top of a billboard, thankfully it could bed my entire team of 8, it had water supply built in already, and I set up an infirmary, my armory, a garden or farm (don't remember which, it's the one that DOESNT require a large outdoor slot) for food, set up a workshop for weapon repairs and finally drove out to a power station and set that up.

Now my base has both water and power. Helping out my friend in his camp proved to be worth it. I would not have had the influence reserves if I hadn't. Also I think I found her another bug, at one point my influence read as 9999 but I definitely knew I had more because when I purchased my power substation it showed that I had close to 1100 influence.

Been having so much fun with this game, it's not for everyone. It's one of those games that some will passionately love, while others will absolutely hate.

is this glitch common for everyone?

When you switch to a enlisted character, the previous character you have in control, disappears. Sometimes they'll show back up whenever they want or they'll come back if I quit the game and continue back.

I have had this happen many many times. Sometimes when on a supply run or just out in the world my enlisted NPC will literally disappear. When I try to take control of them via the menu, I can't. After a couple of mins they'll reappear next to me. Very annoying, especially when fighting hordes.

Is there a limit to how many recruitable survivors spawn into the world or do they just keep randomly appearing? Had a shocking night tonight losing 3 survivors. My camp is suddenly feeling really vulnerable.

Once you hit the soft cap of 9 in a camp, they'll stop spawning, but as you lose survivors (sorry for your lost) more will spawn so you can recruit.

Care to share how your 3 survivors went out? :P

I just traded and it's so much better way to gather influence.

Since it's pretty common, I hope they patch this asap.

Excluding the bugs, what's the general consensus on this? Good improvement over the original? Currently waiting for a non-Windows Store version.

I also would like to know what peeps think? With bugs and all, worth it? How's the multiplayer?
I can't speak for the original, but it's pretty fun if you're down for a zombie apocalypse simulator. I'd say definitely worth the gamepass trial or month. The multiplayer is both buggy and not a core part of the experience, it's primarily a single player game.

I'm enjoying the thrill of getting chased and the tense moments where im getting overrun, and the building and plotting my next move but i wish they'd make it a bit less hectic with all the alerts and new people popping up asking for help. Really no relaxing time, its all just go go go.

I have been enjoying this quite a bit. Give it a shot using gamepass, I think the reviews were a little too harsh. It has some jank and bugs, but so far I'm having a lot of fun.

Yeah, that isn't cool. At all.

Anyway, my thoughts on the game so far;

- After around 6 hrs of play I have to admit to myself .. it has a very addictive play cycle of resource and team management.
- The animations are quite sloppy, so much jank. But not enough for me to put the game down. I can definitely see it putting a lot of players off.
- Menus look very sleek and smooth, good work here UL.
- The lip syncing is awful, so is the general narrative. There's no real overarching story, rather they rely on procedural missions that map the way for the player. This is ok, but they had a chance to do something special with the sequel this time.
- So many bugs, it's ridiculous how many I've run into in just 1 hour of play. Cars exploding from small objects on the road, gates not closing and leaving invisible barriers behind, weird graphical issues all over the place (especially at night).
- Gunplay is generally ok, but feels unresponsive at times. As does melee combat. Some moments are pretty cool, especially when you get swarmed by zeds.
- I feel frustrated by MS, they could have pushed this into the AAA space and really created a top tier game. I don't blame Undead Labs, they've done a good job with what they had. It's MS fault for not giving the game the lift it needed as a sequel. That being said, for a $30 game I'm quite content with it. It's generally the same thoughts I had for ReCore too.

Let's hope Undead Labs and MS go all in for the 3rd game because I am officially a fan of this series now!

After playing all weekend, this is becoming one of my great disappointments. All I wanted from SOD1 was the team to have the budget to get rid of the jank (bugs, 20fps, etc). I think SOD: Y1 is basically the best that it gets.

SOD2 seems to show an utter disrespect for the player's time. When it comes to punishment, it's all there. The game seems to save second-by-second so you can't back out of even the smallest mistakes.... but the bugs will kill your people, destroy your cars, etc with no recourse whatsoever. Considering how many issues we've found in 4 days I find it hard to believe that the team was unaware, so it becomes a choice.

I'm going to keep playing to finish out my first community, but the feeling of satisfaction of building a thriving community from SOD1 is gone. I'm constantly in the red on everything, other enclaves are constantly yelling at me, and bugs are destroying my work when I do make progress. Really hoping they patch this thing sooner than later.

You mentioned ReCore and I completely forgot how much I also enjoyed that game and not unlike State of Decay 2, its retail price was lower than the usual $60 MSRP and it also had lots of jank. But the commonality they share is that (to me at least) they're fun, had grit and a charm. If it just had had more resources it really could have been something else.

Having said all that the 26 hours + I spent in Drucker County were relatively stress free regarding bugs/glitches. But I've now encountered a malicious bug that won't let me enlist a follower even when I know for sure I hasn't enlisted anyone or if I had I had delisted them. I have to quit the game back to the title screen in order to resume as usual. Very annoying.

If I had to make a direct comparison it would be Days Gone (I know, it's not even out yet) compared to State of Decay. And it all boils down entirely to budget from MS.
I really hope they do the next game justice. The series has some glowing ideas and gameplay within a genre not many are doing well at the moment.

The fact that I am still enjoying myself despite all these ridiculous bugs, jank-galore and general instability (multiplayer) is a testament to what this IP could achieve. It's really made a fan out of me as this was my first game in the series.

It feels like a worthy sequel. Improves on the game in just about every aspect, and generally feels more balanced and varied. If you liked the first one you'll probably like this one too.

So what's up with the survivors just kinda fucking things up and losing supplies? Like OOPS LOST SOME FOOD and I just out of nowhere drop 4 food.

I don't remember that in the first game but it feels really annoying.

How does injury recovery and weapon repair work? I'm struggling to figure it out. Once you have an infirmary or workshop, is it just passive over time?

I think it replaces the system where survivors could go out on supply runs, and potentially get in trouble. So you get bonus/lost resources from random events instead.

So, I settled in the foothills. Now I know I can expand to outposts, have a few myself, but they are just that, outposts. Is there any way to make a second base, as in build infirmary, etc? And is there any way to move my base to a bigger space, with more opportunities to build? I know I can move to a different map, but I mean in the same map. A place where instead of 4 structures I can have 8, for example.

I cant seem to find any supplies to build an infirmary, one of my survivors has the blood plague and the rest of them are constantly moaning about shite community life is, lol. I'm almost tempted to start again as I've obviously missed something or shit is gone wrong, only played just over two hours so far.

You can move your homebase, for me it was part of a Builder quest, but should work without the quest as well.

There are like 6-10 possible homes on each map, I think someone posted a guide about them in a previous page.

Finally got time to play this properly and I'm having so much fun. I just played State of Decay 1 for the first time last week and had completely forgotten this was on the way. That was a fun coincidence and surprise and i got to pre-order it just in time! :D

Just got this character with what seems like totally OP skills!
vBIYNs8.png

Have found small pet peeves and a glitch here and there but no bad bugs or anything like that. Generally I'm having a fantastic time.
