Oops my bad, fixed my post
They were probably all high fiving each other over the Game Pass stuff and just forgot about GwG.
Lucky they have Ubisoft on speed dial!
Syndicate is a better Assassin's Creed game than Origins. Fight me!
Dammit, I have to have reasons? Okay, because the actual assassinations are way more intricate and interesting. In Origins, you can stand on a roof and shoot an arrow at your target and they're dead. In Syndicate, you have to plan a route in, complete optional objectives, and really think about it. The open world of Origins is great, but it really stifled the best parts of the series. The combat and controls are much improved in Origins, though. Also Origins is waaaay easier.

It was a legit question. The complaining was sarcasm.
I think I'd get frustrated with it, so I'm avoiding this. Cars 2 is so easy but I don't mind making my way through it.
Yes, you need an active subscription, but only for X1 GWG games on X1. If your subscription lapses, you only lose access to the X1 games until you renew. So now that I have an Xbox One I was thinking of this. But, from what I am reading now, on Xbox One to play the free games you need to have an active Xbox Live Gold sub (ie: PSN+ style)? This is a change from the 360 days where one of their differentiators they touted over PSN was that the Games with Gold were yours to keep and play, whether or not you had an XBL Gold subscription.
So a few questions I'm hoping someone can help with:
- Is this correct, and I need an active XBL Gold sub to play the Games with Gold games on Xbox One?
- Does this only impact Xbox One? I also have an Xbox 360 I still use, with the same gamertag. I assume that if I have XBL Gold I get it on both Xbox One and Xbox 360 with the same account? Are the Games with Gold on Xbox 360 still playable without an active XBL Gold sub?
- If I need an active XBL Gold sub on Xbox One to play the games, then I cancel my sub: if I resubscribe at some point in the future do I get access to those games back? Or are they lost when I cancel, and when I re-sub I effectively "start over" with my access to Games with Gold and have to start building my collection again?
Yes, you need an active subscription, but only for X1 GWG games on X1.
360 GWG games are still yours forever, and will play on 360 or X1 regardless of Gold subscription status. As far as everything is concerned, you are just purchasing thisr 360 games at a price of $0, and there is no license difference between them and any other 360 game you purchase. And yes, you subscription is shared cross-platform.
If your subscription lapses, you only lose access to the X1 games until you renew.
Guessing thread title will ring true given how late they're leaving it
It'll be a terrible month. Plus is pretty bad for July so I expect Gold to be similarly bad given how late they're announcing.
Unity and Rogue, I thinkAny more Assassin's Creed games to palm off on us? Other than Odyssey of course which, in fairness, I'd happily take.
