Dammit, I have to have reasons? Okay, because the actual assassinations are way more intricate and interesting. In Origins, you can stand on a roof and shoot an arrow at your target and they're dead. In Syndicate, you have to plan a route in, complete optional objectives, and really think about it. The open world of Origins is great, but it really stifled the best parts of the series. The combat and controls are much improved in Origins, though. Also Origins is waaaay easier.

Sorry, I was genuinely curious!

I was about to post that. Didn't realize that there was a new post here. I got both a moment ago.

Some of Dead Space 2's DLC is also free:
Severed: http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Dead-Space-2-Severed/5309800b-4714-456c-a083-56ba4da94c11
Outbreak maps: http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/P...eak-Maps/f1bee65c-8e85-49a8-b295-84ea0b0b328f

Seeing that the DLC packs were free was what led me to notice that the game was already free, too. I check the Xbox Live sales page on TrueAchievements every few days, which is how I found out.

So now that I have an Xbox One I was thinking of this. But, from what I am reading now, on Xbox One to play the free games you need to have an active Xbox Live Gold sub (ie: PSN+ style)? This is a change from the 360 days where one of their differentiators they touted over PSN was that the Games with Gold were yours to keep and play, whether or not you had an XBL Gold subscription.

So a few questions I'm hoping someone can help with:

[EDIT: Deleted #1 and #2, sorry should have read OP better]:
  1. If I need an active XBL Gold sub on Xbox One to play the games, then I cancel my sub: if I resubscribe at some point in the future do I get access to those games back? Or are they lost when I cancel, and when I re-sub I effectively "start over" with my access to Games with Gold and have to start building my collection again?

  1. Is this correct, and I need an active XBL Gold sub to play the Games with Gold games on Xbox One?
  2. Does this only impact Xbox One? I also have an Xbox 360 I still use, with the same gamertag. I assume that if I have XBL Gold I get it on both Xbox One and Xbox 360 with the same account? Are the Games with Gold on Xbox 360 still playable without an active XBL Gold sub?

Yes, you need an active subscription, but only for X1 GWG games on X1. If your subscription lapses, you only lose access to the X1 games until you renew.

360 GWG games are still yours forever, and will play on 360 or X1 regardless of Gold subscription status. As far as everything is concerned, you are just purchasing those 360 games at a price of $0, and there is no license difference between them and any other 360 game you purchase. And yes, your subscription is shared cross-platform.

Great, thanks a lot for your help! Made it easy to jump on the 40% off for 3 months. Been trying to wrap my brain around The Witness, I think I "finished" one area but it's starting to get pretty tough now! ;)

I'm not thrilled with the offerings but that's fine. Some months have been really good. Can't wait to see June.

I'm thinking Borderlands the Presequel will be offered before the year is over.

Obvious fake rumour. But damn that would be a fantastic month... hell, even one of them would be a fantastic month.

Guessing thread title will ring true given how late they're leaving it

Expect shit months starting from September/October aswell. The holiday period is always shit months then January is usually a decent month.

German site confirmation is good enough for me.

Updated the OP.

Happy with the 360 games. I'm actually hoping we get way more kids games on 360. I put Gold on my son's account to attach as many games as possible for him when he's older and I've been rapty with all the kids games that have been coming. Cars 2, Lego Games, Sonic Racing Transformed. It's great. So even if I stop subbing to Gold for him, he'll always have those games.

Sonic racing ? Nice, I've been on the edge of buying it several times in the past. A new AC or Lego game won't hurt, it's always "more of the same" but also always enjoyable (I really liked AC China recently, I hope Russia is similar)

Sonic racing would be a great addition, great own and can't wait to play it again. I welcome any racers they can add. Wonder if they'll ever add Blur.

Sonic is just enough for me to enjoy the month honestly, I love that game and being I play games a lot mroe casually, I can probably ride that one out for the month. Not only that, but June has some hitters like Mario Tennis and Crew 2 for me.

Anyone else getting an error when accessing the Lego Indiana Jones 2 store page via an Xbox 360?
