Hey, just posting about a small issue I had with the DLC in case somebody else ran into the same bug. I bought & installed the DLC, and updated the game - but none of the content was activated in-game. I'd gotten past the opening area and everything - it just didn't seem to elbe showing up. No grey area on the map where The Cut should be, none of the NPCs with the quest info are in the game.

However, I was able to get it to show up by power cycling my PS4. So if you're having the same issue, hopefully that also works.

Being locked into Ultra Hard is ridiculous, it's going to take me 50 hours to finish at this rate. They should patch in the option to change difficulties.

I cannot create a New Game+ loadout, any reason for that? I meet all the requirements, trying to start from a 100% save file for both the base game and DLC.

Edit: Seems like it might be a known issue after doing some looking around on the subreddit.

Finished the whole thing today and got my 100% trophy achievement. The game is absolutely amazing, and easily the best game of this console generation. I might throw it in my top 10 of all time after chewing on it. I feel so blessed and privileged for being alive and able to experience this work of art <3

The new machines sucks. I have to fight against. The last " machine " variation is such bulshit they cranked the worst from the base version and made it stronger, faster, leaping farther, more protected...

Fuck you post game hunt. I'm done with this.

Are you wearing armours with elemental defence? Damage from the new machines can be mitigated greatly by this, even for melee attacks... alternatively you can use the elemental resistance potions. Also, never roll just once, roll twice or three times instead!

Heh yeah I also noticed the music and thought it was better. Honestly everything seems a little bit better. Though I will say I've found the loading times to be a bit longer in the expansion. Though it's hard for me to say considering I haven't played the game since like March, before I hopped in with Frozen Wilds.

Played a good amount of this the past couple of days and it is quickly reminding me how much I love Horizon. It has a lot of what you'd expect from a piece of DLC: new quests, new region, new enemies, new weapons, etc. But it is all extremely well done. I also appreciated the skills they added to make resource management easier. There is a good amount of content here. The combat is still superlative and I love exploring a new sector of this world and seeing all the little stories associated with it. I'm particularly impressed with the side quests here. The one centered around draining the lake is my favorite part of the DLC so far. Can't wait to play it more tonight!

I noticed with Frost/Fireclaws it's also much better to roll towards them, especially when they're doing the 3-4 swing attack, from all the times I've fought them, they don't seem to be able to turn 180 mid-attack, so it'll buy you a few seconds and put them at a decent distance away.

If I've not completed the main game yet (I'm level 15 I believe so should be a good amount left), is there any benefit to getting the DLC now or should I just wait until I'm further along?

i finished the main game earlier today. it's a miracle that a game like this turned out as good as it did, props to Guerilla. it's *not quite there* for me overall, but I liked what they were going for and suspect letting the team do another, similar project will have ridiculous returns.

probably a very luke-warm take at this point, but the story did more for me at a zoomed level than it did for me on a moment to moment basis. some of the dialogue, particularly early on, really ripped me out of the game -- though that might be and a mix of voice direction and facial animation than the writing itself. hard to, like, blame anyone for it -- it just feels like the sort of thing that practise will perfect with time. the larger mystery was cool, but it didn't do much to actually endear me to the world I was currently playing in. i admire the ambition though: there's enough capital P plot to support a few games in here. but that does make the flabby middle of the game a little more confusing -- some of it may be on me for wasting time on sidequests and doing the sun kingdom stuff before following up the main throughline.

the game did the thing I always bristle a little at, which is offer lots of skill upgrades for stealth and """alternative""" paths through combat, but then bottleneck me through climactic moments with unavoidable combat. which is a shame, because solving situations out in the wild by overriding enemies and leashing them through into other areas was super fun to watch and interfere with.

the other tiny thing I liked was how story dialogue would seamlessly account for optional content I'd already completed (ie visiting cauldrons, doing certain branching story quests before others, etc). It's such a small detail, but it needs *so much* foresight really early on in projects like this to get right. i'm glad someone owned it here.

anyway, yeah, cool game. can't wait to see what they do next.

Just finished the expansion (I think? Didn't get any message or anything).

Man, that last hunting mission of the 5 machine sites is insane. Those bastards are tough as nails and then some.

Beautiful game that just got even more beautiful. I really missed playing this! Love the combat system so much, and the world is just a big pleasure to explore.

Playing on Ultra Hard and loving it. I love that medium sized enemies feel like sub bosses and the big guys are Dark Souls level encounters.

It really all comes down to your load out and skill set in getting the upper hand in an encounter.

Can't say it's ever felt unfair to me. Might even need a few more notches dialed up.

Sorry if this has been brought up before, searched and didn't find anything... but my time of day isn't advancing anymore (it's also unavailable in my camera controls). I'm at the part where
I need to do 2 out of 4 objectives to advance the story
and I'm just exploring freely and doing side-quests and stuff.

Any idea what might have caused this?

So, it looks like with all the new outfits, there are 2 you can't have even with the maxed out outfit pouch. Lame. I guess I'll just sell my 2 weakest, ugliest outfits. There's really no reason you shouldn't be able to have them all though.

Here's a video of myself checking the issue regarding the LOD issues plus discussing the snow tech with a friend really quickly. The more I think about it the more I think it's a tessellation issue. I think it was used all along and the snow tech advancements created the issue.

What should I focus my initial Bluegleam on, the new weapons or new armor?

Having an extra armor mod slot is nice, but with 3 mods on my old elemental armor I'm already almost maxing out the elemental resist bar.

I'm feeling new weapons may be more effective for me overall ..

I just wanted to create a ng+ save with my ultra hard game, but the option is greyed out (story and dlc is done on this save). Is it really not possible to create another ng+ game from a ng+ ultra hard game? Did anyone tried this before?

Just started playing the DLC after getting platinum with the main game since March. And to fight the first machine creature at the entrance of the new area after forgetting the controls; not a good idea!

No way to expand the armors and weapons inventory? The main game had the right amount of slots but here I guess I'll have to let go some of them?

(Sorry if that has already been brought up)

This dlc definitely belongs in the hall of fame of great dlcs. It feels like they trimmed all the fat and condensed all the good aspects of the game into this small journey. Also just great improvement of all the dialogue animations and overall more use of mocapped cutscenes

My only complaint would be that it doesn't add that much to the general story of Horizon but I guess that's due to it taking part during the events of the maingame and not after.

Just finished it. It was fantastic! Enjoyed the story and new characters. Tons more lore for fans to check out. Also the new weapons and enemies were a lot of fun. I also liked the new puzzle mechanic. Definitely worth playing even if you finished the main story.

I am truly impressed with the new conversation presentation. The camera movements and animations make it so much more cinematic. Didn't know what a difference it was until I decided to finish up a sidequest from base game and the conversation was so much stiffer than i remember. I think all RPGs and open world games with conversation trees are gonna need to see what Guerrilla did.

Hooooly crap at the difference in quality during conversations.

The main game felt like those conversations were mostly generated by their tech, without much in the way of touch-ups made by the animation team. They had dead eyes and unconvincing animations for the most part (though still very high-fidelity for what they were), which made for a very strong uncanny valley type of effect.

Now they're... perfect. I wonder if the smaller scope allowed them to hand-craft the conversations more, or if they simply improved the tech automating this stuff. Seems like hand-crafting these would be a huge ressource hog for them, so I wonder what approach they'll take in Horizon 2 assuming a much larger amount of them.

I'd be super interested to learn about the approach they took here, and what allowed them to make such a huge leap forward in quality for this DLC. Really awesome stuff.

I had very fond memories of this game and honestly thought it might be rose-tinted glasses, but this DLC just reminds me of how damn good this game really is. It totally is in the conversation with Zelda, Mario, and Persona for GOTY to me.

Anyone have the TCLP607? Nights are pretty dark in Horizon with HDR on at the default brightness. Not sure I should bump it up or if this is normal.

I've noticed the Fireclaw machines are a bit like Bloodstarved beast where you have to dodge toward the machine rather than away from it. Fireclaw does a lot of forward lunge attacks. Ever since doing that I've had a lot easier time fighting them.

Also, do tearblast arrows not work against daemonic Thunderjaws?

I don't have the same tv but yeah on my HDR set it is notably darker at night. I went down south in the base game at night and it wasn't as dark. I guess the snowfall and clouds make it darker? It hasn't bothered me enough to mess with my settings though.

Finished the addon, any excuse to get back to the game is welcome.

Really can't wait for where the game will go with another iteration.

On a scale of 1-10 how fucked am I with my Ultra Hard only save? I was able to 100% the base game on it without too much trouble if that's anything to go on. I'd prefer not to make another new game, but if it's significantly harder than the base game I don't want my experience to be ruined by frustration.

WOW. Just finished the dlc, it's crazy how every aspect of this is improved over the main game. I am RAVENOUS for sequel.

What is the extent of CYAN's capabilities? Having access to an old world AI seems a little op. Yo Aloy, how about you get your new ai buddy to fire up those drones?

The Drained the flood trophy is glitched for me. I saw it pop after I did the waterlogged sidequest but when I synced my trophies with PSN it never showed up as me having gotten it. Aside from that it was a good DLC for $15. I got every other trophy except for that one.

The one thing that bothers me about this game is the focus. Like trying to lock onto enemy weak points to see what the weaknesses are is difficult since they're always on the move. I wish there was a way to cycle through with the D-pad
