So is the Trials of Anubis broke? I done it 4 times now and I just get a empty blue square that gets replaced if I do it again by another.

The Shaman outfit is pretty much trolling, it's got a really similar design to the one that I like, only that one has no shoes, this one has shoes.....but NO PANTS!

Man, I feel stupid, I've cleared out everybody in a restricted area...but it still says its restricted. What now?
Enemies routinely come to forts to deliver materials, forts are always restricted so that the AI knows to attack you on sight if they're coming back to sleep or eat or work. Unlike far cry and past AC games you aren't liberating forts, more like dismantling them.

In my experience restricted areas remain so even after you clear them out. As long as you get the required treasure/captains etc you clear it but it retains that restricted status.

It's a bug, but it's supposed to be a piece of the armor. I think you only get one piece no matter what though. You get the whole set at the end of the trials.

Is there an easy way to beat these damn elephants? This has to be the poorest designed section of the game.

Ah, thanks!

A Predator bow does 1K+ damage a shot, also do your overpowered attack everytime it's up, if it's the one that just lets you attack faster hit the back legs.

So I just started the game on Xbox One X. Is anyone else getting muffled audio? Especially during voice acting? It's like everything was recorded with a cell phone. Seems like Ubi fucked up the sound mixing.

It is done. 86 hours clocked on Steam (60+ hours in-game clock). What a ride.

I'll have to agree with the others who said that the pacing is bad in the last stretch of the story. You get to hunt your final targets, but here's a new zone for you to explore with all of the side quests. I had to skip the 35-40 side quests because I felt that I need to proceed with the story. Now I still have lots of zones to uncover and side quests to finish, but I don't think I can stomach them right now. I'll come back to the game to finish everything later. Overall, it's a solid 8.5/10 game and one of the biggest surprises for me this year.

Not really. Things are clear in that area for me.

I do agree that the sound mixing is bad though. There are times when the game just suddenly decides to play a sweeping score during a conversation, drowning the convo in the process.

Ah damn, that's a bummer. I''m wondering if it's because I have Windows Sonic surround sound for headphones enabled and that's messing up with the sound mixing.

Mounting a horse or a camel is legit in this game. Some of the best animations and controls i've ever seen in a game. The camel looks amazing as it grins all the time..
Generally speaking the wildlife and representation of animals is fantastic and varied, the world feels alive and vibrant. Love for example how hyens try to bite your feet as you are hiding behind your shield. Great stuff.
Eagerly waiting for the next patch to be able to continue to play this great game.

Beat it earlier today. Feel the same way about weird pacing at the end. I ended up beating game at level 32, as I pushed forward on only story missions towards the end. That made some of the fights brutally frustrating, but I cdidnt want to do sidequests anymore. overall, had a ton of fun.

as cool as Rome looked, I don't wAnna do Europe again.

When Ubisoft made a good game they downgraded it. I have a base PS4 but yesterday I played it on my friends PS4 Pro. This is a disgrace and Ubisoft shouldn't get away with it.

Anyone else having the issue that loot bags are sometimes taking 20 seconds or more to finally show up after killing someone? Playing on PC. I have the suspicion that it is bound to CPU performance?

Yes, it's been widely discussed. I think it's intentional, I've got the perk to auto loot people instantly when you stealth kill them so I assume it's not a CPU thing. Everyone I murder in a non stealth fashion though, yeah it's a good few seconds to wait before their bag 'o gold pops up.

Am I going crazy, or does the reticule move around in a crazy manner everytime you look at the map? It's driving me nuts.

Oh god, I just started the Children of the Streets quest and accidentally used my overpower attack on the kid instead of one of the bandits. He's still alive, of course, but, uh, sorry for splitting your skull down the middle, little guy!

Just gonna borrow your prisoner here for a sec:

TinyWelldocumentedHalicore-max-14mb.gif

Haha. I managed to free him by accidentally hitting one of the horses with a fire arrow and burning down half the block.

Wich platform? Love your gifs. It almost seems as it wasn't affected by the downgrade.
Like you i love taking my time in the game by slow movement trough environments, game is perfect for that. Give us back the real game Ubi:(
On pc. The world is gorgeous! I really miss not having better HUD toggle options (like a shortcut button), and even some close camera mods. It's really surprising that there aren't any mods for this game. Not sure if it is due to DRM.

This world may be the most impressive single map i've ever seen. The amount of detail, huge desert landscapes where you literally feel the lonliness, cultural background and the flora and fauna really create a level of immersion rarely seen in videogames. On top of this the traversal is absolutely on point.

Platinum done, doing all the ? wasn't anywhere near as bad as I was expecting.

Anyways what I liked and disliked about this.
Loved:
The world, was what I was most excited for and it more than delivered, just so much to it.

Liked:
Bayek, was really surprised I ended up liking him, but I did.
Stealth and range combat, pretty standard, but I really enjoyed it.
Senu, makes no sense even by AC standards, but was pretty fun way to scout.
Climbing, it's not too different from past games, but it just seems much smoother here, can't even think of 1 time I got stuck on something.

Disappointing:
Melee combat, just didn't really ever find my self enjoying it. And can be frustrating at times.
Aya, just wasn't enough of her for me to care about her.
Soundtrack, just forgettable, which is extra disappointing as AC games usually have great OSTs.

Disliked:
The intro, just terrible imo, really badly paced and just needlessly convoluted. Just showing what went down in the correct order would've been much better.
The story, just completely forgettable and also weirdly paced.
The present day stuff, just completely pointless, like why even bother if that all it's going to be?

Overall though really enjoyed it.
would be really happy with the next being about Bayek and Aya setting up the Creed across Rome and Egypt. Also love that the chopping off the finger tradition happens because Bayek was an idiot.

Stats:
59:16:12
125, I assume that's all them.

The map is really impressive. The 2 things still holding the world back IMO are:

1. Physics. This is something Ubisoft struggles with across the board. I understand why considering console CPUs and how taxing their worlds are (more so after what they've been doing since AC: Unity + Watch_Dogs 2), but there's very little sense of weight and free form hit detection between people, objects, animals, etc. For example, horse carts in this game look terrible with the lack of "moving parts" and the way it interacts with the terrain as one big stiff vehicle. Likewise with horses trampling people (which is all canned), animals hitting anything, Bayek running through people, etc. Characters are still shifted around weirdly in a way they're not in Rockstar's games. This is something I'm expecting to see big improvements in next gen, hopefully.

2. More dynamic and self correcting systemic activity. This is an area I thought Watch_Dogs 2 made huge strides in so I'm not surprised Origins, developed concurrently, didn't take full advantage of. The call and response between Bayek, NPCs, and world events in general isn't as strong here, and though the game does feature a day/night work/rest AI system, I feel like NPCs are less fun to watch and interact with. To be fair, Watch_Dogs is a social manipulation franchise, and improved that aspect a ton in the sequel, but I fully expect that stuff to make its way into this series eventually. Even beyond that, you don't get the same constant sense of "the AI is interacting with each other and at any moment something weird can happen" like you do in WD2.

Playing it right now.
I'm still early in the game (12 hours in) but overall I'm really liking it.
It's basically Assassin's Creed meets Witcher 3 and Metal Gear Solid 5. And indeed if we consider that those two games were released and had huge success when this game was in the peak of its creative development, it makes sense that Ubisoft took some lessons.
The world is beautiful, it's full of secrets and cool side missions. The new combat system at first is a bit confusing if you're used to previous AC games, certain staples of the past are gone but once you make practice if feels like a more tactical Witcher 3 which is pretty cool.
Things I'm not liking are basically the use of the eagle which seems a forced way to let you mark enemies and find targets at the cost of a loading time if you send it (not so) far away from the main character.
The story seems interesting but it's presented in a confusing way so far.

Good points and i agree with them. Physics are lackluster if there are any. You can fire up an arrow by holding it into a flame, but that is the maximum in terms of pysics. But when we compare this to Horizon or Witcher3 (games that i love), Origins is fairly in the norm, not better but not worse. Horizon for example is completely static, when i walk trough the flora or MGSV too for instance. In Origins the wheat moves wenn Bayek or an NPC move trough it (Witcher 3 has this effect too). Plus the World has much more to offer then any of mentioned games, when it comes to NPC-player-wildlife interaction. I was chasing down a NPC for a sidequest with my horse, not i stopped the Npc, a Hippo smacked him off the horse, so i could finish him off. A totally unscripted scene. Wildlife interacts with wildlife.A Hyen tries to escape when it sees that i slaughtered the entire pack just to attack me from behind a few moments later.
It's janky yes, and that detracts a lot when collisions look goofy etc.. but i suppouse that it would require a huge amount of work to make it work properly. For that like you i hope future generations will provide hardware to facilitate to fix such shortcomings.
As for now the world of Origins; when it comes to topography, cohesiveness in nature, scale, look, historical authenticity, the seamless crossing between urban-rural-wild nature ; is IMO the most impressive i've ever seen in a game.

I just Platinum'd this game. I liked this game, but you quickly run out of things to do. Only had 120-130 quests, and you need about 50% more in order to level up enough times past level 40 to buy all the abilities. Though, when you finish the game and saved up enough cash, you get a method of exchanging cash for XP. I saved enough to buy about 6 levels worth of XP tablets.

Now I will stash the game and play it once every time a new Anubis event hits so I can finish up the Club Challenges.

I had a quest where the AI did self correct after the quest npc got attacked by a crocodile and got knocked off the boat we were using to get to the quest destination. I got far away from him but he found me and got back into the boat on his own.

That level 25 crocodile quest - the look on Bayek's face...the facial animation is convincing. The way the game deals with serious personal subjects is totally unexpected.

These are great - but why are my screenshots all washed out and awful since the HDR patch? They were fine before that patch. Looks amazing during the game in HDR but horrendous when viewing outside the game. Screenshits more like, ahaha ;____;
