If I somehow mess up and lose when fighting him, do I miss out on it for good?
Used a guide for some npc quests like Big Hat LoganIs the Giantdad build still viable?
I just started and of course I went straight for the Zweihander. I kinda wanted to do a Sorcery build because I know it wrecks PvE but I remember many years ago wrecking any Sorc invader with melee. :/
Nice! I did the same 6 years ago but I can't remember if there are any missables I should look out for. I vaguely remember one if the covenants being missable (Darkwraith?). Did you use a guide or go from memory?
Yeah I still have trouble with that boss as a knight. Get the grass shield, which will help block its magic. It always shoots for the main player with the green stuff, and it hits like a freight train. You can sometimes roll but those spells track you. Once it lands you can wail away at it. Should only take 2-3 landings to kill it.
I'd rather invade you and kill your little squadCurrently on PC, in Anor Londo outside O&S, anyone wanna summon me and gank invaders?
No squad here, I just finished fully upgrading my tracers and got summoned to a random's world, he dried fingered and we just kept fighting invaders. These things are so OP, I love 'em.I'd rather invade you and kill your little squad
But sadly I am on PS4 so I shall murder 'em there ;)

And here I am with my 5+ tries.I completely forgot about the CD yesterday and randomly came upon him while I was looking for the poison arrow lady. Beat him first try. :)
Thanks! Currently back to my thief character. I think I enjoy fast-paced parrying/backstabbing more than just swinging a large sword around. I could have known, since I always gravitate towards rogue classes in games.Well done! Keep moving forward you have so many great moments ahead...
If you like your starting armour and how it looks, feel free to upgrade it. Any armour is viable. Some have minor advantages over others (weight poise, poison resist, mag defense, etc.), but overall it shouldn't make a big enough difference.Edit: question about armor. I'm still wearing most of my starting armor. Is it worth it to upgrade it a bit or is that just a waste of titanite shards and should I buy/loot something else?

Ran aaaaaaaall the way from Tomb of the Giants to Firelink. Wasn't quite as bad as I expected, but still bullshit.
Found Ceaseless Discharge, which is an incredible band name, and decided to leave him for later. Now at Sen's Fortress, getting fucking flattened.
In Bloodborne, I didn't find any areas/environments SUPER hard from what I remember. Upper Cathedral Ward is the worst I can recall, partly because it was spooky as shit. The biggest challenges were usually the bosses.
This game almost feels like the opposite.
Dark Souls released when I was in college. Every one of us in the apt were playing it on separate TVs and consoles. We were all fairly on pace until I got stuck in the Tomb before even going to Sen's. I lagged behind everyone for two days trying to claw my way out of that. I was furious that my roommates were talking about some crazy duo boss thing that I had yet to see.Ran aaaaaaaall the way from Tomb of the Giants to Firelink. Were the points I put into dex to use the bow and buckler a good idea? I'm mainly a strength build, but I wanted that parry and I needed to kill that caster above
Haven't played a Soulsbourne game before. It is cool to play this game blind or should I use a guide while I play?
I am a stickler for missables but if they don't have that kind of stuff and the game isn't too difficult, then I would preferably go blind. Otherwise, I think I'm using a guide.
Bowing before the Goddess. He may be the Chosen Undead but he is also a Chosen Charmer.
P.S I didn't kill her she's too innocent.
There are too many missables to count. Take it from me. Buy this game. Use it as a way to break out of your OCD. Rather than hunting down 100% of the things (and diluting your experience in the process), carve out your unique experience that is special to you alone.Haven't played a Soulsbourne game before. Yeah, it was terrible for me as well. At least it seemed like just frame drops and not going into slow-motion, so my timing still seemed fairly accurate.Framerate shits the bed during gravelord nito fight. At least that's over and done with.

The Moonlight Butterfly is actually one of the easier bosses for any class IMO. The fast laser projectiles are easily blockable with most shields (you will take some chip damage blocking them) but the slower moving 3 projectile attacks can easily break you guard and heavily damage you even when blocking so they must be dodged which is pretty easy to do because of how slow they are. The Butterfly will land after a time and you can hack away at it until it does and AoE attack which you must back away from then rinse/repeat. If you are still struggling Baeatrice can be summoned (while in human form) at the bottom of the stairs behind the bushes and she can easily demolish the Butterfly by herself (all you have to is block and dodge the Butterfly attacks). I hope this helps...

I found her more trouble than she's worth. She is always in my way while trying to roll.

Ouch! Bite your tongue. Baeatrice is the best and also a beast...

A lot of things would have been nice for them to fix or add unfortunately :/i think it would've been cute to add a little easter egg like the pendant being able to be used and give you a secret item at a specific location or in NG+, just a little something like that - I didn't expect it, but it would've been fun for them to add some little nugget like that.
So it's my first time with DS1 and i've just beaten Chaos Witch Quelaag and rang the 2nd bell. Where should i go now? I've been briefly in Demons Ruins and got obliberated by Demon there after taking armor set from altar :D What bothers me the most at the moment is the fact that Quelana of Izalith didn't spawn for me.
I don't have pyromancy upgraded to +10 since i'm not playing as Pyromancer so that would be a waste of Souls but i've beaten Quelaag already and according to Fextralife https://darksouls.wiki.fextralife.com/Quelana+of+Izalith i meet criteria to make her spawn. Bugger :(
Don't use a guide. Feel free to Google stuff every now and again if you really need to, but carving your own path (and getting lost/being surprised) is a part of these games. You'd be robbing yourself of the full experience IMO.Haven't played a Soulsbourne game before. It is cool to play this game blind or should I use a guide while I play?

Starting armor are pretty good on the class you choose. There are specific armors to help you in certain areas you would use for said areas but not in the long term.
Thanks for the answers. I already dropped all my current titanite shards into my Bandit Knife, but I'll think about upgrading my armor a bit as well. I do have a shield. In fact I just switched from Target Shield to Heater Shield — in my opinion the increased parry window isn't worth the 22% damage that bleeds through. So I guess upgrading armor isn't that important for me. It's just one of those ingrained RPG habits. Makes me feel like I'm woefully undergeared when I'm 5 hours in and still wearing starting gear. The point you are at in the game Titanite Shards should be common enough for you to easily upgrade your starting armor if you like it. There are also plenty of great light armors in the game if you plan on staying a nimble Thief like character. If you are using a shield armor is not that important if you have a good shield.

Man, I am an unstoppable force with the BKGA in PVP. Ain't nobody backstabbing me.
Maybe a couple of parries though...
