Damn, just saw the finale. And, DAMN. Fucking perfect.

I love Clark County though. Dude is a ruthless motherfucker, he puts on that smiling face but you ain't gonna play him. He will gut you while you still whistling to his tunes.

That gun was from episode one right? A season long set up, wow.

I only now realised that when Earn asked the jewish dude if black lawyers could be as good as jewish lawyers, it was basically him asking if he as a black man could be as good a manager as a white dude (Clark County's manager etc.). No matter how good he gets, he won't have as many connections because of systemic issues.

Also, I wan't to see the europe tour, culture clash!

Yep. Shit is heartbreaking, especially as it relates to my profession.

Okay, so I don't really get the ending on the plane. The gun was Earn's period, so why did Al see it as a favor to him with the swapout? At worst, Earn is caught with the piece and Al leaves him behind in Atlanta.

Al saw that Earn fucked up, which is why he says something like, "that's exactly what I'm talking about" but he also saw that Earn was quick on his feet and was ruthless with his fix. Al wants Earn to be ruthless because that's the only way they will move up in their world and up until that point Earn has not shown that initiative or shown that he was even capable of something like that. He was happy because it meant Earn was changing for the better, at least in his eyes, and it meant that he would headline the tour now that Clark County would be arrested but then he sees Clark County got off by passing on the gun to the white dude.

Ah, gotcha. I was thinking too much about the general consequences versus Earn's development in his eyes. With Al's line about Earn caring, I translated it as "covering for Al" versus "doing anything to get them ahead", much like Clark's manager takes the fall for Clark afterwards.

I'm watching the entire show right now and I love it, but question about the second episode this season: how does that gift card scam work? How does he get double the amount from the 4k Earn gives him? It's a stupid detail but I didn't get it. Also I'd think Earn would at least play it safe and not trust a guy he's seen twice, but hey

His cousin boosted gift cards, activated them fraudulently, and sold them to Earn for half their credit.

The barber ep... I'm dead. I pretty much laughed for 20 minutes straight.

"Yo Alfred, come inspire the youth!"

edit: finished the season by now. Better than the first in every way, which is already brilliant. My favorite ongoing show now together with BCS and The Good Place.

Just saw that. Good to hear! I wouldn't be shocked with further delays and the like, but I'll be happy to have it back whenever it shows up.

'Atlanta' Renewed For Third Season By FX
Coming as absolutely no surprise to anyone who likes quality TV, FX is bringing the Emmy winning Atlanta back for third season, the cabler announced today.

Whether it gets a retitling like Season 2 did as Atlanta Robbin Season, the third season of the Donald Glover created and starring series is aiming to be back on the air in 2019.

"Atlanta is phenomenal, achieving and exceeding what few television series have done," said co-president of original programming for FX Networks and FX Productions Nick Grad today of the Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Beetz and Lakeith Lee Stanfield co-starrer.

Having debuted in September 2016 with its often off-kilter but poignant tales of cousins played by Henry and Glover and their experiences in the Georgia metropolis and its hip hop scene, Atlanta's first cycle won two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series – both for Glover. Season 2 is well expected to be a contender this year in the TV Academy contest.

"With Atlanta Robbin' Season, Donald and his collaborators elevated the series to even greater heights, building on the enormous success of their award-winning first season," Grad added, along with co-president Eric Schrier on Thursday. "We're grateful to the producers and our extraordinary cast and crew for achieving this level of excellence, and we share the excitement with our audience about the third season knowing they will continue to take us to unexpected and thrilling places."

Atlanta is executive produced by Glover, Paul Simms, Dianne McGunigle, Stephen Glover and Hiro Murai, and is produced by FX Production

SO happy they're going to make the time for it. Donald Glover and the cast are busy as hell.

Finally caught up. Man what a great season and finale. This show is intense, I have to space out my viewing. Stoked that season 3 is happening.

The 2018 Emmy award nominations are in. Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) received nominations for acting, writing, and directing for his acclaimed FX series "Atlanta." Among his nominations is Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. He will also compete against himself in Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, for the episodes "FUBU" and "Teddy Perkins."

The show is nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series, and two of its episodes—"Alligator Man" (written by Glover) and "Barbershop" (written by Stefani Robinson)—received nominations in the category for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. The episode "Alligator Man" is also nominated for Outstanding Music Supervision. Brian Tyree Henry, who plays Alfred "Paper Boi" Miles, is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Hell yes. I would have loved to have seen Lakeith Stansfield get a nom for Teddy Perkins, but those noms are great.

Does anyone know the best way watch the second season via streaming? Don't have cable but watched the first one through Hulu, wondered if it was anywhere else. Already saw the first couple of episodes and Teddy Perkins.
