I've played all Soulsborne games with Spear / Halberds. First time I'm gonna stick to a sword. Got the BSS +5, Havel's Ring, Elighte Knight Armor, +2 Estus and I'm level 25. I think I'm ready for Carpa Demon. x) RoFaP isn't far off either. I found it always weird how you get 2 of the best rings so early into the game. Really love the openness of DS1 compared to the other entries. Already got almost everything I wanna have this early. Sadly I didn't get the Black Knight Shield off the 3 guys I've killed so far.

I got the Halberd as well and I was tempted for a moment, but the R2 of BSS is fucking broken. Same Range as Halberd, but a lot quicker, more damage and you can spam it. Jesus. I promise I won't be using Silver Knight Spear this time... Gonna be hard tho, since it's my favorite weapon out of all of Soulsborne.... I mean the first thing that pops up on google that isn't a wiki-entry is a forum post by me advocating its awesomeness. I love it that much.

So I'm just past the Taurus Demon but for whatever reason my game keeps randomly crashing. I have a solid PC so it shouldn't be a performance issue. Any ideas for how to fix this?

I did some searching and a lot of people seem to be experiencing crashes with monitors above 60 hz, but my monitor is 60 hz so I'm not sure what the problem is. It just randomly crashes while I'm playing

I didn't have any problems on a 120hz gsync Ultrawide monitor and 1080ti. I wish I could help other then generic crashing troubleshooting like disable any overclocking and run them at normal stock speeds.

Sometimes I fucking hate this game.

I always get invaded by people that are just so op compared to me. It's so frustrating.

Thanks! I might just start it in the morning as it's getting late and I'm tired and playing dark souls while tired is probably not best haha

Not sure if you know but how is sorcery in Dark Souls 1? I've played the games in the series but I always need to play very defensively as I have slow physical reflexes and I'm just not able to dodge/evade or roll out of the way and just not very skilled at these types of games. When I played the game long ago on PS3 I used heavy army/shield and one handed weapon and even then needed to summon for every boss and such. I was thinking about trying Faith or Sorcery for the first time in this game as having a shield and casting magic and playing ranged might help me be able to manage enough to get through the game due to my limitations. I just wasn't sure if it was viable.

Sorcery can be quite strong if you build for it. I've never gone pure caster, though. Faith is good, be a Sunbro and hurl Lightning Spear all day. You can also do Pyromancies in conjunction with either one as well, since it doesn't rely on stats but rather leveling up the Pyro glove.

I'm such a dingus I made the same Artorias sword twice. I don't want to go through the whole game again, so I don't suppose anyone made the cursed version and would want to trade for the normal one?

Just got to Anor Londo with a SL1 Pyro (Jagged Ghost Blade +3, Grass Crest Shield, and Ascended Pyromancy Glove). This is the furthest I've ever made it on this game but I don't think I'll be able to beat Ornstein and Smough...

Don't give up now. Keep it up...

I had a blast on my SL1 run where I discovered the excellent Reinforced Club.

It seems like I'm fat rolling all the time in armor even though my equip load is not maxed out. Any way to alleviate this or not? Also I can solo Shadows of Yharnam yet get killed by random mobs here :( Bloodborne habits are not helping me here.

OCD question:

Can I remove reinforcement from a weapon? I have a +2 Claymore that I'm abandoning, and the collector stickler in me wants it vanilla.

Thanks, dewds.

Go get Havel's ring! Inreases your equip load by 50%. Go to the tower where you fight Taurus Demon and go down instead of up, and Havel will be at the bottom. Bait his swing attacks and backstab him

Also, if you free Lautrec by the Bell Gargoyle boss fight, he will appear at firelink shrine where the fire keeper is. You can kick him twice and he'll fall off the cliff, and you can reload the game and grab the items he drops. He drops the Ring of Favor and Protectio , which increases Health, Stamina and Equip Load by 20% and stacks with Havels ring. Just keep in mind that the FAP ring will break if uou take it off.

I haven't seen the Gank Squads in Anor Londo much? Where did they go? They were all over the PS3 version I remember.

Made it to the Taurus Boss but I struggle here a lot. There is so little space to dodge his attacks. Is there a trick to avoid his attacks?

Currently I'm level 24 going for a quality build. Finished Bloodborne before but non of the Dar Souls games so far.

just stay on his dick

literally

stay on his dick and roll towards him everytime he attacks

God dammit, I've either been killing bosses in 1-3 tries with S&O around 5 times, which feels super good. Manus already has me at +10 and I'm pissed the hell off, he has an attack that has like a second + delay that gets me almost every time. The magic isn't too bad to avoid with the pendant so I just have to get good at evading the attack that gives me trouble and picking the correct time to heal cause he has ridiculous reach.

Stuck on him as well. Last DLC boss.

Put the game down to watch a Detroit: Becone Hunan playthrough

Quick question, So i Never got into MP in DS3 but i read that DSR uses weapon matchmaking for summons and that you can only summon people with weapons close to your own. Well im trying to play a twink giant dad character and i just lost all my humanity to O+S. Im only sl13 so I figured my best bet would be to put my sign down by the gargoyles and help farm them for soft humanity but Im using a Chaos Zweihander +1 and my friend said no ones going to be able to summon me because of that.

Finished tonight. Artorias DLC was fantastic! Only died once to Bed of Chaos, surprisingly. Didn't even parry Gwyn. Had full Havel w/ BKGS and FAP ring. Its two-handed R2 is insane. Even better the second time!

I actually beat them yesterday solo with super Ornstein. The fight only is hard at times cause Ornstein has the move where he flies across the room and can hit you out of nowhere. I don't remember if it was a problem in the original, but I swear he's skipping frames or something and teleporting during it as well. If you can deal with that then the fight is not that bad imo. Smough is a cake walk. Use the base of the pillars, Ornstein is weak to pyro, and Smough is super weak to lightning, so I'd use that info to your advantage.

Fuuuuck, Quelaag walled the hell out of me. After 5+ tries without getting her below 80% health with my shitty Bandit Knife I said fuck it, used all my gathered soul items to get the remaining two levels in strength I needed and went in with the Black Knight Sword in both of my hands.

Still took me three more tries to kill her, but still. Damage aside, not depending on my shield to block everything (which it didn't anyway) and instead rolling out of the way really did wonders for my survivability.

What came after Quelaag, though. Choosing the Old Witch's Ring was a mistake.

PVP in the remaster is the WORST, but it isn't the game's fault. In the time since Dark Souls came out PVP builds have been optimized to an absurd degree. Anyone can easily put together a build that will utterly destroy any non PVP build in seconds. Player skill is almost irrelevant now.

In one full playthrough I had exactly one proper invasion fight. All the rest were crazy gold tracer builds or one shot magic builds that my PVE build couldn't touch.

For the first time since the game originally came out I prefer to play in offline mode. I don't think there's a solution the devs could (or should) provide, just felt like ranting.

Well I beat O&S on my first time ever fighting them

Am I not supposed to summon the sun guy to help? Is that considered easy mode or something? He basically kept Smough busy while I killed Ornstein, and then Smough alone was easy even after solaire died

Difficulty of that fight comes from having to deal with both at once. So yeah, if one was distracted, I'm sure it wasn't much of a challenge.

If it felt cheap to you, I'd recommend soloing bosses from now on. I summoned early on in Bloodborne (my first souls game) as I didn't know just how much it trivialised some bosses.

Agree with this - everyone feels so OP that its taken a bit of the shine off PVP. Oddly, my best fights have been against Dragon covenant.

Acquired all the lord souls. Now I have the DLC and final boss remaining. Savoring the regular game before NG+.

Quick question: how are summoners summoning up to 3 people?

First timer here, beat the Capra Demon on my first try. I'm not great at these games either.

I'm not gonna lie, I feel a bit special right now.

My sorcery run is going well. Getting thousands and thousands of souls from helping people beat bosses definitely helps.

I love how this game can still surprise you after having played it dozens of time. I legit didn't know about
the tail cut from Centipede Demon coming alive to attack you. I never saw this before, it always just dropped the Orange Charred Ring immediately. But this time it did. It's probably old news and all but for me it was the first time and I went WTF:

Just beat Capra demon and got into the depths. It took me about 4-5 tries to beat it, but I still think it's a fair fight. My only issue is the trees blocking the view. Otherwise it feels like most other bosses in this game, where you die and learn from your mistakes.

It's been a while, but things are coming back to me. Game is quite fun, even though I do prefer some of the gameplay tweaks that were made in DSIII and Bloodborne. This is making me want to pick up Dark Souls II again, because I dropped the game somewhere near the end, sold my PS3, re-bought it on PS4 but never got back into it.
