How do we feel about only being able to pledge to a single Faction per account starting with this week's Faction Rally?

I guess it will depend on how good or bad the grind is but I am generally against it in general. Limiting players to what they can do on different characters (which are usually different classes) is not something that should be added to the game long after the fact. We've been able to pledge to different Factions since the early days of D1.

Either way, since they are doing three Faction Rallies in Season 3, it's going to be frustrating if the grind is really bad and we're not able to get all the rewards within a week even if we play a lot.

I'm fine with it as it always seemed silly to be able to "pledge" multiple factions. I mean what's the point if you end up pledging all three anyways but the bigger problem was the event itself was the biggest non-event in Destiny's history. Make it meaningful and continue to evolve it into something truly unique and special and the account-wide thing will feel right.

That said, putting Catalysts behind factions seems a bit wrong as I really want the Graviton Lance and the Sunshot ones. Instead, I would rather see some really awesome class items that you need to grind for and leave the weapon/armor Catalysts to strikes/raids/crucible, etc.

As long as we can re-pledge with each rally, I don't mind. I main my Titan pretty heavily, and I'm only just getting around to leveling a Warlock now... It's w/e.

By "re-pledge," do you mean change it each Rally? You definitely will be able to.

But I think it would be cool if they changed it so that you can now change in the middle of a Rally. Like, if you play a shit ton and get everything needed, you can change your Faction. But obviously, 6 days as Dead Orbit and 1 day of New Monarchy would basically not help NM at all.

Yeah, that's what I meant.

And, hmm... I kind of agree. If there was some more flavor to the factions, like an actual adversarial rep system or something, I'd be against it, but as is they're just bars to fill anyway. Might as well make it switchable whenever.

Pledging to a single Faction per account is how it should have always been. Being able to pledge to all three with 3 different accounts made no sense and defeated the purpose of choosing a faction in the first place.

The bigger issue has always been having an actual incentive to actually pledge in the first place.

That said, I'm a little disappointed that they are putting catalysts as the focal point of the faction rally since if you're a PvP player, you really don't have a choice but to choose Dead Orbit because of the current meta where Graviton Lance is one of the top tier weapons.

Yea. That I can personally agree on. I really don't care enough about an emote. And that I think personally. Is the best item they could have for selling independently as they are. Versus armor, which is definitely a larger component, as it can be the archetype people want and look very good. Which while not influencing the game much. Still does considered the structure. The dawning was definitely a low point.

Yea I mean I think it's overall lame but just not worth freaking over, there are just some things in gaming that are gonna be stupid like that. Eververse in general is in a way better spot I feel so that's at least good

I'm okay with it as long as we're able to get all of the Faction's rewards within a week.

Otherwise, that's just annoying.

Got the shotgun and submac tonight running EP.

Its too easy. We were melting bosses with only 5-6 people, and easily farming wave 7.

Reducing the LL requirements ling before most of the community hit 385 was a mistake IMO.

I hope so, but they probably put grinding status for average players to get catalyst by pledgeing to same faction all 3 times. ;/

Everyone asked for the grind apparently.

Does anyone here sherpa raids on PS4? I'd love to run with some peeps from DestinyERA before I try my luck elsewhere. I've never run a raid (didn't play D1 at all) and would love to give 'em a go. Doesn't help that the last time I tried to plan a raid with my clan (back in Dec.) only 4 people signed on at the agreed upon time and we ended up just playing Trials. Even with Warmind out my clan is even more dead than it was before. I always have the urge to join people on LFG but I'm worried I'd just slow everyone down since I'm not familiar with all the raid mechanics outside of watching some YouTube guides.

I'm still hoping it's just a "band-aid" fix since there is such a stark difference in how easy it feels if you actually get a coordinated set of fireteams vs. true "random" people in the public space. The fact that they had the light level decrease ready to go at a moment's notice, presumably just to revert it back to how it was prior to the community summit event shortly before the DLC launch makes me want to think they are still exploring how to better tune it at this point.

What's your PSN? We usually run raids at night (US/central) & you're welcome to join. No prior knowledge required!

How late is central time do you play to? I'm dying to do more raids but I'm still noonish. Done leviathan but only in easy roles and never done the other 2. I'm in the UK but free from 3pm London time.

I think the problem is that the faction stuff lasts for a week every month. So it only matters once a week - which is very very lame.

I think they sort of got it right in D1 but just need a way to make it matter without time-gating.

Am I a dick for reporting someone to PSN for sending me private messages after a match about my crimson and how it makes me a certain sexual orientation and other really crude words?

So based on datamining, next week's rally will have 3 Eververse boxes with 3 emotes, one each, specific to the three factions.

Honestly these need to be in the pool for rewards from the activity. This is a bullshit new tactic from Bungie and while I give them the benefit of the doubt on most things, this is not one.

When people said they wanted a way to buy things directly, they did not mean make paying money the ONLY way to get them.
100% agree with this, it's a bad look for Bungie

16 hours, 389 tokens, 93 shaders, and...

76 HEROIC ADVENTURES

... I've seen five other players get the catalyst, yet nothing for me. Bungie can go fuck themselves with their shitty, ass backwards RNG. Absolute madness. At some point, throw me a fucking bone.

I'm beyond words at this point. I just can't believe this. There's grinding and then driving yourself to the point where you think there is something legitimately wrong with the game or your account.

This isn't okay. Imagine actually playing the game as intended, with the same odds. That's weeks or even months worth of time.

I feel like Bungie clearly designed catalysts to be completed naturally, through normal play. They're Bonuses. They didn't intend for people to laser focus on one, then move on to the next, then the next. Doing that is a surefire way to frustrate yourself.

Destiny isn't a sprint, or even a marathon. It's a leisurely 1,000 mile stroll.

These Heroic Strikes are a pain in the ass ... jesus.
The modifiers it currently has are terrible.

Also, when finishing one .. I'm glad Bungie fixed the loot ...

"HERE'S YOUR BLUE SHIT!"

Anyway, what's the softcap(s) right now?
I'm sitting at 351 and did every milestone, yet I gained one whole lightlevel ...
Legendary/Exotic engrams drop below my light level :-(

Am I the only person who appreciates harder strikes especially since I can't matchmake for NF

There's nothing wrong with "hard" strikes. However, there's still a huge problem with the LOOT. The Nightfall doesn't take 20~30 minutes to complete. Heroic Strikes do. When comparing the rewards, the Heroic Strikes are lacking, big time.

Even the milestone is bad, 1 easy nightfall for a powerful engram Vs 3 hard heroic strikes for 1 powerful engram....bungo plz...
