They put a bonfire in the Catacombs, I think they could've put one at the start of New Londo too. Part of what makes 4 Kings such a slog and makes you not want to try repeat attempts is the run there from Firelink.
Best way to get to the boss is be at the bonfire in Darkroot Basin, then to go through the big door in Valley of the Drakes and just sprint by most of the enemies.
So I've rang the first bell, killed Moonlight Butterfly and Havel, but I feel like I should be going towards Blightown rather than Darkroot Forest. Any pointers?
There is a bonfire, in one of the tunnels with an arc-style roof and with the slime enemies above (like 5-6 of the slime enemies and one undead with a torch near end). At the end of the hallway there is a bonfire.
Four Kings have a very limited moveset, once you know the tells for each of the few moves the fight becomes a doddle as long as you have decent DPS. It's very satisfying to learn a fight like 4 Kings, as it's temtping to just wack on Havels or the Stone set and tank it, but really all their moves are very easy to dodge and by tanking and chugging estus you never really learn the fight and can always see it as a scary challenge.
I have beaten them before. Each time I start a new game every couple of months I forget HOW I did something the previous time (well more like what weapons and armor I was wearing).
Dammit that's the 2nd firekeeper soul I've missed...that I know of. Ate the first one (lol) and now I'm in Anor Londo with no way back to Blighttown (as of yet).
I neglected to get it my first trek because it was a suicide run (had barely any protection). Zoomed from the valley of the drakes short cut, down and instead of getting to the bonfire I was at Quelaags base. I won the battle..... and homeward boned out instead of suicide running back lol.

Go to Darkroot Basin, as far down as you can go and it'll bring you to a Black Knight guarding a bonfire in a tunnel. Go through that tunnel and use the elevator at the end, and you'll be in Valley of the Drakes. From there you'll be able to get into Blighttown easier, and New Londo Ruins easier via a shortcut later on too.
The DLC area is kicking my sorry ass. I'm probably around level 75, but I just barely made it past the first boss and I'm getting sorely punished for any misstep past that. Not sure if I need to go boost up my stats elsewhere or just stop thinking I have to kill everything that moves.
Don't kill Sif until you've done the DLC if you want the alternative cutscene.
As for Blighttown and VoD - I would suggest going through Blighttown forwards rather than backwards on a 'first' playthrough, skipping 90% of an area isn't that much fun to me. Valley of Drakes connects several areas and is more a corridor to pass through than an area by itself, sooner or later you'll come up on it.
I never bothered with sidequests until now with this remastered edition. This guy died in lost izalith, eventhough I killed like 3 or 4 of those chaos eaters and even damaged the last one, he couldn't even manage to stay alive with more than 50% health -_-
Man exactly the same thing happened to me last night. Snipped at the monsters and left one alive with barely a sliver left... fucking Siegmeyer gets himself grabbed and eaten. ;_; RIP my slab.
Truth be told I didn't really need it, I'm using a twinkling titanite weapon but still... could have transferred it to another character and all. Sigh.
Working on it but lost all motivation. Just became a lvl1 dickwraith but can no longer invade in low-lvl areas due to the weapon upgrade restrictions :c Probably my favorite thing to do in Dark Souls.
So glad about this. Thank you From. And I say this as someone who has been spamming invasions since launch. If there's no chance of you dying and you OHKO everyone, how is this fun? You're just breaking the game. Good riddance to Dickwraiths.

Demon Firesage, who is currently handing me my ass repeatedly. I thought Stray Demon was easy, too... Maybe I need to go back to under 25% load and be quick again
I'm playing on both PS4 and PC and honestly I haven't run into any hackers on PC yet. (Though I know it happens) Backing up your save on PC is very simple however the PS4 version runs great. I'm just playing wherever my friends are.
EDIT: Go back to Undead Asylum by curling up into a ball in the crows nest above Firelink Shrine. (if you don't know where this is, you may need to look it up)
When you arrive, snuggly's nest will be just around the corner to your left on the edge of a cliff.
A Bluepoint remaster of Demon's Souls would rise to the top of my post-E3 purchasing list, especially as I never played the original. Going through Dark Souls Remastered has ignited my passion.

Capra Demon himself is actually pretty easy, it's just the right environment and dogs that make it tough. Run to back on the stairs and take the dogs out first, then it should be easy enough.
Just keep going forward and enter Blighttown via the Depths. If you die you'll be at the Depths bonfire with a shortcut unlocked anyway, so it's not far.
I just beat that boss and it irritating as hell if you don't know what to do. After a couple of tries I managed to kill the dogs pretty fast. The boss itself became easy after that.

This is terrible advice. Telling them to continue to Blighttown while they're cursed?
Couscous If you are at the Depths bonfire, you can exit the Depths and return to Firelink somewhat quickly by backtracking. You can buy a Purging Stone from the zombie lady in that tunnel. It's 6K souls though. If you want a cheaper one, you can continue on to Firelink, use the elevator shortcut back to the Undead Parish, and talk to Oswald of Carim in the Bell tower, he sells them for 3k.
The snuggly option is a bit more out of the way.
You need to use that same elevator shortcut, drop off that platform, then roll onto that tiny square ledge and follow the path to the crow's nest (make sure you pick up the key from the rooftop, you'll see a glowing item, that's the key). But it's worth going there if you're going to Blighttown anyway. Curl up in the nest, go back to Undead Asylum.
Kill the fire hollows, then turn to your left when facing the Asylum door. There's a platform sticking out with a nest, you should hear a voice making crow noises and asking for soft/warm items. If you have cracked eye orbs, you can drop 1 in the nest, reload, and pick up a Purging Stone. You can find cracked red eye orbs in a chest near Firelink, too.
Explore the rest of the Asylum, with the key you picked up you can get a very good ring for Blighttown.
This stinks I wanted the woodgrain ring from the forest ninja, but I didn't want to break the covenant, so I got one of the fire bugs in Blighttown to kill him. Unfortunately, I was still blamed for his death. Now I have to pay for absolution...and deal with the forest covenant guys in the woods again...
The bug also killed the eastern swordsman/shopkeeper dude. Is he gone for good, or does he respawn if I rejoin the forest covenant?
invaders are starting to annoy me. All I've been getting are back stab fishers. Also, I don't remember combustion being this bullshit in invasions. I'm like 5 feet away from that shit, and I still get hit.
Also, I love how bamco/from left all the bugs that weren't fixed in the original in the remaster.

RIP Shiva. Most NPCs do not respawn. I think the only one who can't die in this one is the Crow. (Frampt can't die but I think he goes away for the rest of the playthrough if you attack him too much, IIRC)

The zombie lady also sells moss, which is very useful for Blighttown (they're also farmable from the bush-monsters in Darkroot Garden). You'll want at least a couple before venturing into Blighttown. Going into Blighttown well-prepared is the difference between a miserable experience and a relatively benign (by Souls level standards) one. :D

The one that feels fastest to me is a run down from Firelink. Take the first twisting staircase in New Londo and then drop off the right, go up the ladder you kicked down earlier, and then around that one walkway -- with the pass through the building where it's broken -- and drop off right in front of the fog gate. You don't even have to run past the Darkwraiths. Shown here.
