I mean, the kid drafted today will likely be a few years away.
at that point if moncada and anderson are still doing well and the kid pans out they could just trade one of them for a need and use the kid.
or if one of those two get hurt ect.
it doesn't hurt to have depth.

Gorman was considered the 12th best while the person they drafted was considered the 2nd best.
All four of Royals' first round picks are college pitchers. Not the way I would have gone, even with one or two being steals, since I would prefer to draft bats first and try and get some pitchers that were/are dropping. Pitching is the main problem in the lower parts of the Royals system since there's Pratto, Melendez and Matias in the low minors far as batters go that are doing very well. I still think the Royals should have gotten some hitters.
Liberatore and Singer both dropping 11 spots probably is meaningful

though to be fair I know that happened with Chris Sale, whom people feared would injure himself with his odd delivery which allowed the white sox to get him. So it's not like those always turn out to be bad things.

Just got to Triple A, started 5 games. I doubt he gets called up until September unless the Yankees suffer more SP injuries.
