I know it's off topic but we're slow here and a stand-alone thread will die immediately, so: anyone into the other college ball sports currently on? I'm still salty Florida got bounced in the WCWS but we've looked iffy for a while. Hoping U-Dub takes it from FSU next two games.

Meanwhile Florida baseball is #1 overall seed and looking shaky as well. Losing JJ Schwartz sucked balls; we might get him back for supers if we don't choke away this lead against FAU and advance. Back-to-back homers tonight again from India (taken 5th overall by Reds) and Dalton. Good stuff.

The winner of the Texas Tech v Duke Super Regional this weekend will be the only school in the country to make the final 8 in both basketball and baseball. They also both made the final 8 in golf.

They can't even hold our jockstraps in wool judging, though.

Duke took it to Joe'ja and I enjoyed watching Ole Miss blow it to Tennessee Tech. Meanwhile, SEC baseball is looking pretty overrated at this point.

If Florida went all the way, we'd have back-to-back basketball, baseball and softball titles. I don't see it though.

Interesting that Kyler Murray is planning on playing QB for OU while getting paid $4.8 million by the A's. He will be making more money than Lincoln Riley

What's interesting is that that is fine with the NCAA because he's getting paid for another sport. But if he were to get paid $10 under the table for football we wouldn't be having this discussion.

I was wondering how that would work when I saw he was drafted

Kyler needs to take the damn money. When he gets measured at the NFL combine he'll measure in at like 5'9 and 3/4ths" and no team would dare take him as a QB and he's not that good of an RB so he would be screwed.

Apparently he can play QB this year for OU and take the money from the A's since they're separate sports. Now, why the A's are okay with paying almost $5 million to them when he's not with any of their minor league teams, I don't know.

But yeah, as it stands now, Kyler Murray will be starting at QB as a multimillionaire baseball player.

Not CFB related, but this long form piece on what has happened with the USMNT the last 7 or so years and why they didn't make the WC is discussed.

TLDR, Klinsmann fucked everything up.

Speaking about the night the US was eliminated by Trinidad and Tobago

Asked if there was a single snapshot of that night burned into their memory, multiple players recall the sight of Pulisic, the most blameless person in the entire catastrophe, still in full uniform, weeping in the shower.

In a regional tournament that the United States usually wins or loses in the final to archrival Mexico, Klinsmann's team placed fourth after losing a consolation match to Panama. In the aftermath, Klinsmann blamed the poor results on referees, and privately told U.S. Soccer officials that he believed some of the matches were rigged.

Fuck Klinsmann indeed.

I mean, this is definitely an efficient way of cleaning yourself if you're already at the lake. I actually think that Saban would love for a drive through shower to be created. You know, something automated that he doesn't have to worry about that he can multitask by watching film during it.

I was listening to NPR this morning and apparently the BBC took the wraps off of a story they've been working on for two years - two years of undercover video of African soccer officials taking and paying bribes - including to referees who were calling international matches. So maybe Klinsmann is on to something here. (But he still sucks)

FIFA is incredibly corrupt. Burn it to the ground. While I wouldn't rule out match fixing having an impact, the US was playing like shit and everything that Klinsmann did was awful.

I'm still firmly in the camp that athletics should not exist at Penn State, Baylor, or Michigan State. I don't know if there's anyone that can convince me otherwise.

No, I 100% agree. But Godfrey brought up a good point I hadn't even thought of. Death penalty to even one program would cost the conferences so much money in TV revenue. That's why we will never see the death penalty again.

In a just world all three would have been nuked and sent to hell but alas. Money talks.

Rained out today, so it will have to wait. I'm actually planning on throwing the driver disc as far as possible on every hole, even if its passed the hole. I want to impress her with my length

Don't have one really.

We despise Penn State but they dont give a fuck about us.

Buut it's the same problem Penn State has as their want to be rival doesn't give a fuck about them.
