You know what, the original teaser has Miles in a cemetery so I'm thinking Hero Spidey does die and that's why Hobo Spidey is training Miles.

Also the scene with Kingpin and the thing exploding looks like a gateway or portal so that's probably what causes all the different Spideys to show up. I'm assuming that's also what Hero Spidey is fighting Prowler on, and what Miles in his Legit Costume swings onto towards the end of the trailer.

I've been waiting for this movie for years, and it's finally coming together. Glad to see it reach more people with these trailers.

Interesting that the trailer is on Marvel's channel too. I thought it looked good. Competition in December will be stiff.
Marvel Entertainment is helping produce the film in some way as well. Not really sure what they get out of it other than a cut of the profits and exposure but who knows.

This is not completely accurate. They are on 2s, but for fast movements and scenes they are still animated on 1s, at least the Disney stuff. They even did 1s in their animated tv series frequently and I think the animation in this movie, but also other CGI movies trying to replicate hand drawn animation would look better if they did switch to 1s in fast paced moments.
Interesting, thanks for sharing : )

  1. This looks phenomenal, even if the blurriness reminded me of watching a 3d film with no glasses.
  2. What's wrong with comic Miles Morales? I don't read comics. I wiki them shits, and try to read Slayven 's posts for knowledge, LOL.

Miles in comics have a very flat personality, he is regularly outshined by his supporting cast. Like if he didn't have superpowers he would get forgotten

Looks cool, but something about Peter seems off to me. He looks and sounds like the bum everyone always accuses him of being. :lol

Damn Slayven is about the be wrong about a Miles and a Carol adaptation within the span of 4 months.

His comic book-loving heart is about to grow 3 sizes in a day.

The best way to describe comic Miles is that he's literally Peter Parker lite. You don't get a sense of why we should care about him other than yay, Spider-Man powers. His origin story in current Marvel Comics also doesn't help and it's convoluted as fuck. Here Miles feels like his own character with distinct traits and not wisecracking Peter-Parker-Man.

Chances me and the 12 other Silk fans get some representation? :D

IF not we will storm Marvel headquarters

I mean, it looks cool from a setting perspective, but I'm not sure I like the "stop motion" like animations. It's like 20 fps? Sometimes?

Miles in the Ultimate Universe had his own world to explore his character. Then Marvel killed that's universe, placed Miles in 616, and he's mostly skating by. He still hasn't interesting stories and powers exclusive to him but Marvel and/or the writer aren't treating him like an A-list hero. I mostly place the blame on Marvel than Bendis.

You never know, it could be leaping multi-verses but yeah, I took it as him going into camo. They still haven't shown his venom blast so we don't know if he has the same powers as he usually does.

Yep, I was okay with them borrowing Ganke but they don't get to keep him.

Yeah, but if they use him know people not in the know will just say they copied and stole him for this movie.

Who knows maybe Judge will get a chance to shine finally.

Outside of Bendis the Venom Sting OP (which is always the first go-to complaint, understandably), Miles' comics always had this stop and go issue. Bendis did the origin story of Miles really well but then after that the book was constantly tying into Major Events happening in the Ultimate Universe, without ever properly developing Miles' personal world first.

And then Miles book got a retool with a year timeskip and it seemed like it was finally going to get some breathing room, but then Marvel decides to pull the plug on the Ultimate Universe entirely and move Miles over into the main universe.

Retool #2, just three years after the character debuted, Miles is now in the main universe. No less than 5 issues into this new room, the book is already getting derailed to entirely revolve around the Civil War 2 event. And then after that there's this big crossover with Spider-Gwen. And by the time Bendis is finally settling down and promising to devote time to properly build up Miles and his supporting cast, whoops we get announcement that he's leaving Marvel to work for DC.

So yeah, there's been a lack of stability with his run, properly setting up him and his supporting cast, developing his own Rogues Gallery, and really going deep into his quirks. Add to that, Bendis just does not really care for combat scenes so he would often use the Venom Sting as an easy out.

That said, the best things about his comics was Miles' relationships with his Dad, Uncle (which both seem to be getting highlighted here), and Ganke (which Homecoming just straight up ripped off with Ned Leeds lol).

Nah it's Bendis, I've said this for a while but Bendis really ain't shit unless he has some older writer's work to feed off. His Ultimates Miles stuff was mostly just him spinning wheels.

How many arcs has Miles' comic book had, in Ultimate and 616, without being interrupted by whatever mega-event was going on at the time?

Serious question, probably for Slayven, lol. Feels like not many.

I'm 50/50 with Bendis and his Miles was ok. I disagree on that's end.

In Ultimate it was like 2 or 3 major story arc should before Secret Wars.

Wait, this is coming to theaters? I thought this was some direct to DVD animated movie like the DC ones.

Why on earth are they putting a Spiderman cartoon in theaters?
