Yeah, this wasn't so bad at all. Even ran into a public event in the middle of one for some bonus tokens.
These cosmology kills on the GL catalyst are going to take forever. I had at least 3 different chains with 6-8 kills in each....3% done. While enemies killed is at 18%
ouch, there is no way I can get to rank 50 with only 6 hours to play the game between now and Sunday
I haven't used my Warlock since the DLC dropped, so since the Faction rally is now account based, can I just blitz my Lock through all the PE's to level up and still get the coin drops towards level 50 that my Titan started?

The same rewards will be there next time? When is the next one? Season 4?
The winner's reward will probably change, but all the rank up rewards should be the same in S3. There should be three rallies in the season so the next one should be next month.

It's 1000 (!) kills with the explosion, same for Sunshot.

If they actually played their own game they wouldn't swing around so wildly. Perhaps that's why they're hiring outsiders now to come tell them how things should be.
You should have a week to spend them after it ends and then they disappear. There should be 3 faction rallies prior to season 4 (Foresaken). There are clans for all of the platforms, you just need to say which one you're on.

We have a couple newbie runs for Any in the Golden Era Warriors that has yet to run Leviathan. There are 2 spots open for sunday at 8pm bst/3pm Est and 4 spots open for Sat night at 8pm est.
Please check-in on the clan discord so you can sign up. I know most of you are on the server, but check in and sign up as thee newbie runs are important so you can run with normal crews more often!

I stupidly took off my Titan chest piece so I could use Armamentarium, without realzing you need all five faction pieces on in order to get credit for doing the 25 heroics for the chest ornament. Ugh. Gonna have to grind more tonight. It was about five or so, but still. Dumb move on my part.

Did rallies reset each time they showed up before? I'm sure they won't this time given the end goal bungie has put out there.
No reset this season. If you don't max out, you can continue.

...some of what I suspected is true in that they shoot for 6 solo players (which is why you never see more than 5 other players when entering) in these spaces while reserving spots for a fireteam (creating a max of 9 payers).

Man I want to like Mayhem but it's so fun-police-y when most people on the other team are tether hunters.
I didn't realize the daily challenge is only 15 bonus tokens. Somehow I was thinking doing the daily challenge gets you 40 per char because of the 1st day.
Even adding in say 10 for looting the sector, an easy 25 per char=75 is a lot different than 40 per char=120 per day. Makes the math a lot harder.
Oh well, this is the first time I've used my alts in Warmind, so it's kinda nice to start leveling them up as a side effect of getting daily challenges with them. BTW, do you miss out on anything by not doing the campaign on alts? It used to be you were locked out of stuff, but being the backlash against that,. I have no clue anymore.
Honestly, it's SOOOO much superior grinding tokens on a void hunter than anything else. The invis dodge+heal is just unbeatable. Yeah, void Warlock has devour+healing rift, but when you're used to that quick dodge-invis get out of jail free card with hunter, it fucking sucks. Died like 8 times today with 5 renown on my Warlock to stupid shit. I'm sure if you get used to the class vagaries it gets a lot better, but yeh. Playing with a non-hunter class feels like being stuck in mud with 5 renown. Even if you're caught in crossfire and pop rift, first there's a delay that you usually die in, second well, you're still caught in crossfire and mud, you didn't go anywhere unlike invis dodge. Plus that 2-3 seconds of invis is great for running to chests across open spaces full of enemies rather than painstakingly having to fight your way through them, etc.
The only downside is you dont get a strong boss killing super which can be a significant downside on some sector bosses, but since lately I'm just doing the Titan Cargo Bay 3 Ogre lost sector which you can just snipe, it's really not needed.
So far I'm like 40+% on my Darci catalyst, been carrying it as much as possible popping low level add heads anytime I get some down time a chance to advance that.
Part of me kinda gets bummed when I realize many of these catalysts dont really matter (such as probably the darci one) and they're a big time sink, but I guess, that's this game for ya.
So far I think I have Tractor Cannon, Darci, and of course Polaris Lance catalyst. Besides working on GL of course.
BTW in PVP I notice you get 2 faction tokens for losses and 5 for wins. If you can win a lot and like crucible, it wouldn't be an awful way to farm. 8 matches would be 40 tokens. But yeah solo, your win rate will be bad. Need a team. But for me, it's nice that playing crucible which is like my fun time in the game, will at least help you out a bit for the Catalyst.

I'm started thinking about that too. I was trying so hard to get 5 renown, then you die and have to regain the one you lost, sectors are kinda slow, etc. I was like, I could just be doing PE's and be getting more tokens probably.
It's more the community. Say they want grind, then something is hard (like catalysts) oh no, this is too hard.
I notice the community always blames Bungie never themselves because well, that's what people do. It's always the other guy's fault, it's never your fault. But IMO a lot of the community's idea about what's best for this game would ruin it.

I don't agree. Sure, there will always be some people who do that with everything. Every game ever that changes over time. Something having a very rough RNG rate is not "hard." It's annoying. The vast majority of people aren't complaining about the catalysts when they get them -- they're complaining that they don't drop enough.
The reward of a catalyst is a fun boost to weapons but it's also arguable that the "grind" needed to get a random drop for such a reward is too much. If it were an incredibly awesome Exotic (such as the Gjallarhorn) or Strike-exclusive loot (such as the Flayer Mantle cloaks in D1) with the RNG rate of catalysts, that is more understandable.
There is a balance that needs to be had. It will never be perfect but there are valid things to complain about. Another example is reaching max light. Adding to the grind and having it take longer is good but there should still be more ways to achieve that. Clan engrams should drop at max light levels as the Milestone engrams do, for example.
We also shouldn't have had to complain to Bungie that Heroic Strikes had a 340 loot soft cap. That's absolutely something they should have realized was a poor decision given how difficult they are at that point. It wasn't so much the difficult of the Heroic Strikes that was an issue but the lack of reward in relation to that difficulty. If it doesn't help get your light level up and there are literally zero strike-exclusive loot that can drop, that's not the community's fault.
I've now got a full set, so now doing one PE and then jumping into the closest lost sector is 13-15 tokens depending on whether I can nab a quick patrol during the PE or find a HVT. Winding cove > lost sector > Gulch > lost sector > some other PE in the EDZ is what I've been doing.
Unfortunately I just realized if I want the health regen helmet on the hunter (pretty sure I do) I cant use my recently acquired fullset of DO armor :(. Oh well,, pretty sure the health regen is more important, I think, to speedrunning shit. The DO set just gives you more renown right? Not actually more tokens?
Maybe I'll play with it and see if I can get by with Crimson for added health regen or something. Although I haven't tried it yet, problem is HC's are a close range weapon and well, you dont want to be close to enemies. Could try Suros too, a bit more range but only a "chance". Any other exotic guns replenish health? Also, anything (ability) to replenish health on the Titan? I know devour and healing rift on the Warlock and heal helmet/dodge on the hunter. Not so familiar with Titans perks.
Barricade definitely helps on Titan it ensconces you pretty snugly. But it's not 100% for side fire and no health regen is still a biggie.
