This is the same company that is remaking live action versions of their biggest cartoon films. If they buy Fox and gain Blue Sky and this movie is successful, you think they'd just say no to money?

We could finally get a Namor film!

Any long term connected universe projects they take on would be directly taking away from other projects they already have planned, near or far future, and will likely be just as profitable.

It's possible, as anything is I just dont see the profit motive in it. Maybe with Blue Sky, but I'd imagine Disney knows they're best suited to just let them do their thing without too much involvement, instead of forcing them to do who knows how many animated superhero films.

This is what I've gotten out of the trailer after watching it a few times.

I think the Prowler is stealing tech from Oscorp for Kingpin. The explosion that happens in the scene with him seems to feature a few scientists as well and it is probably a portal opening to another dimension.

Miles for whatever reason happens to be there when Spider-Man is fighting the Prowler and gets bit. This Spider-Man is from his universe and ends up dying. Maybe it's in his fight against the Goblin.

Somehow Older Peter comes across and decides to train him.

Was she still in high school when she became Spider-Woman in her universe?

Trailer looks cool, that being said. Was it just YouTube that stuttered? I felt like the trailer had janky FPS throughout.

The movie version of Rio is gonna show more of her Puerto Rican heritage than her comic version. I don't think she speaks any spanish at all in the comics.

It's probably so they can act as young foils to Adam Sandler Spiderman.....I hope

It's funny how she's a ballerina here when she's a rock musician I think punk rock in the comic

Yeah she's a drummer for a girl punk band in the comics called The Mary Janes, and generally dresses in a alt/riot grrrl style. I don't know why the fuck they made her a ballerina Im kinda uneasy about that.

Her character seems to be the same but more of a people person being a natural leader, I don't remember being a thing in the comic

It's an ........interesting addition

Her being in a band still probably plays a big part in her character. It has to considering that's most of her character and it would be foolish to toss it away. But this isn't her solo movie so I doubt they'll delve deep into her backstory other than her getting bit by the spider instead of Peter.

That looks GORGEOUS. Usually limited framing for CG looks awkward as shit, but they managed to make it work!

Interesting that Gwen is 15 in this movie.
Was she still in high school when she became Spider-Woman in her universe?

They probably didn't want a college age Gwen making out with high school Miles.

This is actually clever. I think Miles + Spider-Gwen is actually sort of a genius move, even more so if we are pushing the interdimensional aspect of Miles and Spider-Gwen.

They really aged gwen down. She's like 20 in the comics currently and she got her powers at 17. Please GOD I hope they don't make her miles love interest.

Miles is 13 here so he could be in the last year of middle school.
I hope they don't try to push a romance angle though.

I'd be lying if I said that Miles + Gwen didn't weird the fuck out of me in comics. But making her younger you still can have the punk rock aspect to her AND make for an interesting fling between the two characters that actually would benefit both. Permanent? Nah, I'm thinking Supes and Wonder Woman back in the Byrne era kind of thing, sort of an will they, won't they thing. Making her slightly older and not a freaking adult while Miles is a teenager makes this actually intriguing to me.

So Gwen isn't going by Ghost-Spider?

I thought I heard that they were trying to rename her that in the comics.

The chromatic aberration DoF effect was my least favorite stylistic choice and I'm still not sure how I'll feel about it in the film, but at least seeing the comic book inspiration for the effect at least has me respect it more. I'm surprised I didn't realize that is what they were going for earlier despite noticing all the comic book half-tone dots.

That's her new name for the upcoming animated movie called Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors.
Ah, I see.
