My own Father flipped out on me when I told him we decided to ditch our doctor and go with a midwife instead.
If you don't know what it's like have people around you think you are ridiculous, try being openly vegan.
And, if you don't know what it's like to have the entire world openly criticize, judge, throw uninformed opinions, and curse you - try being an openly pregnant vegan on Instagram, having a natural, drug-free home birth in water with a midwife and doula, who has the intention of raising a vegan child, without vaccinations.

My point being: I already know what it's like to make life choices that are not the same as the majority. So your negative comments are not going influence my choices - actual research and educating myself will - which i am diligently doing.
This is my body. This is our child. And this is our pregnancy journey.

I'm so tired of these idiots. She can't handle the criticism thrown at her so she dismisses everyone's comments as though they are just opinions and not facts. She makes even more idiotic comments in her responses.

Raise a vegan child..so first not let your kid eat what he likes and go from here, forcing him instead.

And no vaccinations? We all know how this will end..stupidity at it's finest.

Nothing wrong with having a midwife, a home birth, or a water birth. Raising a vegan child...eh...there's room for debate there. Give the kid options and let them decide later.

But not vaccinating is idiotic and it's a shame she's trying to link it with all her other decisions.

She deserves all the crap she is getting for it.

She is literally putting her child at risk because of her own ignorance and desperate need to be able to say to people, "See? I told you!"

And it's hilarious that she's comparing being treated differently for being a vegan to refusing to vaccinate your child.

Idiot.

Children don't get to eat what they like. They can always decide to eat meat when they get older.

Anti-vaxxers will be the end of us. Politicians need to stop being cowards and make vaccinations mandatory.

Edit: If shes to dumb to vaccinate her baby shes probably not going to be able to make sure the baby gets everything it needs nuttition wise while keeping it vegan. Some people shouldn't be allowed to have kids.

I don't know if I feel more sorry for the child because (s)he won't be getting vaccinations, or because (s)he will have to be vegan.

No, that's backwards. There's plenty wrong with it unless their nutrition is being very carefully supplemented, and that's a lot of work that often doesn't get done properly. Much more responsible to feed the child a balanced diet until they're old enough to make the decision for themselves later. I know several vegans who do just that, and consider it the only responsible choice as a parent.

But then, they also vaccinate their kids, too, so I'm sure Kat wouldn't approve.

She had me up until the vaccination shit. All of her decisons can be back up by pretty good scientific research. All of them except that last one. Wild and dangerous shit that is.

My god it really is just stupidity from top to toe:

1) Unsolicited advice? This is new on Instagram, I had no idea!
2) My dad is totalllllly pissing me off he doesn't understand how different I am
3) It's the baby's choice if it wants to catch diseases and not eat right!
4) Natural is better. Always better. We were all healthier 5000 years ago
5) INCLUDING NATURAL BIRTHING BECAUSE REASONS
6) All of your opinions are just opinions, I researched mines via raw vegan Youtubers
7) Telling me I'm wrong is BAAAADDDD ENERGYYYYY

I won't hide it, I have these fucking idiots in my life too

I hate that idiots like this promote veganism alongside dangerous pseudoscience. Hopefully people on this forum are smart enough to realise that veganism has nothing to do with anti-vac movements though and that there is nothing wrong with raising a child in a vegan home providing you pay attention to nutrition like any responsible parent.

Lol.

You do not need to very carefully suppliment a vegan diet. B12 Is found in many fortified foods.

A vegan diet is perfectly balanced if you actually know how to cook.

Raising your kid vegan, whatever. Naming him Leafar?...whatever.
Anti-vaxx tho, fuck her. Wasn't she also accused back in the day of being an anti-semite?

Seriously what at people in here. I'm only against her not vaccinating her child. There is nothing wrong with her raising her child on a vegan diet.

The child will never know the taste and pleasure of a grilled cheese sandwich or an ice cream sundae. I think I'd rather have measles than give that up.

I want to post that video of a guy in an office with two piles of paper (one stacked way high and the other just a single few pages stapled together) telling a woman that we have thousands of studies that say vaccines don't cause Autism and one that says it does, and the woman grabs the one paper and says "I knew it" and leaves

But I can't for the love of me find it,

because legit Kat Von D is that woman.

You say that like there aren't vegan cheeses and vegan ice creams available in 2018

And like I said as long as they dont force them to be vegan outside of the house meals I don't see a problem with it

Anti-vaxxers are child abusers in my eyes. She didn't do any "actual research" to get to her anti-vaxxer beliefs, she just followed confirmation bias conspiracy theories.

One of those things is not like the others...
If her kid dies she should go to jail for child abuse and endangerment. Shame nothing can be done about the other children she's going to put at risk for her stupid decision. Aside from keeping her kid out of school that is.

She was okay up until the "actual research and educating myself will" part.

But now...derp.

You just described most parents. I would imagine children with vegan parents have slightly more nutritional diets than those who don't. It's not really that hard and you avoid most of the unhealthy processed foods and takeaways by default

Serious question. What has caused the sudden rise of antivaxxers? In my opinion, its an incredibly selfish choice, that puts your own and other kids life in danger

The consequences are real and dangerous, we all know we can say when the baby even dies 'we told you so' being ignorant and obtuse about it clearly shows how irresponsible they already are.

Vegan ice cream is not bad.

Vegan cheese on the other hand... Yeah not quite there yet.
I agree actually. However the vegan cheeses I've had taste the most cheeselike when they're cooked in to something or heated and melted like in pasta. So I think vegan grilled cheese is ok

Once I made a Mac n cheese grilled cheese with bacon on it though and that was probably a years worth of cholesterol in one dinner

Vegan dairy alternatives tend to have the vague texture of dairy products and basically none of the flavor. To call them "cheese" or "ice cream" is largely a misnomer.

Given this woman's level of obstinacy about something as batshit as anti-vaccination, what do you think the odds are that she will be more lenient about diet when dining out?
