Activision Blizzard's 'Call of Duty: WWII' retains the No1 spot for the All Formats Chart in its second week since launch. Its second week figure tops 'Fifa 18s' second week, making it the highest selling second week for a title of not only this year, but 2016 as well.

'Fifa 18' does climb one position into No2 this week, pushing Ubisoft's 'Assassin's Creed Origins' in the opposite direction down to No3.

EA's new release 'Need for Speed Payback' debuts in at No4, one place below what its predecessor 'Need for Speed' did back in 2015. Sega have 2 new releases in the top 10 this week with 'Sonic Forces' debuting in at No5 and 'Football Manager 2018' in at No10. Elsewhere in the top 40 we have 2 more new releases in Microsoft's 'Super Lucky's Tale' in at No23 and EA's 'The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs' at No27.

Will echo what I said in the other thread, Switch version of Sonic seems to have done great at retail

Waiting for the individuals to see how Doom did

Agreed. Looks purty.

Posted in the other thread but that Nintendo Switch bump for Sonic Forces is real. Kind of surprising to me how well it charted overall in the UK given lackluster critical reception. Then again, it's a Sonic game which will always have its share of nostalgia attached.

We should not forget its budget price: that must have played a role as well. But yeah, legit surprised.

With the rise of digital WWII's 2nd week might very well be higher than Infinite Warfare's opening week, or at least very close to it. If my numbers are correct WWII sold about 294k (rounded) units during its 2nd week while Infinite Warfare's sold 328k during its opening week.
Edit: small spelling mistake

Not really. Third week of Odyssey sales on the Switch install base compared to first week of Sonic sales on all three (four?) formats and it barely outsold it. Also keep in mind it's Sonic in the UK and it's priced cheaper which again is a big deal in the UK and I think it says good things about Odyssey. It will be back above it next week.

Good call. Price point definitely helps.

To compare it to Sonic Mania, Sega claimed it would have taken the #1 spot in UK its launch week if digital sales were counted right. I don't know if public unit sales figures were ever posted, though.

What if I live in a world where Odyssey still ranked above a Sonic Forces launch, waluigi.

Install base + price + old game

What are people expecting from it?

I'm not saying it's bad. Just saying it's not.... impressive?

Besides, installed base doesn't actually matter as much as people think. Most games early into a console lifecycle will have significantly higher attach rates than later releases.

Yea, 3k copies sold in launch week isn't good sales. Especially in the launch year of the Switch.

Guess Wolfenstein isn't going to fare much better since it was the less popular game.

Yeah, that's how I felt when seeing it did 1/10 of PS4. Nothing spectacular, but nothing that should be considered bad. UK hasn't taken to Switch that much, so I do expect better performance in most other regions.

Damn so it outsold IW 1st week on 2nd week.

Yeah it's not setting the charts on fire, to say the least. Reminds me of FIFA for Switch. Too bad because those are two great Switch games.

Damn, those Switch Doom numbers aren't looking good, shame as it seems like a very good port. Although I agree with the, they should have sold it at a discounted price.
I wonder if the Switch would be a heavily digital leaning userbase. I think having a digital collection would be very nice on a handheld.

Doom was third on the charts when I checked yesterday, a few places above Sonic Forces.

It's a 1.5-year-late-port at full price, that alone puts it on a different level compared to a simultaneous release like FIFA. Not great, but absolutely not a bad result. Basically, decent (maybe slightly more than that), as said by others.

I'd love to know Bethesda's expectations for DOOM on Switch in terms of sales. If only because i'm seeing people jumping to some big conclusions here.

The game sold 2,5 million on the other platforms with some heavy discounting within its first year on the market.

Wouldn't surprise me if expectations for the Switch version are set considerably lower considering it's full price.

Doom sales are decent at best. Hopefully Skyrim ones will be better. This kind of puts the FIFA sales into a different light.
