I enjoy watching this Jalen Beeks kid pitch. I hope he pitches many more games for the Boston Red Sox.

I hate Chris Davis. He was useless as a Ranger, and I couldn't believe he "blossomed" with the Orioles like he did but he's gone right back to being the same useless slugger he was in Texas. He wasn't even good for very long.

How did he elude PED testing all those years. It's the only explanation.

Lol the Angels say no.
Idk. Pujols is equally as terrible and has 100 million left on his contract. With Davis there is at least some hope that he will return to form since he is 32. Now of course it will never happen since Pujols has a full NTC. But its fun to think about.

Pujols

2018 - 27 million
2019 - 28 million
2020 - 29 million
2021 - 30 million

10-year, $10M personal-services contract begins once player contract expires

Davis

2018 - 23 million
2019 - 23 million
2020 - 23 million
2021 - 23 million
2022 - 23 million

$42M in deferred money is to be paid in 10 installments of $3.5M annually each July 1, 2023-32, and five installments of $1.4M each July 1, 2033-37

Both of the deals have similar money left on them and i think similar term. So ideally you'd want the younger player.

It's four years of Davis contract vs three on Pujols. 10 million more per year on Pujols. I still stick to Pujols but both are god awful.

I forgot that Davis's contract is deferred.

"The money will come due eventually, with Davis structured to receive a $3.5 million payment each year from 2023-32, with an additional $1.4 million coming each year from 2033-37"

Yikes, that Chris Davis deferred money. That's one way to wreck a franchise for 2 decades. Making the Yankees look fiscally conservative in comparison.

That sucked. 0-13 with RISP is brutal.

Tip of the cap to Happ out there though. Saved at least 2 runs today.

100 games for domestic violence isn't enough. From USA Today:

Torres pleaded not guilty Jan. 9 in Maricopa County Superior Court in Phoenix to charges in a Dec. 29 indictment that charged him with assault with a deadly weapon, criminal damage and intimidation stemming from the incident at home he shares with a woman.
I'd be alright with a ban.

First time in many I've made it to a Nats game at the very start and of course it's to watch the Giants homer.

Sitting right behind B Harp and I love the guy but couldn't help yell "How about them Vegas Knights buddy!"
