Dig the colors there but I'm good. Tyler's merch game is on point. Kendrick had some great shit this year too.

Also, judging by the concert i went to Brockhampton is gonna sell a ton of their merch. Never seen that long of a line for merchandise, goddamn.

It was dope rocking their Saturation t shirt (copped online when it first dropped) at Flog Gnaw and people asking why it wasn't available at the festival. I was telling people the exposure was only gonna go up after Flog Gnaw.

Tyler's shit is dope too. Dope colorways.

Edit: recieved the most compliments for the brockhampton chiropractic shirt. Def one of my favs the past month or so.

This Yung Lean album is alright. "Ski Mask" is the highlight of the album so far, but "Iceman", "Red Bottom Sky", and "Fallen Demon" are all good. I think some of the two part songs could have been dropped from the project, but it is very sonically cohesive due to Yung Gud's work.

I feel like I've listened to enough albums for the year especially rap albums. I'll check out the new Ivan Ave when it comes out, but I think that will be the last one.

Is it wrong that I unironically have Mans Not Hot stuck in my head?

I'm usually not with the idea of meme/joke rap but Mans Not Hot is just memorable and hard not to sing along to.

No, it's not wrong at all. Been stuck in my head too.

And there are some legit gold lines in there.

The girl told me, "Take off your jacket"
I said, "Babes, man's not hot"

Also, this hasn't been posted yet (somehow): Lil Pump and Lil Yachty are dropping a tape early next year.

(On second thought, I guess I understand why this hasn't been posted here earlier. It takes a certain level of IQ to process the music of Lil Pump and Lil Yachty, and I can only assume you guys lack that necessary IQ, and thus you guys ignore what those two artists do.)

Armand Hammer are some clever cats. I'm finally riding the wave.

A long and storied history of fake thuggin
You wasn't around for boss mean muggin
Tupac went to art school, but look at the grave they dug him
...and then you shoot your cousin
Six feet deep before you realize you buggin
Rat's what the cat drug in, beloved

I originally thought this was just a Roots reference. Jesus.

No Mountains in Manhattan has great production all throughout. Wiki didn't even have to put any effort into rapping for me to enjoy it, but he did his thing anyway.
Im looking for more cohesive producer albums with a rotating cast of rappers.

Stuff along the lines of King Geedorah and Russian Roulette.

Any recs?

Lushlife - My Idols Are Dead + My Enemies are in Power
House Shoes - Let it Go
J DIlla - Jay Stay Paid
Strong Arm Steady - In Search of Stoney Jackson

Surprised by this new Wiz; he's been so corny lately. Production is tight and he's just keeping it simple but not too simple; dude really can ride a beat when he wants to.

Checked out Yung Lean; meh... he's.. not very good.

Yeah I checked out the Yung Lean yesterday and thought that was a pretty tough listen. Not sure if people in here liking that are trolling or...

Iceman was a standout track, however.

Also, just wanna reiterate that Armand Hammer album is fucking nice.

It took a long time for me to like lean after hearing my favorite streamer playing it over and over again. Now I got oreomilkshake stuck in my head.

It was so jarring listening to that Em track, then playing this Wiz. Probably his best output since Cabin Fever (not that that's saying much) but him and Spittas flow is always on point.

Its interesting how rapping is compared to a sport. In many other genres, musicians play till their later years. Take Rock n Roll, a lot of the older bands still play and have a market. Doesn't seem to be as big in the Hip Hop scene. Reminds of that line fomr Andre 3ks recent interview with GQ where he says something along the lines that with hip hop, one call always hop but its hard to be hip, hip is with the younger folks.

Jay's still doing good, Ye is still doing good, and they're the oldest acts that have had both a profound impact and prolonged great output. Arguably 50 is as well.

Might be competitiveness as you say, or it might just be that we don't know where the bar is quite yet for who can become a legacy act and who can't. I have a feeling many artists just fall off in general (not just due to competition) before they can establish that sort of legacy.
