I never said that people can't dislike it. Only explaining why it's so different in the first place. Frankly I prefer this level of fidelity and art direction compared to what was seen in DMC4. Like universe wise it's still the same tone but rendered with modern tech:Indeed and people have the right to not like complete photorealism, it's a matter of taste.
Not really, the series always had a ditinctive gothic feel in the architecture and was usually way more colorful.
This was the norm, except maybe DMC2, but is fucking DMC2....
Considering the lyrics have DEVIL TRIGGER in it, it's seems like an original pop song for this game. Not even Bayonetta would have that.
Yeah I'm pretty sure that health regeneration is actually a canon ability for Dante and Vergil, Dante gets stabbed in the torso so many times in cutscenes and lives to tell about it. That said, Nero is 1/4 demon, so it's not surprising that he doesn't as powerful as Dante and Vergil.Nero can't regrow limbs?
I mean,we never saw dante or vergil lose a limb before but they can definitely heal.
Its weird because DmCs artstyle in its level design is actually pretty good. Was hoping 5 would take the gothic architecture into something more memorable. Blend it with demon/angel stuff. You're not wrong. I still think this looks like shit, though. It doesn't look stylish, it looks like they just tried to recreate the visual style Ninja Theory used for DmC but forgot that the DmC art style doesn't look like Devil May Cry.
The gothic horror-inspired art is just replaced by generic edgy nonsense.
The confidence it must take to have Devil May Cry 5 evoke both DMC4 and dmc, two games that killed the series, is encouraging. I would have definitely expected them to play it safe, another prequel with Dante for instance, but clearly they're making the game they want to make.
He's got so much style and he's got the young attitude to pull it off. Some comments are reminding me a lot of the DMC4 comments when Nero was first shown. He's doing the damn thing.Wait a second...
Is Nero using his own arm as a ridable rocket?
How can you hate on this game. How can you.
It's nothing to doing with "western" people, whatever that means. They typically don't look like natural humans at all, it's usually a stylization approach.

I like this take. Makes me v optimisticThe confidence it must take to have Devil May Cry 5 evoke both DMC4 and dmc, two games that killed the series, is encouraging. Yeah, you are right and I'll make a post about that later once the thread slows down a bit.Not just that, you got your info wrong about Sony holding back a PSX announcement when it ended up getting revealed in a Microsoft conference, and your Unreal Engine 4 info was wrong too.
No offense man, I know you like the games and all, but your source lied to you.
I mean, Joel will probably look different in TLOU2 as a result of the closer push to photorealism. It's not inherently a problem unless you were literally expecting a sequel coming out 10 years later to still retain anime art direction for the models.
Dante and Vergil are twin brothers of a legendary demon named Sparda. They don't get along well.
Nero is the son of Vergil. They don't get along well.
You launch demons into the air and then keep them aloft by shooting them with guns.
You are now fully up to speed for DMC5 (DMC is not a story-heavy series :P).
That bit with Nico catching the cigarette while the van is flying through the air is PEAK DMC
You know what, I won't be shitting up every thread about this game, a lot of people are excited. Hope you guys have a lot of fun.
I'm out.
