Count me in for someone who has been dying for a full blown stand alone Mercenaries title. It wouldn't be the largest betrayal of an RE title, people love the crap of Mercenaries mode, and you can get a lot of mileage reusing assets from past REs with tons to pull from ensuring no key character is left behind. It'd be cheap to make, and Capcom, you would be ROLLING in money.

Or they could go ahead and include alternate costumes as part of the game for free and not have this game be yet another example of the awful things about the modern gaming industry.
I mean yeah, Leon and Ada should have costumes in regardless.

However the other stuff I mentioned would actually require a decent amount of work and would be fine being charged extra for

Unless Chris is in Extreme Battle returning or Jill is in some kind of RE3 tease/stinger/etc then they should be free in Mercenaries

Why would over shoulder make game more action? This always confuses me a lot. The game can be scary regardless of camera angle. Do you know that right? All Horor game these day has over shoulder camera .....

Its been covered in this thread and others, but a OTS camera completely changes how thengame is designed and that might have unintended consequences and/or completely require changing the design of many of the locations and encounters.

To put it another way you're taking a game where the core mechanic wasn't combat and putting in a versatile combat system.

A lot of the tiny rooms in the RPD just won't work well. Getting chased by MR X or the Sewer Alligators will probabky need to be redesigned. The composition of every scene also tends to be changed. Some things still work, other won't and might need to be changed. Then you get into issues where too much might change.

TLDR, you changing something as core as that is going to take a very thoughtful and talented team to do it without losing what made RE2, RE2. Not impossible, but the goal ahouldnnot to be to make RE2 deadspace, TEW, or AI in my opinion.

If there's no A and B scenarios then that means no Mr X. That's gonna be the only bad thing if Dusk is right. Other than that everything sounds good.

No A/B/B/A doesn't really mean that.

People forget that the original zapping system gave us four senarios that mixed up story and lore and even characters actions; which was of some contention till mutiple developers hinted at the possible true cannon.

If I had to guess, they're just going to simplify it with one unifed story. Well probably finally see the official Leon and Claire stories that don't contradict each other. Maybe even more campaigns as DLC. They'll just ditch the non-cannon zapping system plot points, while adding new stuff ala Lisa.

After that Devil May Cry 5 trailer, I'm getting worried...guys. :/

Capcom better not fuck this up. Resident Evil 2 was my favorite game in the series.

Yeah, after the DMC5 reveal..

If REmake 2 is using the RE Engine, Leon and Claire will look really different.

REmake 2 is using the RE Engine, but a newer version of the RE Engine than DMC5 is using (DMC5 is running closer to RE7's version). You'll see it soon, what I will say is REmake 2 is more graphically impressive than DMC5, mixture of it working on an updated RE Engine with features made specifically for REmake 2, smaller environments and slower gameplay and a focus on graphical fidelity and environments leading to a focus on graphical prowess, and going for a moodier feel, plus REmake 2's assets were made for 4k. For the characters looks, well you'll see.

They're going to look more realistic than ever before. So that can go either way. On one hand, I definitely don't care that much for old Dante, but on the other the female lead looks fantastic

So with DMC V confirmed for early 2019, is RE2 remake coming this Fall? They said one of the two would be out in 2018 so...

Will RE2R also use actual people as face models ? Are we getting to a future where characters are locked in to real life actors for all of Capcom's present and future RE Engine games ?
