For those who don't know, Marvel has made a show about two teen heroes that's airing on Freeform. (The channel with a bunch of not so good teen dramas) So naturally the show is garbage and you should just not bother with it and...

NPR
Importantly, crucially, we get believable and well-earned reasons - rooted in information revealed in those early, talkier episodes - for them to adopt the superheroic lifestyle, and devote themselves to justice, instead of revenge.

Wait...

The Verge
In a media market filled with caped crusaders, Cloak & Dagger still manages to stand out by breaking the rules for what it means to be a superhero.

Hold on...

Los Angeles Times

Despite all indications that this Freeform production is made for the YA crowd, this beautifully shot and executed series is more artful and sophisticated than its genre of origin suggests.

What's happening?

Paste
All [the] ponderousness is executed with a confidence and skill that promises a satisfying first season, and one I think you should give a shot. Let Marvel's and Freeform's kid sibling shine its own light (and shadow).

Okay, so maybe it's actually not a bad show.

We're two episodes in right now, and you can catch up on Freeforms website now. Freeform also seems like they're going in on promoting this show, so they'll probably be a few reruns this week as well.

I'm still confused by this scheduling. When is this supposed to be on Hulu?

Its okay. Very dark and its setting up their backstory nicely. Waiting for when they come together and become the badass power couple they are.

It's off to a great start.

After last year's one-two Scott Buck punch of Iron Fist and Inhumans, the TV side of the MCU has gotten things back on track. Runaways was good and has a lot of promise for season 2. The Punisher and Jessica Jones S2 were good. Agents of SHIELD continues to be the GOAT.

Just give me some TV crossovers at least and I'll be happy. Runaways/Cloak & Dagger could be fun.

So here the OT is. Thanks for it!
Can't wait to see it tonight.

Read it had a connection to Agent Carter with the Darkforce in which Roxxon bought it off Isodyne in the 1950s. Nice connection and change to their origin!

Saw the first episode of Cloak and Dagger. That was an utter surprise. Wow, it's up there with the best Marvel TV has produced yet. The production values, the way the story is told and how their origin comes together, the music is really well placed, and the chemistry and acting between the two leads is really great. Right now I'm liking it as much as Daredevil S1, Punisher S1 and Agents of Shield S4. Of course I'll have to check out more episodes. But I'm loving it right now.

Watched the first episode on Hulu. My only knowledge of these characters comes from reading/playing Maximum Carnage in the 90's, but I'm really digging the MCU take on them. Glad this won't wind up being a "hatewatch" show like Inhumass.

The only thing about this show is that nobody in New Orleans has an accent. Really liked everything else about it though. It's as good as the first two episodes of runaways before the parents took over.

Yeah I hope this stays consistent after the first few episodes unlike Runaways.

I can't remember this, but was the show shot and filmed in New Orleans? I love shows shot in that city.

I'm in. And I knew I remembered Roxxon from somewhere. Totally makes sense given what they did with Agent Carter.

I just hope it's more than just teen angst and sprinkle of super powers here and there.

Runaways was bad on this. I'm watching their parents have drama

Yo when folks talk about remaking characters for a new age, this is what they are talking about. Except for some pacing problems in the second ep, this was the best premiere I seen in a while

Quite enjoyable but I think I am getting real tired of weekly shows.
Netflix letting me finish a season at my leisure has spoiled me.

It was definitely a promising start. Tonally it was more like the Netflix shows than other Marvel stuff, surprisingly, but at the same time it very much falls within the realm of being a teen drama, with all the music that goes along with that.

The focus on the characters is good, the leads seem well cast and seem to have some good chemistry, and the subject matter seems like it's not afraid to tackle some real issues. I don't know if I will end up sticking with it since it seems just good and many other superhero shows just can't keep my interest by being just alright (I can't believe I hate watched Inhumans, what a waste of time, even at a short season length), but I think it seems like it has a lot of potential.

I can say that it's at least got me more invested in the main characters in 2 episodes than Runaways, Punisher, and Iron Fist did in the 4 episodes I gave those shows before dropping them. It also had better moments just in the intro than the entire season of Inhumans.

I've always liked the premise of Cloak and Dagger and thought it would make a great show or movie so I'm glad that it seems to be delivering.

I didn't think it was that impressive. Better than the CW shows, but not any better than the Netflix ones. They need a bigger effects budget, among other things. And to make the writing a little less cliche.

Well it already aired two entertaining episodes in season one. That's two more than Agents of SHIELD did.

Enjoyed both episodes. It's weird as hell hearing the word shit on Freeform though. Definitely caught me off guard at first.
They even had sex and drug use which I don't even think exists in the MCU outside of the Netflix shows.

It definitely has more edge than I expected it to have given the channel, which is a good sign that they want to make the shows as intended.

It's weird, I thought I was watching a Netflix version of Marvel and I honestly don't know how I feel about that since I've since come to the realization that pretty much every Netflix Marvel show is bad. :p

I hope it doesn't fuck around like Runaways.

Just watched the second episode and it's so really good. I even got my family member hooked and she hates Marvel lol. I'm really buying these actors playing Tyone and Tandy, I really love their portrayal. Tyrone is so good. And his mom is a hero!

I love all the music on this show and how they use it. And damn at that ending!

Promo for next week's episode:

I like the flip of Tandy being about that life. I can see them setting up shit if they keep certain aspects of their powers. Like Dagger's light blades being cleansing people's body of drugs and illness.

I hope the whole cop arc is handled quickly. At least they already got her friend, and a profile on Tandy.

I also hope we get to see them unleash their powers real good in the final episode or so.

Really enjoyed these two episodes. I also love that they're really focused on nailing the characters before they introduce all the super power stuff.

Just watched this, very solid start.

Was confused on exactly what their powers are or how they seemed to be triggered. Seemed to be during heightened emotion, but not sure why Tyrone would end up in the spot he was at the end of episode 2.

Production was on point, although I could have done without a few of the song cues.

Will keep watching to see how it develops.

Watched both episodes yesterday and I'm with the rest of you... pleasantly surprised at the production values and tone. I like both leads quite a bit and am even more in once I saw Tyrone's mom was Gloria Reuben from ER.

Both episodes were good, both leads as well. I already prefer this to the gifted / runaways.
