Devil May Cry is a stylish action game and always will be. It pioneered the damn genre.
I think this looks pretty sick. All the combat footage looked like a blast, and the I'm fine with the setting being less fantasy than DMCIV.
No. If you want that, buy DmC.
One thing I want this game to be is balls in on combat. If they want to have a lot of cutscenes to tie it all together then fine, but DMC needs to go back to being all about fucking shit up and looking damn cool while you are doing it.
Their fucking better be bloody palace too...even though it's probably gonna be DLC.

The chronological order is 3 -> 1 -> 4 -> 2. Definitely play 3 & 4, maybe play 1 if you want, & read a summary of 2's story.
Like I been saying... there's gonna be a lot of crow. People are being emotional right now due to the spectre of DmC. People are going to come around on this game fairly quickly, especially once more gameplay gets shown.

I mean, it's not like devil may cry is a story driven game. Each game is basically a standalone game. You wont be missing much I think. Still, i would recommend playing DMC4

GOW combat was never really excellent, so a redesign made sense.
DMC4's combat is the pinnacle of the character action genre, hell even modern games (bayonetta2, MGRising, Neir automata etc) can't touch it.

Leon was based on Leo DiCaprio from titanic days anyway. Shouldn't be hard to nail his look on RE2.
And aside from Dantes face this is looking amazing. Shadow die twice and this are the only 2 games that got me hyped from MS conference.

Don't fix what ain't broke. There comes a point when evolution is preferable to revolution, and GoW went too far in the direction of the latter for my tastes.

thats kinda par for course for Devil May Cry games though, they have the corniest music ever. if its not bootleg Rob Zombie then its bound to be stuff like this.

I agree as far as the midriff and the boots, but I guess I'm desensitized to seeing this much skin on a person out in public. I certainly wouldn't equate her design with Cindy's.

DMC1 is still my favourite one, so I'm always going to tell people to play it. You can skip 2. Defo play 3. 4 is worth a play too.
That's fair. I have only played the 4th one so I don't have a lot of exposure to the series, I just know the first one looked cool as hell with all sorts of gothic horror vibes and they have gotten progressively dorkier as the series has gone on. This looks a little less tacky than the 4th one tho, or at least carries its tackiness better.
I'd say that at least DMC3 has a good character arc with Dante
I fail to see your point on the person vs video game character part. Also, I actually carried guns that way (pointing at the crotch) when I was a child playing cowboys and robbers, and I certainly wasn't trying to be sexy or slutty haha

Played it a few days ago. Is it dated? Absolutely. Is it bad? Absolutely not. Yes it's missing some of the modern features expected of the genre, but it's still a fine action game that works as a perfect base for what came after it.
