Devil May Cry 5 Reveal Trailer (PS4/XB1/PC - Spring 2019)

Is this going to be one of those things that people will deny even when the game comes out until they see a confirmation from Capcom that it's TOTALLY VERGIL?
Vergil is the guy who ripped off Nero's arm, dude.

I don't really care about playing as him. Dude will always suck unless he manages to get some other Devil Arms.
But in cutscenes he's the worst character in the series. Just a complete dweeb, and they did NOT improve him here by making him more like Nu-Dante.
I'll never understand why people think Vergil is so awesome and Nero so lame.
Like, Dante is so far above both of them in terms of being a likeable character that they both just seem so basic in comparison. Yet, it seems like people like Vergil as much as Dante. To me, he's not nearly as cool, badass or funny Is it DMC3 nostalgia I just don't get?

Because Nero is a dweeby teenage shonen protagonist who just screams about Kyrie all the time and has literally nothing else to offer beyond that. His entire personality is based around a character with no personality.
Nothing about him is like New Dante at all, this is pretty much DMC4 Nero but with a different hairstyle (that isn't even an undercut like DmC Dante's, for what it's worth).
The difference between the two characters is night and day.
Hot take: ALL the DMC characters are great! Dante, Vergil, Lady, Trish, Nero; I like'em all. I'm even pretty taken with Nico so far, and I can't wait to find out who that black dude at the start of the trailer is.

Kyrie's a bit rubbish, if we're being honest, but I'm still excited to see what she'll be like if she's in this game.

Now, on the flip side, what makes Vergil so much better and a fan favorite to the point where people are begging for him to come back when he's literally dead?
I actually agree with this. I like them all, I just think Dante is head and shoulders above Nero and Vergil and I don't understand why people hate the former and absolutely love the latter.
But, hegrows out of that and now has been killing demons on a new business (i remember sometime after DMC 4) not every character is perfect
I like him in this rendering and during his "emoting" he is actually a perfect "age-up" from his first showing imo
Nero looks so much better in this render without all that emoting he is doing in the trailer.
God damn DMC5 looks INSANELY GOOD! And looking at this... how can you DENY that Vergil resemblance?

But I like his fighting style. I don't like the rev mechanic Nero uses and can never actually get it working in real fights, so half of his functionality is locked off from me. Vergil's more speed-and-finesse-based style is my speed.
And I honestly just don't want another new character when we could have Vergil instead.

The 10 years gap and upgrade in graphics definitely gave us fans a knee jerk reaction, But with Itsuno's statement I have no worries about the game.
I hope for Dante's trailer they do bring some nostalgia back with devils never cry.

Some of ya'll are fucking crazy. You all say that the game needs to be more "gothic," but holy fucking shit we've only seen one goddamn area. It'd be like thinking that DMC3 takes place in nothing but ruined stores and streets based on seeing footage for the first 2 stages up to Cerberus. Say it's not DMC enough when Nero literally rides his rocket powered bionic arm as a surfboard.

But I'm hyped; Dante can be the main character in all of the games you want after this and you can wish for nothing more but DMC3-2 etc, but you are not taking away the inevitable Nero v. Vergil showdown from me.

I was secretly hoping that the Nu Nero in the trailer was actually the Dante from the DmC universe who somehow got pulled into this one lol.
The PR information makes stuff more clear that the trailer didn't.
*Takes place several years after DMC4. Nero has his own variation of DMC shop and has lost his arm. Uses a mechanical arm with the help of Nico her mechanic.
*Nero has several arm types, probably hinting that he can use multiple arm "forms" in combat (maybe on the fly... god willing).
*Three playable characters, almost assuredly the three featured in that cover art.
*Full demonic invasion happening in Red Grave City. Interesting that this is the name of Dante's alias "Tony Redgrave" in one of the novels.
*There is a picture of Nero doing a Max Act Exceed move. Seems like they are hinting that all those features will be returning and then some.

I cant stop watching this trailer. Its now my most anticipated game. Itsuno saying its the best he has ever made puts the hype on a different tier. I know it's cheesy but I actually care alot about Devil May Cry's story and characters. Devil May Cry was the first game I ever considered dope and the franchise has a special place in my gaming heart.
I agree, you can see he was pouring his heart out on stage and he meant when he said this is the best game he's ever made so my hype levels are through the roof
Thats the best thing, with how little true action games have been DMC 5 comes to take back the genre to the top, its not supposed to be an adventure/rpg game.

I guess this is how they'll introduce "styles" to Nero. I'm so hyped for this game.
I also belive that Son of Sparda should not be banned, heck that thread actually made me replay the DMC titles and get hyped again.

How is the HD collection on PS4/Xbox? Never really played one of these games, but this trailer was dope.
They already confirmed that it's a Devil May Cry 4 sequel in their official blogs, not to mention that they joked some decade ago that "DMC2 was set in the very far future so it'll never have any sequel" aka they don't think it exists within the continuity.
