Glad to hear y'all were able to figure out a way to get it on the Switch. I'll let my brother know to get it. He's been on a huge rpg thing lately

Good news for the devs.

I would've been sad about this as I just started playing the Vita version and would've preferred Switch, but uh, not really liking it at all. Struggling to continue after 2 hours.

Probably too early to ask, but did you find much success from the vita release?

Still too early, but between the digital & physical versions, it looks like we have a good shot at breaking even which is about all we could ask for from a Vita release in 2018. However, because of all the optimization that I did for the Vita version, the game was easier to port & the performance on Switch is fantastic (quick load times & steady 60 fps with only minor dips when loading/switching maps). So even if the Vita version "only" breaks even, the fact that it helped pave the way for the Switch version means that it should make it well worth the effort.

The game hasn't been an amazing seller so far. Total combined sales for all platforms is under 100k. However, I'm confident that if Cosmic Star Heroine is going to succeed anywhere, it's going to be on Switch - it's a perfect fit for the demographic, it's a very high quality port, the game excels in a portable environment, there's not a lot of turn-based JRPG competition on the platform, and the game is already done & approved so we have over a month to try to build up hype.

I'm obviously biased, but the game is sitting at a 90% user rating on Steam with over 200 reviews. People generally praise the innovative & tactical turn-based combat, the brilliant soundtrack from Hyperduck, the fantastic pixel art, and fast pace of the game.

Count me in for a physical. I just hope I won't have to compete to order a copy (aka I hope they will take pre-orders for it).

Fuuuuck yes, finally! It has been SO hard holding off on buying this for PS4 but I knew Switch version would be such a great match for it. Awesome news

I have a PSN code from the Kickstarter but have never played it. Was thinking of dusting off the Vita, but might now hold off for the Switch version...

Thanks for this information and I totally agree with you that even if Vita doesn't make your money back the work you did helped optimize the Switch port can pay off in spades. I hope you don't mind me saying but I've definitely been holding off on the Switch port but definitely in day one. Definitely wishing you all the best of look and will spread the good word.

Finally someone over at Nintendo got time heads out of their asses and gave the team a Dev kit

Glad to see this coming so soon, I have yet to touch my PC copy so I'll definitely be double dipping on Switch. It's still ridiculous that Nintendo wouldn't approve Zeboyd for a dev kit though.

I bought it once on PS4, and I am probably going to buy it again. If for nothing other than the Switch is just more convenient for these kinds of games. I can beat this over several commutes on the bus, whereas when I sit down to play on PS4 or PC something else invariable drags my attention.

I really hope this port pays off for you guys.

Does that mean you guys are hard at work on your next game?

I wish. I'm trying to get the PS4 version updated so that they can print the physical copies.

Did you end up going with the idea you were throwing around on the old site or did you go with something else?

We're still planning on making Rx Machina, but we're thinking about doing a shorter Breath of Death sequel as a palette cleanser.

I'm absolutely going to double dip on this, portable CSH is nice and on Switch is even better.

I'm glad that LRG was able to help you get this on Switch.

Fantastic! I'm getting a Switch sometime soon, and will absolutely double-dip on CSH. Totally worth it.

What to expect from this game exactly ?
I love PS1 story Jrpg, a little less snes ones (meaning Cross owns Trigger for me).
Is it THAT close to Chrono Trigger or is it "borrowing" elements from other types of RPG ?

This transparency is greatly appreciated!

Did I understand correctly that you still don't have a Switch Dev kit? How come?

Looks like I'll be double-dipping for this since it sits in my PS4 backlog while I've been finishing everything on my Switch lately.

I'll be buying this for the third time.

PS digital, LRG PS4 physical, and now physically on the Switch.

I love this game, and urge anyone on the fence to jump in.

This is a perfect fit, and I think I'm more excited about this announcement than anything I saw out of E3 (except maybe Cyberpunk, sorry). More RPGs on the Switch I say!

Octopath, Cosmic Star Heroine, Tales of Vesperia, with a dash of Ys VIII for good measure. This is awesome.

I'm really struggling, I'm up to the third hour and really tempted to drop it.

GameSpot and RPGamer's reviews (76/77 MC) reflect how I feel the closest, though I'd be a little more negative. I know GAF/ERA (rightfully) loves the devs for their communication, as they're active users, but I feel a little duped with how highly recommended it's been. That said, the game is cheap, so if you don't like it, it's no big loss.

Edit: Just lost an hour's progress to a glitch. Yep. Dropping this game.
