Probably too early to ask, but did you find much success from the vita release?
sounds good.Still too early, but between the digital & physical versions, it looks like we have a good shot at breaking even which is about all we could ask for from a Vita release in 2018. However, because of all the optimization that I did for the Vita version, the game was easier to port & the performance on Switch is fantastic (quick load times & steady 60 fps with only minor dips when loading/switching maps). So even if the Vita version "only" breaks even, the fact that it helped pave the way for the Switch version means that it should make it well worth the effort.
The game hasn't been an amazing seller so far. Total combined sales for all platforms is under 100k. However, I'm confident that if Cosmic Star Heroine is going to succeed anywhere, it's going to be on Switch - it's a perfect fit for the demographic, it's a very high quality port, the game excels in a portable environment, there's not a lot of turn-based JRPG competition on the platform, and the game is already done & approved so we have over a month to try to build up hype.
I'm obviously biased, but the game is sitting at a 90% user rating on Steam with over 200 reviews. People generally praise the innovative & tactical turn-based combat, the brilliant soundtrack from Hyperduck, the fantastic pixel art, and fast pace of the game.

Finally someone over at Nintendo got time heads out of their asses and gave the team a Dev kit
They're doing open preorder. All Limited Run Games releases will be open preorders for the foreseeable future. You have two weeks to place an order.Count me in for a physical. I just hope I won't have to compete to order a copy (aka I hope they will take pre-orders for it).
So does this mean your next game is Switch-bound?
Yes, Limited Run Games did the port themselves (asking me questions as they went along).
I'm super excited about this.
I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high, but that would be really nice.
I bought it once on PS4, and I am probably going to buy it again. If for nothing other than the Switch is just more convenient for these kinds of games. I can beat this over several commutes on the bus, whereas when I sit down to play on PS4 or PC something else invariable drags my attention.Still too early, but between the digital & physical versions, it looks like we have a good shot at breaking even which is about all we could ask for from a Vita release in 2018. Did you end up going with the idea you were throwing around on the old site or did you go with something else?
I wish. I'm trying to get the PS4 version updated so that they can print the physical copies.
We're still planning on making Rx Machina, but we're thinking about doing a shorter Breath of Death sequel as a palette cleanser.

I'm really struggling, I'm up to the third hour and really tempted to drop it.
