How is this thread only 4 pages? That was an insane trailer. Spiderman literally jumped from #4 on the big 4 list to #2. Literally a game of dreams.

There's been plenty shown of Spider-Man by now. It's not going to get the same attention as games that were just announced or revealed gameplay for the first time.

This game really does look awesome. I have such fond memories of playing through Spider-Man 2 on PS2. This should be a blast.

Praised be, Insomniac.

Has it been addressed that Spider-Man legit threw 2 people off the top of the building mid-combat in that open-world gameplay segment?

Looks like this Spidey loves this song:

That felt so weird. First there was no UI, then there was UI, and then it disappears again. What's going on with this and the GoT videos? Scripted? Spidey also looks like it's got plenty of QTEs. NEVERTHELESS, still hyped, because it's Spidey!

Was pretty shocked how many villians they are putting in the game pretty much all of the B teir guys and most likely Goblin / Mr. Negative. Looks amazing!

I'm not so sure about this. So much of that demo seemed like a newer version of those last gen spiderman games. And the villian designs and dialogue seemed super hammed up.
Yes, it looks exactly like those last gen games but with better animations, story, graphics, characters, voice acting, and combat. But I can understand why someone would say that

Swear I could hear some glider like sound effects at the end. I mean I don't know what a glider sounds like, but if I did, that's what it'd sound like.

I thought the demo they showed in the stream straight after the conference itself, was as good if not better than the conference demo. Overall the game looks fantastic. Guessing all those baddies will end up being the bosses throughout the game? Could make for some really fun encounters if done right.

So here's how they deal with that, a web trip wire is automatically connected to the enemies that are knocked off buildings, so that way they are webbed up to the side of any building they fall off.

This is my game of the show so far. The graphics were insanely good and the combat looks fluid. I love that Insomniac listened to fans and got rid of all that lame quicktime stuff that it showed in the previous trailer. I just hope that all the cool stuff doesn't happen automatically. I'm actually glad that they didn't show too much and left me in suspense at the end. This might be my dream Spider-Man game.

At the very end there seems to be a light/glow, so I'm assuming Green Goblin shows up and rescues Spidey.

This one didn't really do it for me. Too much combat and scripted sequences. Still excited for the game though.

The open world gameplay shown after the presentation looked more fun.

The show floor demo was available after the presser, and I went hands-on with it.

First thought: I need to play it again, and I won't do a full write-up (or answer nitpicky questions here, sorry) until I get one more crack. There's definitely a learning curve to the combination of Batman Arkham combat and "oh, I'm Spider-man, I can just web-sling out of a sticky situation" maneuverability. Getting a hang of the camera during the most intense and vertical moments was a bit of a pain—but, oh goodness, when I had anything decent chained together, I felt way more badass than I ever have in an Arkham game.

Demo appears to be a pretty unlocked chunk of the game's opening, and players can press R3 to view a bunch of open-world mission icons around a roughly 1,000 sq meter radius as seen through your spidey sense.

In my demo, a timer came up on the screen, and my kiosk host told me that if I hurried up and triggered the boss fight, I could stick around longer... but, whoops, this boss was on the other freaking side of the map. Long haul. By this time, I'd gotten the hang of R2 to swing, then X to jump at the perfect apex of the swing to get more speed. Also, L2+R2 to shoot webs directly forward and grab onto platforms, should there be nothing above you to logistically swing from. The result was that I reached my destination in time by absolutely WHIPPING through Manhattan. That speed sensation, combined w/ the city's density, is what's gonna bring me back to Spider-man. Super impressed thus far, but I still need to decide whether the cameras suck or whether I just need to get used to them.

You know, I wonder if we'll see

[spoilers from the comic related to Yuri, the NPC seen in this footage]

Wraith? Considering she's right there, and Mr Negative was the villain she was present for the most.

Sounds great, thanks for the write up. Any impressions of the boss fight, I know it's the one with the Shocker, or were you not able to play that part?

Looks dope, was everything I was hoping for. I'm assuming Mister Negative will be forming his own version of the Sinister Six here.

So the mystery villain probably is either Doc Ock or Green Goblin. They built the suits, which seems like either and both have been the leader of the sinister six. I think if it's Doc Ock GG is probably still in the game as Osborne running for re-election had been teased as an important aspect of the story.

Peter seems suprised though as well, which could mean Goblin being back I assume he's disappeared with Norman as mayor or it's someone completely out of left field.

That was one of the most frustrating fights thanks to having to manage camera while web-slinging around a relatively small, walled-in space. But at its best, it was a cool demonstration of how web-slinging changes maneuverability in a tough boss fight, and how Insomniac appears, at least in this case, to ramp up monster powers in kind. (Good question.)

Ah, okay. That makes sense.

Would've been cool still to throw people off and fall with them, like Spider-Man 2 (PS2). But goes against the narrative so I understand.

Thanks for the answer, sounds good to me, hope they can fix a bit of the camera for release, 3 months to go.

From his lines in this video, it sounds like Negative is working for someone else.

It should be Mysterio. I'm gonna keep mentioning him until Insomniac announces he's in the game.

I have beat arkham asylum and knight and this to me looks more fun with the combat, gadgets and the sense of freedom via the traversal.

Showcase demo looked fantastic and the post-show free roam gameplay is exactly what I wanted to see. I'm gonna get lost in that city for hours and love every second of it

Some tidbits from the article on Gameinformer about the demo they got to play:

I was surprised to see most of the ground-level buildings feature nicely detailed interiors. Some of them are feature blurry windows that obscure the objects inside, but you can still see stuff is there. Most of the windows, however, are crystal clear, giving the player the opportunity to stop to view shops filled with goods, restaurants with tables, and more. One window I looked inside of held a shelf with three action figures on it. Two of these figures were of Spider-Man, one in the classic suit, and the other in what appeared to be the black suit (go ahead and freak out).

He mostly spent time looking at the details of the city as this was the same demo they played when they got the cover story. They also for the first time were able to fight Shocker, which sounds decent, but not great:

In this new demo, which is an updated version of open-world section I saw during my cover trip, I played through this conflict and found it to be good fun in a highly repetitive way

Here's the full article link so you can read some more details, goes in depth into the boss fight and what the details in the world are like.

He isn't saving Spidey, they are doing the Sinister Six and the person who shows up in the end is the final villain, I'm gonna say it's Hobgoblin instead of Green Goblin just so they could pull the bait and switch.

That's the safe bet. I guess I am hoping it will be a twist and have some more interesting and complex versions of the characters.

Yes! Crawling mechanics finally. And they added an animation to make the transition to the wallrun more fluid. I will crawl the most time instead of wallrunning, outside of missions obviously.
I'm satisfyied. Day 0.

The demo was fine but if you've been following the game it didn't really show anything new or interesting outside of villain reveals. If we get some MJ gameplay at some point I'll check it out but I'm not too interested in seeing much more until I actually get to play it myself.

This is honestly the best showing of E3 this far. I am so fucking hyped for this again. Will be picking up a PS4 pro for this, God of War and all the PS4 exclusives I missed out on in the last 2 years. This, Battlefield V and Red Dead Redemption 2 are confirmed buys for me this year.

Loved the post show demo.
The only thing that kinda bothered me was when wall running (vertical and horizontal), it seemed super fast. Like, all the momentum from the swinging carried on, and Spidey didn't slow down at any point
