Honestly kinda surprised. Most of what I read here had a fairly gloomy outlook on the merger but a bunch of analysts were either neutral or positive it would go through. A bunch of M&A are going to be more likely now.

Playing the risk arb on this fucker was a piece of piss. DoJ had no chance in hell of stopping this, no legal basis whatsoever. Best was to hope for conditions and concessions but since Trump has the DoJ in turmoil, no surprise.

All the easy credit these companies are leveraging to merge with other big companies is going to come back to bite some of them. You don't want to be over leveraged during a downturn and we're due for one in the near future.
