It was the Studio Head of Eidos Montreal (TOMB RAIDER) that said that in a tweet, and people are joking about it.What the hell does "it's fake" even imply? It's obviously all real animation, probably in-engine animation at that? Are people saying it's fake in that it will not be indicative of moment to moment gameplay, because that's probably correct? It's clearly a heavily scripted sequence.
In that it was all scripted and not actual gameplay? That's my feelings. The animation changes are so fluid that I have a hard time believing any of it was real-time gameplay.
Do you remember if that "Blur" game you're talking about had an actual playable demo?I've seen Blur studios make really good "fake" gameplay videos, wouldn't be the first time. That being said, I'm pretty sure it's real but HEAVILY scripted, won't make it in the final game. Ghost of tsushima was scripted as hell too.
Because the video was uploaded 10 hours ago?How did everybody watch it so fast? People are desperate ass hell with their hot takes.
Michael Huber confirmed it was actually being played by someone next to him. Behind closed doors ofcourse.
How're we still doubting that this is actually gameplay?
Some people..

I haven't seen the video yet but I very much doubt that based on his previous tweet.
To be fair this is way beyond what ND has even achieved in the past
We need to start differentiating between "scripted" and "choreographed"
So many misunderstandings happen in these discussions, just trying to talk about the BFV was nonsense itself
Not saying that text is justified considering the engine should be mature enough to show what the game will look like by release, but do you remember this?It was the Studio Head of Eidos Montreal (TOMB RAIDER) that said that in a tweet, and people are joking about it.
The only that the part that seemed borderline scripted to me was in the beginning when she was shoved against a car, and then transitioned into a melee attack into another closing enemy. I can believe bothe pieces separately but the transition was so smooth. Seemed very scripted in that sense. Haven't watched the video yet, but obviously ND has taken a huge leap forward.
I assumed, but the way people are talking about the animations seemed to imply something weird and different about this. It should be pretty obvious to people that the majority of that demo was scripted, like 99% of E3 demos.I think 'fake' tends to mean that the game is handing off to canned, non-interactive moments in the game. As in, sections that imply player control aren't actually influenced by player control.

obvious this was smoke and mirrors now but back then everybody believed.
And at that point they even said it's 60fps :/Not saying that text is justified considering the engine should be mature enough to show what the game will look like by release, but do you remember this?
obvious this was smoke and mirrors now considering tlou2 doesn't even match this, but back then everybody believed.
christ this shit again. That was them announcing the game and not gameplay. That was their target for cutscenes. TLOU2 demo was gameplay. Big difference. Not saying that text is justified considering the engine should be mature enough to show what the game will look like by release, but do you remember this?

Huber from EZA sat next to the guy demoing on his appointment.
It's real-time gameplay.

Video is too long, but I skipped to 35:00 and the guy was hinting at that bit under the car being a cutscene and not gameplay. So the demo could be gameplay blended in with cutscenes? David Anfossi breathing intensifies lol
The video is not arguing it is not real-time gameplay. It is arguing it is often (but not always) staged/scripted.

More like E3 in general.
Please pass the salt.I've seen Blur studios make really good "fake" gameplay videos, wouldn't be the first time. That being said, I'm pretty sure it's real but HEAVILY scripted, won't make it in the final game. Ghost of tsushima was scripted as hell too.

Here. About 1:10.
