It's funny that Leon is using the James Bond gun pose instead of the standard police handling of firearms. To be fair they only stopped doing that with RE6

i wonder if they'll use Sherrys RE6 face as a basis for young sherry.

You can see how Sherry looks in the remake in the announcement trailer:

What's interesting is that you don't have to check the cutscene that tells you where the Eliott cop is, he is still going to appear regardless of whether or not you checked the computer in the RPD Hall

I mean RE 5,6 have Army that carry many melee/range weapon try to attack you in the city or wherever (which can't be horror)
unlike most enemy in RE 4 that use melee weapon and happend on isolated village, castle (which can be horror)

I'm just not a fan of that direction to be honest, it became way less interesting when it went non horror, with Army guys with guns shooting at you but Capcom seem to be going back in the horror direction again now. It will be interesting to see what they do with RE8.

Seeing Resident Evil 2 Remake brings all the memories of why I love the RE games and I don't think it gets better than this really. The horror, Raccoon City, Zombies, Lickers, Mr X, this is the Resident Evil I grew up with, true to the original game but with a modern twist and it's about as perfect as one would hope for.

I also find it hilarious that they took the time on the Sony stream to point out the fact that the Raccoon Police Department has bathrooms now.

The t-Virus clearly was not the only biological weapon spreading throughout the station.

The way Leon gives himself these little "pep talks" as he wanders around the police station is actually rather charming, and I think it really goes a long way to hammering home the fact that he is just a young rookie barely out of the academy.

This is by far my most loved little detail. I think RE characters tend to often no-sell what they're going through in some games, so hearing Leon tell himself that he can do this (and other motivational one-liners) is awesome to see because, like you said, he's a rookie cop fresh out of the academy and shouldn't act like this is an average Tuesday afternoon for him.

Just going to comment that one of the zombie models looks like something straight out of that old creepy "Scary Stories" book.

I've never noticed this... what's the difference between the two?

The "James Bond pose" is what you see in Resident Evils 4 and 5, where the characters are holding the gun pointed upward. In real life, this is a very bad idea for a number of reasons, not least of which if the gun accidentally goes off, you will suffer from a severe case of tinnitus.

The proper way to hold the gun, as you see Leon do in Resident Evil 6, is aimed down, a little off to the side. That way, if the gun accidentally goes off, you will be firing into the ground, away from yourself (and your head and ears).

The path to the library is locked, you need the spade key. It wasn't needed before, but you didn't have immediate access to the 2nd floor before. The spade key was needed to unlock the corridor that would open the path to the staircase that leads to the second floor. So they must have shifted the spade key requirement from the 1F Corridor to the 2F Library.

Does anyone know how the knife system works exactly? It says using your knife makes it break over time. Do we know how we repair the knife after it breaks or how that works exactly?

Looks beyond amazing! So hyped!

It appears the old soundtrack is nowhere to be found, though? I only watched one part of one video, but the awesome main lobby theme from the original wasn't present in the lobby.

the screen above is Leon holding it out near his head

RE6 Leon has it like this, it's just gunspeak but it's safer and you can have faster aim. It's something no one cared about in video games except for Kojima in MGS2

It's interesting because it's just made to look "cool" but it seems that RE2R is trying to subvert this pose to either show his inexperience, or for the gun to obstruct his flashlight sometimes.

It looks like this is going to supplant RE4 as my favorite game of all time. :D I can't believe how awesome this looks.

I just realised something. In this game if I enter a room and Mr X's music plays I no longer have the option of noping the fuck out and going back through the door I just entered until I've calmed myself down in preperation. This time he'll just follow me back where I came from I imagine. Same thing for enemies in general actually.

How do they find these people to play games? The gameplay I tried to watch had a guy that basically didn't know how to aim properly and not only that: he appeared to not know that you should always shoot the head (I mean, this is basic video game knowledge of absolutely every game that has guns), so he kept trying to shoot the infected in the body (and missing), up to a point he hits the head (by mistake) and then goes back at shooting the ground. W T F Is this the type of person that do the reviews? lol

You can use it three times before it breaks. You can find another knife in demo. It also takes damage during slashing ,but less noticeable than defence stab.
So it's like RE1 Remake they're collectibles for you to find. That tells me that they won't be using the cut the tape scenario at any other point in the game because they have to assume that at any point you may not have a knife.

Heads-up, the first of two REmake 2 official streams today on Capcom's official Twitch starts in 25 minutes: https://www.twitch.tv/capcomusa

Demo gameplay will include the two producers on the game, answering some fans questions on REmake 2.

Thanks,

hoping the devs get more time to speak than they did at the Sony thing.
This one I think is more a Q&A session answering fan questions than focused on demo gameplay, but there's an hour long demo gameplay stream on Capcom's Twitch in four hours from now featuring some huge RE fans from E3 playing (like cvxfreak).
