Saw our first look at the save screen, it looks a lot like REmake's and Zero's with a typewriter in the background with file slots. Probably on Normal difficulty don't need ink ribbons it seems, but I hope there's a Hard and Special difficulty which need them (one more normal difficulty and a special one using them).

If I wasn't already insanely hype for this game Yoshiaki Hirabayashi's enthusiasm would make me hype. His passion for this project is super apparent and pretty infectious.

Yeah same. Madhouse was cool but I wish you could use the tapes and remixed stuff without it being uber hard.

Ah...finally we're back to what resident evil should be.

Anyway, the only odd thing that stood out to me was the way doors opened when Leon has a flashlight in his hands. There was no animation and the doors just swung open. Hopefully that's something they look at?
If you watch closely, he uses his forearm to push open the door.

Right now talking about how Darkness is a big theme for REmake 2, and how they tried to make the setting of Raccoon City look "wet" and damp.

They emphasized creating terrifying zombies for the game. They think scary zombies are a key feature of the game.

I'm loving how even 'normal' zombies are looking like a major threat. Multiple head shots aren't taking them down either.

Leon's running pace and narrow hallways make them a real threat when in numbers.

And people were scared the OTS perspective will make the zombie fights too easy.

I'm in on that. Couldn't believe the detail in the zombies we've seen and they seem like a threat with how close quarters the narrow corridors are.

You can save without ink ribbons in type writers.

But difficulty option provided for 'standard' RE saving with ink ribbons.

Good to hear

Confirms Ink Ribbons are in the game. Say they have several difficulty levels, they included difficulties with ink ribbons and some other classic RE features for those who want that challenge.

Also confirm outside of the initial game (and death, I'd assume), they aimed for REmake 2 to have no loading times and be pretty seamless experience.

No door opening animations, but they hope they made an enriching gameplay experience so people can forgive that.

Adding new areas to explore before reaching the RPD.
Even RPD has new areas added to it to explore.

I'm glad Capcom has a newfound respect for classic RE formula. Including the original OST with that game and now also Ink Ribbons is proof of that.

They put a lot of effort into making the shooting feeling good and dismemberment, and confirm (though a bit obvious) that they were aiming for limited resources and less resources than there are zombies, but wanted to make when you shoot satisfying and with response.

First shotgun gameplay happening.

OH WOW THAT SHOTGUN BLAST, that was visceral.

You can one shot them with the magnum but the weaker handguns it normally takes a few shots, especially in the original games and REmake 1.

RE4 & 5, the enemies are not really zombies but I'm still sure they can take more than 1 shot to the head.
Huh... Guess I remembered wrong then. Well, thanks for the answers anyway! Looking forward to playing the game and learning more about the franchise.
