I came back home and saw that it was changed by a mod who has no clue about rap and changed it back to the original title because moderation should not stand between you and your pettiness caused by FFZ's freakshow of a Kanye thread

zlwkeirqgq5y.png
(also, we allowed members to have fun in that Ye thread so why not the same with the Drake one)

Also, great to see a bunch of other Ye stans in that thread, I hope they will finally get good music
not to look a gifthorse in the mouth or be too nitpicky but I think the og title was "former rapper Audrey Graham" in reference to his signature/absence of the word 'Drake' on the cover fwiw

Even a crappy day concert festival around here with Smino, The Internet/Syd, and Raven Lenae cost a hundred. A theater venue is basically the smallest you'll get with almost every one of those acts in a medium sized city. Even at full price ($175) it's absurd.

Fuck the festival format im all about the small inside venue nowadays. Gonna be in Chicago mid July to see Suicideyear and Hayley Henderickx

Tight. We'll have to link up for the Hayley show.

If I had a choice yea, obviously small is the best way to see any artist. Festival is more about seeing like 20 people you been wanting to see plus being outside surrounded by ass and a fun excuse to get super faded. The lineup is heat. It's not like you'd ever be able to see Lauryn Hill in a bar anymore.

EDIT: and for what it's worth Pitchfork Music Festival is probably the "smallest" feeling festival I've been too.

I got a Friday ticket to mostly see Tame Impala but I didn't see anything too great on Saturday or Sunday to get a three day other than Fleet Foxes.

Edit: My favorite Chicago festival is next week. It's called "Mamby on the Beach" and it's been going on for like 3 years so far, and it's been a lot of fun each year. They always have a great variety of artists and I just love that it's on the beach.

Seattle
That's why inner-city festivals are good; tend to just be a roped off area of town where a few bars exist with mostly indoor shows and at most a show that takes place in the middle of an intersection outside.

Festivals at the Seattle Center here tend to be pretty dope; although the bigger acts do the outdoor stadium there are a ton of indoor halls too.

Friday def the best day if I had to pick one. But Saturday you got a few cool indie rock acts, plus the r&b, plus the crazy legacy act in this heat, plus the weirdo electronic acts and amazing vocalist in Zola Jesus. If you love music I don't see how you stay home

FZZ outchea going rage mode on Kanye and shitposting to the likes we haven't seen since the Recon era, openly linking to pirated downloads to albums without consequence, then complaining about how gaming side folk are angrier than they used to be. He really is 6ix9ine, ain't nothing touching this boy, every L is a W.

I like the novel locations like beaches too but those are rare. I bet the logistics, security and insurance required to have something like that near a body of water is crazy.

FZZ is actually schooling. He should get paid. According to ERA. People should get paid for drawing a line in a contest. So people giving out knowledge should get paid here.

I went to Pitchfork every year from 2013 - 2015 and each year was less fun than the last I hate the sun I hate being in an empty park with little character and feeling like I'm stranded on a tiny wasteland and going to clubs and bars is always better for me people actually dance and there's more intimate interaction with the artist

Midgar
very off topic but the fact that travis scott's rodeo is only in the 60s on metacritic still gets me kinda riled up. one of the best debut albums in recent memory, one of the best projects outta the whole post migos' versace trap sound, and so detailed and multi faceted in terms of production, song structure, and vibes of the tracks. killer hooks all over this thing (travis is so good with hooks and melodies), and trav's legit spittin on some of these tracks (i can tell, second half of 90210, wasted, to be specific)

it's honestly a masterpiece, don't @ me. tho i think CaptainBojanglesIII said something along these lines, too. he knows what's up

also fzz is the unproblematic fav we all deserve

Fully agree with everything you said. It's also just super draining being out there for 3 dayswhen you have real life shit. I use festivals to disconnect and stay normal. My cousin lives in Chicago and hasn't gone since the 2nd year. I def wouldn't go unless I could also take Monday and Tuesday off to recover.

I assume you mean what Des coined "New Chicago"? Smino, Saba & Co.
Yep and the variants coming out of different regions that I'm probably misidentifying as rapsoul.

Rapping over soul influenced instrumentals or soul singing over slower jazz style hip hop instrumentals, I'm really feeling the style.

I just need a new Kilo Kish project like K+ and I'll be in heaven.

Don't think Nas has actually came forth and straight up said he's Muslim but if you really listened to him you can tell he at least knowsquite about Quran. I wouldn't be surprised if one of his parents were Muslim

I can definitely see him leaning closer to Muslim instead of Christianity tho

Ima bring this conversation up again but Stillmatic is like Nas 6th or 5th best album. It'd likely drop even lower tonight
