I think the licker might also appear in the front hall. My take is that Marvin is going to get killed by a licker and his blood will splatter on the statue. We saw a screen with the bloodied statue, and in this shot, Marvin is looking at something with his gun out

So funny that we're going from RE7's Ethan to Leon oozing with personality. They really went the extra mile with small touches like his comments when encountering zombies though I do hope they tone it down a bit for the real game. I'm super excited to see what they do with Claire and how her in-game lines compare to Leon's.

Leon is so cute and innocent in this game <3

I love how he reacts to everything. He's a rookie and it shows, but he's also human. A major improvement over the original. And it's nice to see a likeable portrayal of him again. Still trying to block RE6 out of my mind.

Does anyone know if this remake will feature a full robust soundtrack like the vanilla on playstation 1?
Someone said if you preorder the deluxe you can get the original soundtrack.

Is said soundtrack actually in game music???

This game is quickly becoming the best direction for Resident Evil moving forwards.
This game is basically what I expected the series was heading toward after RE4 first trailer, classic RE with better shooting mechanics... I really didn't think we'd wait this long to get this kind of game lol.

Yep this is the way Resident Evil should have gone with RE4 - the same puzzle and exploration elements but with the third person camera and better combat. I'm so glad RE2 is going in this direction as it looks incredible.

They should have made RE4 a spin off with a new character and gone action heavy only in that sub-series.

One thing I do miss is dorky leon from RE2 OG haha

Lol yeah we've been waiting. That hookman version of Resident Evil 4 was what I wanted to play more than retail RE4 it had the right foreboding atmosphere. This game seems to be picking up where that left off where you can control the torch, but with retail RE4's camera in place.

this is all i've wanted since re4

Me to man, hopefully it keeps its momentum throughout the game. Resident Evil 7 dipped a bit and it can happen with this two given all the new things they are doing.

While Ethan lacked personality (and this was completely intentful), the Baker's were definitely oozing with personality, so I can see how they transitioned it there.

This also might be the scene where Marvin points the gun at Leon and tells him to leave him alone.

I love him so much

Can anyone give me a link to the best gameplay video of this game.

Decent play, which covers most if not all of the demo, with no commentary.

It's a mess on youtube. And hopefully somebody has a good link already on hand.

They need to remake RE4 after this. I need a Leon REmake duology. Imagine the castle levels and the boss fights remade in this engine. It would be glorious.

One of the things I'm really excited about is that we've seen all the awesome deformation/damage tech on normal zombies, but we're yet to see how that plays out on other monsters. Could be very interesting potentially.

This is what RE4 onwards shuld have been, not the roundkicking, boulder punching action movies.

20 years 200 years RE4 never needs a remake. RE4 is not subject to age. It will always be amazing.

For the most part I agree with you, but I kind of blame RE4 for starting all the crazy shit that RE5 and RE6 would overuse, so the idea of remaking RE4 with the tone and gameplay of RE2 Remake and erasing all the dumb over the top bullshit the later games had sounds pretty interesting to me.

If you removed the final island (or at leas toned it down) and made the game more like the first half would be awesome.

But RE4 is perfectly playable at the moment, its gameplay has barely aged and it still looks good, so no real reason for making a remake yet. We'll see in 10 years MAYBE.

RE3 first.

For some reason, I can't imagine them remaking Code Veronica. In some ways, it could use a remake the most, because it struggles to establish a horror atmosphere, but the silly aspects of the game and the Steve Claire romance bits are so absurd, that I'm not sure they could pull something like RE2make off if they tried. Then again, as I type this up, I'm slowly beginning to realize that RE7 isn't that different from the game in that regard.

Outbreak should probably be an HD port, rather than a remake, and include File 3's scenarios. But It needs to happen in some form. It was a generation too early.

RE4 could maybe use new textures, but that's about it. It's fine as is.

The best one imo was the stage demo they did where the shotgun blast gifs come from, but that has commentary :(

I'm pretty sure RE2make already layed some groundwork for RE3make. Like they already have some ideas for it and counted with it when they made this game.

My predictions for next few years are:

- January 2019 - RE2make
- January 2020 - action RE (Revelations 3)
- January 2021 - RE8
- January 2022 - RE3make

and so on.

Could be possible look like capcom didn't make spin off budget RE game anymore.

This is my most-wanted remake and I'd happily take RE3 after this but, to be honest, I don't think CV even deserves a remake. I don't like the setting(s) at all. I'd take an OTS RE1 before CV, and all the spin-offs can/should be left forgotten to time.

Well, I guess I'm in the minority who wants RE4 remade. I think it's showing its age visually, and it could use some toning down in the latter half if the game. But gameplay wise it has aged the least out of the RE games, I agree.

This sentiment should be a bannable offense.
