Where was Bravo teams office in the original anyway? I know Rebecca's desk is in among Alpha teams desks, but wasn't sure if there was some other room I'm forgetting that included the rest of the team.
Nope, I think the reasoning was "they worked in shifts" but it was always a bit weird to me especially with how specific the desks were.

New map looks like they could have them on both sides with the communication systems in that other area and lockers near the armory.

I really hope we get more details about what exactly happened to S.T.A.R.S. after the Mansion Incident. IIRC all we know is that Brad sided with Irons and the city didn't believe them.
latest

Irons shut them out. Brad didn't say anything, because he was scared (duh).

Really hope you are right. This is the game I've bee waiting for for ever damn it.
To their credit, Capcom can sometimes show willingness to listen to their fans and patch stuff like that. Granted I hated everything about 6 so the camera fix didn't help me personally but for those who enjoyed the game, it seemed to work better. I'm with you in that I've been waiting for this ever since REmake on GameCube so I understand. Here's hoping.

Ohhh I read a pc gamer article of saying their were tank controls

Based on previews, Leon feels "heavy" and there's a quick turn button. But then again, he's also supposed to have low stamina due to being a rookie. Tank controls of the past were not necessarily deliberate, but a product of their time. The clunkiness of the original trilogy was definitely not intentional. Many early 3D games had major issues with getting it right (another obvious example would be Battle Arena Toshinden, which has the fighting game equivalent of tank controls). There seems to be a lot more thought put into Leon's (in)ability to move in the remake.

I want to see someone shoot both arms off of a zombie, because I am curious if it will still be able to attack you in that state. I am sure it can still lunge at you, but would it still trigger the grabbing animation, or would there be a completely different animation associated with that particular situation?

Nope, I think the reasoning was "they worked in shifts" but it was always a bit weird to me especially with how specific the desks were.

To be fair, by the time we actually get to see the STARS office, a couple of months have already passed since the Mansion Incident, so it is not too much of a stretch to believe that their respective desks would have been more personalized by that time.

I've not played it, but there is no way it's tank controls based on the video, and I feel like the impressions I've heard would have mentioned it if it were. PC Gamer is almost certainly wrong.

Bravo Team did not have its own office. I believe the in-universe explanation was that they shared the same office, but worked different shifts from Alpha Team. By the time of Resident Evil 2, Rebecca had her own desk with Alpha Team for the simple fact that she was all that was left of Bravo Team.

A file written by her in the Nintendo 64 version of Resident Evil 2 also lists her as being a member of Alpha Team at that point.

Thanks, guys. There is definitely a lot they can expand on in the remake, really excited to see if they do.

Thought this would make me want to play RE games but when I play them I just want to play this instead lol. I guess I'll play AC Origins instead.

Would be cool if it tried lunging at you, and just fell to the ground unable to get up.

So, might this be considered legit at this point?

1529098146132.jpg

Sorry if old.
I've never believed this to be true since I know a few things it says to be false. I'll only tackle two points to give an example. Moving to the RE Engine in late 2016 is entirely untrue, as well as how they started work on the remake is inaccurate. RE3 REmake is not in any sort of active development right now.

Some really good observations here re: CVX, which is one of my favorites games not just in the series, but ever.

Anyways, what are the chances this game releases earlier than an announced? How often does that happen?

A few of my obeservations after watching the last gameplay from that Max video.

  • I am not a big fan of the item indicators. One of the best things about RE is searching around and exploring trying to find items. Even if it's for the smaller items like bullets or supporting documents. Finding these things is the best part of that first play through and adds a sense of discovery and wonder to the experience of the game. Maybe it can be disabled?
  • It looked like the knife has a usage limit from the description
  • Red herbs are purple?
  • Demo has a time limit?

Looks like a reskinned version of RE7. I don't know. I'll get it RE2 is my second favorite REmake being #1. But I'm not completely on board. Looks like too much of RE7 bleeding through.

Pls ban.

Honestly it takes a minute to get used to if you've never played the style but give it a shot and the controls become second nature and the design starts to reveal itself to you. I'm not talking from a perspective of nostalgia either, I didn't play any of the classic games until like 2014. They hold up real well.

Just played through the streets section of Claire A, i always feel like the city section is longer than it is lol. Hell of a way to start a game still. I just finished a playthrough of the OG Resident Evil not too long ago and RE2 really is a lot more cinematic and uptempo.

I'm super glad the streets section is being expanded in REmake 2, it's so great. I just hope it captures that desolate atmosphere so well. I don't want it to be like the chaos of Resident Evil 6's homage where cars are blowing up left and right and there are survivors everywhere, I love that it's just eerily quiet and lonely. The wind blowing, a crow cawing, and zombies moaning in the background are pretty much the only sounds besides your footsteps.

It looks like REmake 2 is altering the atmosphere slightly by making it rainy out which I think could be very cool.

The opening of 2 is one of my faves in the series. I'm really excited to see what they've kept in, I really hope Kendo's shop is still part of the opening.

I have never played any RE games, but these previews are getting me very interested. I think I have Renake from PS+, worth checking out before this?

For the deluxe edition weapons(Jill, Chris and Wesker's Samurai Edge) it would be really cool if at the very least the first time we had to collect them from the armory in the S.T.A.R.S. office(maybe their specific lockers even)
Than just starting with them or them in the item box.

REmake 1 is different to what REmake 2 will be but is not only the definitive Resident Evil, its one of the best games ever made.

Rev2 has the best writing in the seris with endearing characters and pretty rad plot. Rev1 not so much.

I second this. Rev2 made Barry my favourite RE character. He went from being a comic relief to actually having depth. It's pretty obvious that Capcom looked to The Last of Us for inspiration, but the results are great. The co-op is also well implemented for a change.

We all love REmake and consider it to have aged well, but I want it in this style. We need 1 and 3 redone like this so we have the new old trilogy.

Resident Evil 2 Remake on PC will use DX12 (not sure if exclusively, I haven't watched the video in the link either), and support Freesync, and Capcom are partnering with AMD to optimize for it.

https://www.dsogaming.com/news/resi...de-will-be-optimized-for-amds-graphics-cards/
Does that mean it'll be poorly optimized on Nvidia? I still can't get the AMD optimized Tomb Raider 2013 to run well at 4k, and that is an old game. This has me worried about running RE2 at 4k ultra...

Which bits of minor references to Outbreak and RE3 do you guys hope to see? I've got a list and probably only a few will appear but it's fun to dream. I don't expect the Zoo because all alleged leaks don't mention anything about infected lions or apes.

Brad Vickers super zombie
J's Bar
Jill's Burning Apartment
U.S.S. mercenaries dead bodies
Outbreak survivors cameo or written journals
Raccoon General Hospital
The Clock Tower

REMake and this game plays differently. REmake uses pre-rendered background and simplified shooting, while this game uses over the shoulder perspective, allowing you to have more aiming freedom and let you see what is in front of you.

Some of REmake's mechanics are rather dated but its still a great game IMO.

Any chances Invisible Mode from REmake/Rev2 being in this game?

The original RE2 doesn't have any invisible mode so the chances is next to none. The original RE2 has 2 mini extra scenarios one for Hunk and another for Tofu. Also a non-canon Extreme mode where you made your way from the Umbrella lab to the RPD while finding 4 bombs and fighting monsters along the way.

I mean, we all know it's a numbered title because of Sony's involvement and Code Veronica is the real 3 :p
That isn't true tho. Veronica was never 3. Kamiya and his team were making 3 which involved playing as the U.S.S. but they ultimately left the project due to the internal reveal of the PS2 to make RE4 on the platform, which later became Devil May Cry. It was in that left void that Nemesis became 3.

Anyone have video link with good gameplay (with no commentary if possible)?

I looked at Gamespot video & the player is lousy at shooting, it annoys me... /: (
