no the braves switched out their SP for a reliever and he gave up a hit basically immediatelyWhen you guys give us the no hitter alert, can you say who it is/what team? Just in case I want to tune in.
Is the no hitter still going?
And despite playing almost entirely first place teams in May, they're only 2 games off their pace from last year. And the division isn't a joke this year either. IIRC by this time last year they had a 10+ game lead in the division
Yes, they are good, that is half the point of my post. And despite playing almost entirely first place teams in May, they're only 2 games off their pace from last year. And the division isn't a joke this year either. IIRC by this time last year they had a 10+ game lead in the division
I saw a rumor somewhere that NYY was looking to trade Stanton+ for Harper. Sadly, can't remember where I read it. Is this even an official rumor or is it just raw BS?
I've been a Blue Jays fan for 35 years now, and I can't be bothered to watch them play as the team is just flat out boring. The team has no character. :(
The team lacks any sort of identity right now. It's definitely a transition period into a complete rebuild but I have been really enjoying Solarte, Tesco Hernandez and our starting pitchers turn it around.I've been a Blue Jays fan for 35 years now, and I can't be bothered to watch them play as the team is just flat out boring. Donaldson has been iffy this year with injuries. Say what you will about Bautista but he always managed to be entertaining. Osuna's shit has put a damper on the season as well.
I just want them to push past the 500 mark before the all star break.
Stanton is about 2/5ths of the way through the year with an OPS+ of 113. For a guy with an AAV of about $30M that's not a deal you want control of.Harper's contract is up after this year. There's no reason to trade for Harper when they could just sign him next year. Stanton's contract is until 2027 with a club option for 2028, plus a player opt out in 2020. The Yankees aren't giving up control of a player for half a year of production.

If they could bail out for Harper I'm sure they would as it'd remove draft pick compensation for Harper and let them effectively trade Stanton's money for Harper's next deal. It also opens a corner OF spot for Harper. How would they otherwise sort out Stanton/Judge/Harper without permanently committing DH to one of them?
It'd be ideal for the Yankees. I see no reason why the Nationals do that versus paying Harper the money they'd be taking on for Stanton.
deGrom or Thor sure would look nice in a Braves cap.......not sure i'd be willing to pay the price though.
Injuries and an offense that consisted of characters like A-Gon, Jose Lobaton, and the corpse of Jose Reyes. That plus an inconsistent bullpen. Oh and the Braves. At least they'll single-handedly keep the DBacks from winning the West and they can have that as an accomplishment.Man, how the hell did they fall off so fast after that 11-1 start...
we now live in a world where Nick Markakis is the #1 vote getter in the NL OF, lol.
