I send twist feedback every new update to clean the twists.
Mixer, Entertainment and def Gamepass need to be hide-able.

I dont think the Gamepass twist will last. I imagine alot of non-gamepass users have sent feedback that its not what they want,

The thing im kinda worried about is where will the Entertainment Twist go.....cuz there are people who want to use XB1s as media boxes, finding content cant be hidden in the general Store.
The Entertainment twist is actually how I used to find out new movies or series were on Netflix or available to watch now.
So I kinda liked it. For those that dont use the Xbox as an Entertainment centre an option to hide the twist should be there.

Ill campaign for hiding twists every update but cant send feedback twice for same update.

This is why we are Alpha+ we need to test and keep sending feedback.

Anyone having issues with trimming a video capture via the dashboard? Tried it a few times with a AC:Origins cap, and it just died at the very end. Reported it a few times, just wondered if anyone else has had the same issues.

I've been following this thread as I'm not brave enough to put my One X back in preview. This seems like it'll be one of my favorite changes in recent months. I literally never used the entertainment tab as I found pins to be much more efficient for media apps.

Yes, all the time. Rarely works except after a hard reset.

Fixes:

Microsoft Edge

Fixed an issue with Microsoft Edge changing the default zoom level of all newly created tabs when going into reading mode so it displays correctly.

Localization

Various localization fixes across the console.

System Performance

Misc. performance fixes in the platform.

YouTube

The issue with some users are encountering an issue with the Youtube app stuttering is being resolved by YouTube with an app update.

Some users may notice that the online status of Friends is not updating correctly.

Groups

Some users may encounter an issue where their Pins are not displaying artwork or are seeing a while tile instead of their profile color.
Workaround: Please perform the following steps to fix the issue
- Open My Games & Apps
- Navigate to Groups tab
- Scroll to the bottom of the page
- Select Delete all groups
- Select Delete local groups
The Groups tab in My games & apps may not show after sign in even though you can access Groups in Guide, or you may see "This group does not exist" on Home on first sign-in for your existing Groups. Workaround: Sign in / out to refresh these pages.
Some changes might not be reflected when editing Groups between multiple consoles after coming out of connected standby. Sign in/out to fix.
Using special characters in Group names (e.g. &,") causes issues during Group creation or using the "Add more" flow. Note: emojis are fine. This is being fixed in an upcoming build.
You may see issues with Groups if you frequently switch between your non-Preview console and your Preview console. Workaround: Reset your Groups locally on the Preview console through "My games & apps" > Groups, then using the "Reset groups" button at the bottom of the page to resync from the service.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter an incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

Networking

Work continues on the stability of the Wi-Fi connectivity. If you see any issues please report the problem for investigation by performing a Full system software via the dashboard as opposed to just pressing the Xbox Power button.

YouTube

Some users are encountering an issue where their YouTube account is being signed out whenever they launch the app.
- Workaround: Uninstall/re-install the app and sign in with your account again.

So i have the game pass tab up top, but i still dont have the listing of games in my games & apps section. still just games, apps, members ships, groups. nothing listed for specific game with gold.

Surprised no one's mentioned this yet, but Alpha Skip Ahead and Alpha users are being flighted the new avatar creator app today. I don't think it's all Alpha users, but there's some good videos over on reddit.

Fixes:

Audio:

Fixes are in the build to resolve audio dropouts that users have been experiencing. This fix focuses on Video app audio dropouts that have impacted apps such as Amazon, Netflix streaming and Games such as Minecraft. Atmos HDMI users who own Denon AVRs have been experiencing these drops should not see this behavior anymore.

Friends

We have resolved the issues in which some users noticed that the online status of Friends was not updating correctly.

Game Clips:

The Trim feature used the Y button to allow the user to save their trimmed clip and issues resulted with this input. There are times that the Y button is not available and thus the search functionality is invoked by mistake. We have changed the key mapping as well as the icon mapping on the page to show the X button.

Groups:

Users should no longer see the Groups tab in My games & apps may not show after sign in. You should no longer see "This group does not exist" on Home on first sign-in for your existing Groups.
Fixed an issue in which some changes were not be reflected when editing Groups between multiple consoles after coming out of connected standby.
Fixed the issue to enable using special characters in Group names (e.g. &,").

My Games and Apps

Fixed an issue that some users where experiencing with game installations and DLC failing randomly.
Fine tuned the Toast notifications when installing a title that supports Fast Start

Fixed an issue in which some users would not see any Groups returned when querying for a certain title.

Localization

Store App

The inconsistency of Xbox Dashboard updates will never not be confusing, puzzling and mysterious to me.

I still don't have the GamePass/Gold/EA section under my games that even people have who never were in the preview program but I have this new Game Pass tab in my dashboard.

As beta user.

It's great and I love it by the way, cause it's almost like the new section that I still hope to get for the my games section, but I thought it's just for alpha?

Anyway, I can officially change to "skip ahead Alpha" now which I do right now, maybe that's why I already got this tab, now I only need to wait to get accepted. :) (Still under "pending" and "your registration is taking longer than expected, please check back later")

Now it would be awesome to test the new avatars but unfortunately, this is all that happens when I open the new app.

It's a permissions bug at their end, Tweet at Brad and he'll look into it for you.

But be prepared, it's very beta.

I played around with the new Avatar app last night. It worked fine but I really don't care for the new designs. I actually like the old ones more. One thing that annoyed me is the weird shapes for the bigger body types. I'm a big bulky guy but not really obese and none of the options work. They are all either skinny, normal, muscular, or bottom-heavy pear-shaped fat-ass. No way to adjust the fatness or the pear/apple ratio, etc. I ended up having to pick a more muscular type (even tho I'm not) because none of the others really fit.

Send feedback on it. They seem very open to making sure people can make the avatars fit what they want so be sure to send feedback.

Agreed, I couldn't get my likeness how I wanted it, they seemed to be more effort into the more 'diverse' shapes, and a regressed selection of 'normal' templates. It's a shame as if this avatar editor is somehow using the Kinect Sports code, as that managed to get my facial features very accutate.

I didn't care for the beard/moustache options, and the body shape options is just bizarre, also having no live preview sucks. Hopefully, this is just the first iteration and it'll get more developed, as it stands I don't think I'll be using it once it's released.

After the last update, bitstream passthrough worked fine before, but not after the December 2017 update. I hear that members on preview program can set their consoles so that their Home Theater Receiver can "decode" the audio signal instead of the Xbox One S/X doing it. This only works for BluRay's now.

Now every time when you select Dolby Atmos for Home Theaters (HDMI only) Xbox decode everything as Atmos and this is wrong...

Thats probably why you not seeing it outside the US.

I know precisely why I'm not seeing it, I disagree with it being segmented off to a particular region, thus all builds like this will get marked down.

Ohh my bad I misread your post.

Arent certain preview features always segmented by region?
I believe Microsoft Rewards is another feature that is region specific.
Its probably to get a better test case in Alpha then they can roll it out to other regions assuming this sticks (I keep reporting that the twist shouldnt exist for none Gamepass members).
You want all builds in all regions to be the same?

I wouldnt keep downvoting builds that effectively work for your region because a feature they specifically say isnt being tested in your region err...isnt being tested in your region.

Arent certain preview features always segmented by region?
I believe Microsoft Rewards is another feature that is region specific.
Its probably to get a better test case in Alpha then they can roll it out to other regions assuming this sticks (I keep reporting that the twist shouldnt exist for none Gamepass members).
You want all builds in all regions to be the same?

I wouldnt keep downvoting builds that effectively work for your region because a feature they specifically say isnt being tested in your region err...isnt being tested in your region.

I've already pointed it out to Brad several times I don't like it, it kinda goes against the whole testing ethos for me. But hey, I'm only in the Alpha/Skip Ahead wave, what do I know? Lol.

And I'd disagree about explicitly advertising a feature in a build that they want testing, but then in the parenthesis saying it's US only.

Anyone in Beta having Vudu issues? Only started since the last update where movies will constantly show the loading screen every few seconds. Debating removing preview all together.

Well as i said giving a build a bad review because they arent testing a feature in your region is quite silly.

But hey do you.
I dont see them stopping region specific feature tests any time soon.
It just seems like a waste of a review if the moment you see a feature isnt being tested in your region you immediately downvote it.

If theres anything against the "testing ethos" its a tester who give immediate bad responses for things clearly indicated.

Go back a wave or two.
Region specific testing aint going away any time soon.
If you really desperate for the twist to test it, just change regions test it and then give a proper review of the build.

Now that Skip Ahead is closed dont you feel bad having taken the spot of someone who will actually test whatever features are being presented before giving the build a bad review.
But hey, I'm only in the Alpha/Skip Ahead wave, what do I know? Lol.

Not really. I've provided invaluable feedback up to now (nearly 2.5 years in the programme), just because I disagree with one aspect of the programme doesn't mean I think it's a waste of time, and follow your 'order' - that would be silly.

Great news about the RS5 build coming this week, I was wondering when we'd get the first major "Skip Ahead" build. Looking forward to seeing what new features will be in it!
