Just got to the section where you play as Sherry in Claire A. Never liked this part (or even the similar section in RE4 where you play as Ashley). I'm sure they'll keep this section in the remake, but I hope they keep it mercifully short.

I wonder how they'll handle this because I want them to extend Ada's section, and well, I'd expect if they did that they'd extend Sherry's too.

because you're felt powerless ?

More because Sherry is slow. Pushing and climbing on those crates with her was really tedious, since her climbing animation was much longer than the adult characters'. IIRC it was also impossible / very hard to not getting hit by cockroaches since they were moving faster than her.

They mentioned Sherry will be able to defend herself, like Natalia in Rev2

RE3 felt inconsequential after you finish it. If they remake it, it should just be part of RE2MAKE Expansion.
Like name it "RE2 -- Nemesis Chapter".

Code Veronica felt more like RE sequel.

Finally someone else who see's it the same way I do. RE3 just doesn't have enough merit to require a full $59.99 remake, an expanded stand alone or DLC campaign to RE2 Remake will be sufficient.

Are you guys serious? You think having to make HD assets Raccoon City Downtown with all the Diners/City Hall/Gas Stations/Indoor Environments, Raccoon City Uptown with the Hospital/Graveyard/Tram Station, Clock Tower, Abandoned Factory with all the subplots of the mercenaries & Nemesis set pieces isn't a full game price budget?

Especially in a game with far fewer backtracking than RE2 or RE7.

I can't believe that they left in Kamiya's JoJo reference on the locker. That's a good sign that lots of love and passion are going into this game.

Quick small poll, I know a lot of us are or will be replaying OG RE2 in preparation for this remake.

But how many of you guys will play Darkside Chronicle's version of Resident Evil 2 ?

I was actually thinking about doing that, since I genuinely enjoyed the Chronicles games. That might have been because it was the closest thing we've had to an RE2 remake at the time though, lol.

Heads-up, I think the stream Capcom TV did today confirmed Extreme Battle Mode.

There was a new song from REmake 2 playing in the background of them talking in the stream. This was the clearest time stamp I could find where you can hear it (2 hours 6 minutes and 40 seconds in):

I recognized it but couldn't place on where I'd heard it before, so I quickly went through all of RE2's music and I think I found it.

It's a bit hard to hear, but I think it's a new take on the Extreme Battle Mode music from RE2:

So if I'm hearing it right, I think it might confirm Extreme Battle Mode is in. There's a few songs for Extreme Battle Mode, but all of them use a few similar sounds to each other not used in the rest of RE2, and the song from the stream is using those same sounds (the drums, both the bigger and more military ones, this one low horn thing, and a few other touches), so I'm pretty certain even if not the exact song it's an Extreme Battle Mode song.

Hell yea. Best RE side mode. Lvl3 difficulty and item randomness was always such a blast. I hope they keep those aspects.

Slightly off topic, but as someone that's never played the Dual Shock version of RE2, or any ports, I can't believe this riff copies one of the riffs from the Terminator 2 film so directly, with only the final note taking it in a different direction.

I put the audio in Audacity and got rid of the voices. It's not perfect but you can hear the music a lot better now:

4k footage too? Wow, thanks Capcom. I think I've watched every video released of this so far and I just want more. It's really giving me a feeling I haven't had for RE since RE4.

Did they really include a subtle contextual animation where Leon gets startled when a zombie slams a door open?

This game.

EDIT:Looking like the player pulls back.

Genuinely hyped for this. Classic RE with modern tech. What's not to like?

P.s.: RE2 has the best saferoom music in the franchise. So glad that the original composer is on board for this remake.

Yea may have jumped the gun, watching the video it seems they rehearsed this run through to make the demo look as scary as possible.

Yeah, it's a nice transition animation though because it fits the context of this game. Usually when you're quickly pulling back, it would be from a startled state/reaction.

I need this game like right now, it is amazing how good (modern) it looks yet it still strikes the exact nostalgic vibes of the original.

I'm actually actively avoiding replaying it right now despite my current perma-boner for this game trying to force me to do it anyway.

I haven't played OG RE2 for long enough that this may actually be semi-fresh to me when it hits.

The lack of the original game's soundtrack is annoying me a great deal, but aside from that, this looks fuckin amazing.
