So just want to make sure I'm reading this right... You can use all three tickets for the same show, if you wanted to?

does the "3 movies a week" work if you get 3 seats to 1 movie per week? so you can essentially have 1 account for multiple people?
My parents' moviepass is expiring and they only go to AMC so I would like to get this for them, wondering if I would need 1 or 2 subs.

Didn't even consider that, would be a no-brainer if you could.

I walk past an AMC Dolby Theatre every day on my way back from work and can't use Moviepass there but with this I could go whenever I want after work, would be awesome.

I'm assuming you can't buy more than 1 ticket for the same show - that would seem like quite the loophole.

I think this clause in the FAQ probably covers it:
You will not be able to make a reservation if the start of that movie begins before the previous movie ends.

I just would love a couples or family option. I don't even care about getting a discount for more than 1 person - I'd just like the option of having it all on one account for convenience, especially for reserved seating.

I know that MoviePass has a clause where you have to be in the program for 12 months right? I don't think AMC has this, so you can theoretically unsubscribe whenever.

I read in this thread that there is a 3 month commitment.

And I don't know if there have been some rule changes, but my moviepass sub is monthly with no commitment.

Man its nice to know that even if Moviepass goes under, there will be deals like this out there.

We have way more Regals around me though so hopefully they do something similar.

This seems like a month to month option after the first three months, who's to say they won't jack up the price as soon as MP goes under?

Ah shit so I can't buy tickets for two for the same movie?

Hmm. Went from an instabuy to a might buy.

I had this same thought.

This could just be a test experiment and after the summer is over, they'll jack the price to $24.99 or $29.99.

At first that sounded too expensive but seeing a movie in IMAX or Dolby alone costs about 17 or 18 bucks. I'd have to see more movies that I probably wouldn't see so I wouldn't be wasting money.

Damn, this is not good for reserving seats in advance like an Avengers or something. Can't buy another ticket until after the current reservation is over

I am in for this, provided I can rewatch movies.
My AMC has the most anime, and most of those are from Focus, which aren't covered by Moviepass.
3 movies weekly is ok. Was hesitant on Sinemeria cause 3 movies a month is nothing.

Can't repost it from mobile but the MoviePass twitter is salty as hell over this.

Like others in this thread, I wish they would do a couples plan for something like $30-35. I'll use Moviepass till it crashes and burns since it has gotten a lot better once they added Landmark theaters for E-ticket near me and then hop to AMC's service.

Site says if you subscribe, price is guaranteed for 12 months. They could still jack the price up in a few months but at least it seems that you're safe if you get in now.

If you have/enjoy premium formats available at your AMC, the monthly fee is probably close to the amount you'd pay for a single showing for one of those.

Yeah, I did consider this... And I do enjoy a few IMAX movies a year, but I'm not sure if it's worth it as there aren't enough big movies that I'd want to see in IMAX to justify the purchase.

Its a better deal in theory.

But you gotta goto the theater the day of to get your ticket. And this is the worst for big release movies. You now have to upload a pic of your damn ticket everytime now. You cant watch the same movie more than once. And its only on the basic 2d. No dolby or imax or 3d

That's all true, especially for new big release movies.

I've never had to upload a pic before so i'm guessing it could depend on the theatre? I very rarely watch the same movie twice in theatres but i could understand why that would be a deal breaker for some. And I wish they did offer imax or 3d, but i'm cool with going without it when i could go to a Flix Brewhouse, pay for dinner, and watch a movie for "free" practically.

I hope you can use AMC gift cards to redeem this or if they offer specific gift cards for it. This would be a great gift for some people, including me.

I'd be interested if it meant ushers would be vigilant and kick assholes out who are on their phone etc, but with garbage crowds I'm not interested at half the price.

Yeah, I think I'm getting it. I already drive 30 minutes to watch a movie. What's another 8 minutes?

My closest AMC is the one in Disney Springs.

Was always curious about MoviePass, and the local theater here is an AMC with assigned seating. Seems like a decent deal overall, but I might wanna wait on more details coming out.

No, youll eventually have to upload. They did a test run and then said officially, that everyone will start having to upload a pic of thier ticket. Check your emails.

I've actually been very surprised lately how good crowds have been. I don't know if it's just my luck, but phone use is way down and everyone seems pretty well behaved.

Wait I just googled Cinepass for Canada...and we have something called Sinemia? With a 13 dollar per month for two movies for two people option? For Cineplex?

Okay what. I'm sure I'm reading this wrong.

I may go ahead and do this I think. I'm always using either AMC or Centur theaters for their Dolby and XD showings. Tho this will ruin my usual operating procedure of watching new movies on weekdays early in the morning to beat the loud crowds that wouldn't pay the expensive ticket prices.

If I could do 2 movies a week WITH A GUEST, I'd be down for this.

But $19.99 for 3 movies just by myself? Might as well use movie pass.

I saw Solo at a Dolby Cinema, it looked and sounded incredible, but the ticket was $14. So, yeah, I'm in $20 for a month.

This seems like a good deal as I go to AMC quite a bit outside of theater house or indie movies since they never play at AMC. I usually went to showtimes before noon in 2D so I could pay only like 6 bucks a ticket, but if I can go see more things in iMAX or Dolby, with the flexibility of seeing things at whatever time of day, then that just seems like a great deal. I'm signing up Tuesday for the three months to see how it goes. Wish there was a yearly discount.

Edit: I guess I do have some lingering questions, like how does it work when I reserve a ticket for myself and a guest. Do I just pay for the guest, and do I get points for them and not myself? I know it says I dont' get points myself but I'd like to know how it works with a guest. With the amount of movies I want to catch up on next week/end, the first month is going to pay for itself in a day or two.

I guess I don't go often enough anymore (due to crowd's being awful) to tell.

I used to go multiple times a week (during my grad school days I had a perfect 1130-3 gap most days and was walking distance from a theater) but once that was over and I started going at night time with awful crowds I only go like once a year to a regular theater + once to the drive in.
