The Star Wars fandom has gotten pretty weird, huh? This fixation some people have on what the movie should have been seems unhealthy, and I say that as someone who just thought The Last Jedi was kind of OK.

Fan made content tends to be awful.

You take that back.

You know, it takes a special kind of terrible to be willing to try and replace Carrie Fisher's last movie in a manner this disrespectful.

SW nerds are petty af lol. As a huge fan of the series, the movie overall was just ok doesn't warrant this amount of backlash though lol.

What a mess. Just let it be and have it take its place in the saga.

I'm not a Star Wars fan, but this is so funny/ridiculous. It's gonna come out like Homer's car design.

You know.

Disney should accept.

Remake the movie at the expense of these idiots, put it on theaters so they pay up to see it, several times most likely.

Then declare that the first version is the canon one an bury this shit on the Disney Vault forever.

I thought The Last Jedi was mediocre at best and that its impact on the franchise as a whole is far larger than many here would like to admit, but remaking the film would be silly. I'm also not sure why these types of threads keep getting made here. It's a twitter account with 400 followers. Hardly newsworthy.

Everything about this is asinine. The idea that someone will give them a budget to reshoot a movie cause they didn't like this. You don't like the movie, that's fine just move on with you life. Why go through all this?

Seth Rogen is a patient man for trying to have a conversation with these people through twitter.

...

He's making fun of them.

If he was mimicking a tweet that was similar to his I would agree with you. He was reacting to this silly initiative by the Remake TLJ people and he went a little overboard and looks angry. He should have just said good luck or something witty instead of what reads like a momentary meltdown.

For the record remaking the movie is idiotic.

It's like Star Wars fans are jealous that other fandoms get to be in the news for bad things so they want to be the worst fandom of all time.

You're reaching, he's clearly mocking them.
that you're even arguing that this is anything but laughing matter to him is kind of telling.

I haven't kept up with this hate. What is it people hate about TLJ? Is it Like shoving his shoulder? Is it Leia forcing her way back to the spaceship? What exactly is it that some people don't like?

I myself loved the movie. But I'm just curious.

TLJ and Rian felt like a giant troll to the Star Wars universe, but in no way would Disney ever allow this to happen, like a 0% chance, let alone would anyone have lined up like 100+ million to invest in a "fan" movie.

I mean just look at what happened with the Star Trek fan movie that was getting "decent" production values and how hard CBS came down on it.

For me it was a myriad of things.

The Leia scene made no real sense, I mean if she used force pull WHEN she got blown out and was awake? That'd have been fine, we know she's force sensitive and she could do that. It was the whole floating in space for "x" amount of time while somehow magically staying alive with no space suit or anything and not succumbing to a myriad of things that would happen to your body when exposed to the vacuum of space, etc that irked me and just seemed goofy.

Luke and his hatred of Jedi and everything, the way he's shown to just want to bury his head in the sand, felt really unlike Luke from the OT. Throwing the lightsaber away simply to get a laugh from the audience, how he basically just lets Kylo go and doesn't even try to "fix" the issue he created, that's not what Luke would've done as he was shown in the OT. Then there's the ending scene, it seems like these movies only have the original cast in them so they can kill them off really, with Han in the first one and then Luke in the second one.

The comedy throughout the movie never really lands for me, it seems so ham fisted and often is taken at the expense of a character or plot device instead of an actual decent joke/line that's funny.

Finn felt fairly useless and was treated as a minor sidecharacter, he should have been one of the main characters. The whole Rose plotline felt tacked on and really one-sided with how quickly she falls in love with him, to the point that she literally does the OPPOSITE of what her character was shown to be doing (stopping deserters because of her sisters sacrifice) by throwing the ENTIRE rebel force under the bus to save Finn.

The Kylo/Rey story was the most interesting part, and it felt like they were going for something that would shake up things and change the direction of the characters, I was totally on board with this when it was happening, them teaming up against Snoke, and then.....in true Hollywood fashion they quickly 'splain it all away and move Kylo into a generic "evil" role completely negating his redemption arc and everything that I found interesting about his story/character in the movie, ruining that whole part.

Snoke, the big bad from TFA, we never get any backstory, his character isn't really fleshed out or given a bit of depth, just serves as a red herring for Kylo to become the main villain.

However there are some haters that legit go over a line with Star Wars. It's fine to hate a movie and dislike it, everyone is entitled to an opinion. However it's a bloody MOVIE. Some people cross that line, like actually attacking an actress involved and others that worked on it, and that's just unacceptable.

Can we get The Dark Knight Rises remade with the Robin character completely removed and the Talia death scene reshot so it's less funny next?

When I read a tweet like that filled with emotes and the same word over and over and elongated that person had to have actually typed it all out and ya that person is pissed. We've seen how Rian mocks SW fans he has done it before and we know how that looks. Again if he was responding to a similar tweet and exagerating then I would agree but he wasn't. I'm not sure what is telling about arguing what to me looks like a manic tweet but ok.

Good. The Last Jedi is the worst movie I've ever seen. I'm 34 and have seen over 1000 movies.

TLJ ruined my fandom of star wars. Solo was quite enjoyable though.

Maybe the problem is you and not TLJ, and maybe your fandom wasn't worthy enough to survive.

Solo is literally a film that will be largely forgotten by history.

TLJ is in line with the other Star War movies just more self aware.

They should make a full on comedy that be cool for the remake :3

It's become as amorphous as the hate towards Obama, Hillary and other things. There are some legit grievances people have with the script, maybe, or the character of Luke, and other things, but nothing even warrants "hate" like this. It's a movie, after all.
