At this point Sylvanas is worst then fucking Garrash. At least Garrosh retained his honour, and many redeemable qualities, Sylvanas is just a monster. She's become worst then fucking Arthas.

Sylvanas was always trash. Pretty sure making her warchief will end up helping in the long run somehow, though, as a "what a twist" moment. Are undead immune to Old God whispers?

Is there any news on when Legion joins the base game? We're now pretty close to BoA if it releases in August.

It is so great that they have added music for the game now. Playing on the Beta was weird without having music everywhere. It makes me love Drustvar even more!

I haven't really listened to any of the KT music yet. I still really love the Zuldazar theme. It reminds me of Pandaria in a really good way, but it's still its own thing. It's the bit that kicks in around 1:35 in the login screen music.

DO NOT TALK ABOUT MY ONE TRUE LOVE LIKE THIS

(i finally finally watched the trailer for BfA and holy shit she is so goddamn cool i want to marry her)

(i will also freely admit that i'm biased, i've always loved the horde)

(i will also be completely frank and say that i think anduin is the most boring leader to ever exist in warcraft)

Greymane and his understanding of the forsaken does get quite a bit more humane with the meeting between forsaken family and living family. Sylvanas though he would never trust and honestly she has given no one a reason to trust her. At this point I suspect Voljin got swayed by corrupted spirits to make her warchief.

So . when He is gonna dismantle the 7th legion then

Anduin's one of the only legitimate peace seeking leaders in either faction with every decision for war weighing heavily on him. He's by far the most unique out of all the leaders so far outside of Bloodhoof.
I agree. Here's a post I made on reddit about why I like him so much:

My tastes are somewhat vanilla when it comes to liking characters. I tend to gravitate towards heroes and good guys (although I always appreciate a tragic villain). Anduin has been a genuinely golden soul for most of the time we've known him, which contrasts heavily with most other faction leaders in a world full of constant conflict. He also differs from peaceful leaders in that he's a really pro-active and very loud character, always wanting to make a real difference by helping others, whether it be physically or emotionally. His training under Velen is also a very unique facet of his character. The way he contrasted with his warrior father, and how the two of them helped each other develop as characters, was also one of my favorite storylines to watch unfold.

Seeing him grow up over the course of WoW's lifetime has been great, as well.

I'm not happy about Varian's death, but at the same time, I'm really glad Anduin gets his time in the limelight now. I only hope they don't go for the "light makes you crazy" angle some people think Blizz is going to take with him.

Anduin's only potentially interesting quality to me was a partnership with Wrathion, and Wrathion has apparently been abandoned as a plot thread, even though he had the best quest chain of MoP.

He's just an utterly generic pacifistic golden boy without that dichotomy, and the pacifist role was better utilized by Jaina before they ruined her character with a heel turn.

I figured Wrathion would be used again eventually. He had a small side story going on during WoD that hinted he was up to thing.

I hate the direction they have gone with Sylvanas, but at the same time I also cannot stand Anduin. Giving him Brad Pitt's sex face in the cinematic was the last straw. As dull as a completely evil character like Sylvanas is, the same is true of a perfect Boy Scout character like Anduin. He has zero depth and seems to only exist to demonstrate how amazing humans are and why they should lead the alliance.

I hope Anduin ends up becoming a Lightforged zealot that wants to forcefully convert the planet so that we get to kill him. At least it would make him interesting.

I can't help but to think Wrathion was forgotten because Dave Kosak is no longer one of the leads in WoW's story department. Same way Thrall "retired" right after Metzen left Blizzard.

I like to believe Wrathion got put on the backburner due to Blizzard being sad and frightened by wrathion and anduin shippers.

After seeing the spoilers for the burning of Teldrassil lead-up quests(and the direct contradictions within), I'm going to make a really crackpot call here and say that we(as players) hate Sylvanas right now because the old gods(and Blizzard in a meta sense) are trying to turn everyone against her.

Teldrassil(and the quests leading up to it) were manipulated far more by the old gods than any of us realize, and the Alliance are seeing(some) acts of war/violence by Sylvanas/the Horde that simply didn't happen(or didn't happen like the Alliance thinks they did). This is an even bigger stretch, but I also think the players may be being deliberately mislead by the novels and in-game quests in a similar manner(perhaps with what exactly happened in Hillsbrad). Sylvanas is an easy target to turn both players and fictional character against - the alliance hates her, a large chunk of her horde doesn't fully trust her(not to mention the fairly recent deposition of another warchief that's fresh in everyone's minds), and neither does the player base. If the other theories are correct and the forsaken are truly immune to old god whispers, then Sylvanas should be enemy #1 of the old gods and may be being targeted by them.

That would make Calia's turn(and the potential for another undead faction) a likely catalyst for someone to discover an old god plot against Sylvanas. I wouldn't expect something like this from the Blizzard we had up through WoD, but there were some pretty clever/interesting turns in Legion, and I think we should expect similar things here.

Wrathion was also supposed to play a major role in the Highmountain zone quest chain, but that was dumped in beta and replaced with yet another redeemed black dragon who mumbles something about "family matters."

I'm not sure if I'm buying the expansion.. I have no interest in scheduled raiding since I simply can't.. Plus we got Spider Man on the PS4 coming out in early September.. Moving to October till December means even more games... I don't know.

It's not old gods. If it were you'd see tentacles and shit everywhere. Blizz's writing is as subtle as an elephant in a glass store. Blizz just wants the Horde to be baby killing psychos and the Alliance pure and good.

LOL at the grasping at straws to excuse the burning of Teldrasil.

If the final event is as we currently see it, it would be entirely consistent with the behavior of Sylvanas we have seen since Cataclysm. She has been performing evil acts ever since then, and we need no old god excuses to explain her actions.

There is no reason to whitewash her actions in this case.

Given that Blizzard is filled with frat bros who insert innumerable gay jokes, I wouldn't be surprised. They'd certainly never do something so interesting as to make them gay.

eehhh. I don't really find some peoples need to have any two single character who have any type if interaction/relationship to become a romantic item particular interesting.

What « evil deed » has she done in Cata, MoP, WoD and Legion exactly

Or... hyperbolic statement is hyperbolic

Converting people to undead without their consent and altering their minds in the process.
Err no that's not how becoming a forsaken works

You get to chose if you accept or refuse and then you go back to beeing dead. So again which evil deed did she perform in those 4 expansions I listed (and please provide at least one per expansion)

You need to go look at the events on Fenris Isle, the frequent use of the plague gasses, her suggestion to raise Alliance dead during the Seige of Ogrimar, and many other instances. Even before Legion she has fantasized about killing her sister and raising her as an undead.

You may have choosen to ignore her evil actions, but that doesn't mean they haven't been there.

Yeah they kinda realized they had a huge problem when the story in Highmountain said Wrathion would have been saved several hundred years earlier...........you know........before the quest chain you can do that has to do with his birth/surviving in one of the remade zones from Cata.

The only character that will come out of this expansion looking as badass, cool, and honorable as he has always been is my main man Varok Saurfang. He's got a plan, he's got the skills, and he is just going to rain hell on people not possessing honor (this includes the perpetually scheming Sylvanas). FOR THE HORDE! (Baine and soon to be Life Loa Vol'jin ;) are a close second and third. Hopefully, Thrall too if they do something interesting with him and he stops being a sad sack).

Saurfang is awesome. I hope they do something cool with him this expansion.

I want the Horde to have heroes, and I want them to have wins. In fact, I would be fine with them coming out ahead of the Alliance this expansion.

Sylvanas is pretty problematic though. TBH, I would have believed it if the old gods turned out to be behind the burning of Teldrasil. That's what I assumed when I first heard about it.

But that doesn't seem to be what the datamining is suggesting. And what it is suggesting is entirely believable given Sylvanas characther.

TLDR: More Saurfang, less Sylvanas.

None of those things are inherently evil and the Siege of Orgrimmar quote was an obvious joke she made at the time.

As for Vareesa, she herself entertained the idea before remembering her offspring.

In short you don't really have anything beyond the typical « she's evaaaallll because I said so ».

In my book Gehn did far more despicable shit but I don't see you complain about it (nor will you read me asking for his head).

She's not straight up evil. She's grown desperate and ruthless in her undeath. If theres a better way she'll take it but she won't shirk from playing the part she's been assigned

The preservation of herself, her people, and the horde in that order

Sylvanas has a problem and it's not one that many realize.

Fear.

She fears what will happen to the Forsaken if they can not replenish their numbers since they can't repopulate like any other race and she fears the darkness that will claim her once she finally dies. It is due to her fear that she acts the way she does and fear makes people do great terrible things. History is full of it, fear of the unknown, of different people that caused people to do some horrible things. It is fear that drives Sylvanas despite the fact she may act brave and not cower in the traditional ways. It causes her to do things she might otherwise never do.

Sylvanas wanting to spread the cancer of undeath, and considering her people a race that needs to propagate despite the cursed nature of their existence, is what nailed the nail in the coffin for me. She's straight up evil and delusional, and it's only snowballed since then.

I still think she'll end up saving the world, though. Because this is Blizzard and that's how they do things. I also hated Illidan and pretty much all of his idiotic actions, and look where he ended up.
