What.
So who set Nick up? Couldn't have been the Waterford's unless they figured the guys would catch Nick with June and return her but kill him. Now they're without their handmaid...
3 scenarios come to mind; bad luck, Nicks wife, or Fred Waterford. I'm leaning towards Fred just cause of what June said to him about the baby not being his but I wouldn't be surprised if it's just a case of bad luck.What.

Fucking eerie.Fuck I don't know if any media has ever made me cry more than this episode did.
It was incredibly well done and the timing with current affairs just made it that much more powerful.
It's not the finale!?Also, totally thought that was the season finale. Too used to shows with 10 episode seasons. Three more episodes!
The only way I can see it being Fred is if he expected June to be caught with Nick, and Nick arrested, June returned. Now he'll have to out himself, or just pretend like she ran away.
Last season was only 10, so I thought this was the end, too. It would have been a very unsettling way to end the series for now. Also, totally thought that was the season finale. Too used to shows with 10 episode seasons. Three more episodes!

Canada, oh, glorious Canada.Where exactly is all of this misery leading? I really want to stop watching.
Nick has to be in the running for dumbest characters of all time. He can't even feign the slightest interest in his child bride to keep her happy? He's constantly lovingly looking at June right in front of her? How fucking stupid is he?
Nick being kinda incompetent is part of his storyline. He got fired a ton pre Gilead.
I assumed he spied for his former boss. Which...didn't involve much spycraft. But at the same time he's shown as being a pretty savvy spy which is sort of incongruent with his domestic scenes, no?
Fucking hell, shows need a 'maybe don't watch this if you have kids' warning at the start.
Yeah this episode had my mom in tears, which I don't think has happened with any series she has ever watchedMy wife and I took a break after the "Last Ceremony", watched something else and came back to it and then they pull that shit with Hannah. We were both sobbing idiots by the time Nick made a bid for dumbest move on the show. Being a parent messes with you, man.
Yeah, but it was super generic and lets be honest it could have been for the less than standard rape that occurred or the Hanna part. The episode actually had a warning on it. On the tests below hulu.
She's an incredible actress. I don't think you can really appreciate the depth of her portrayal of Peggy until you've seen her play June.I'm rewatching Mad Men and this show. So seeing Elizabeth Moss go from Offred to Peggy is just....mindbreaking. She was so pure. It also doesn't help that I love west wing.
So we're pretty sure that Nick got taken out by some guys conspiring with the asshole who kissed his child bride, right?
Because we never saw his reaction to them getting caught and he probably freaked the fuck out and decided he had to get Nick before Nick got him. And he doesn't know Nick is an eye, he would only think he's a driver.
Yeah, if that dude knew Nick was an Eye he wouldn't have messed with him. That's the first thing I thought of, and I had forgotten that it's not public knowledge he is an eye.
I've seen Sense8, but this trailer is reminding me of one the character's backstories. June looks like she's on the verge of giving birth to her child in the cold wilderness.
I followed this too until her help in the unsanctioned rape of June. And I think on some level, even Serena Joy knows that the laws of Gilead are morally corrupt and shallow at best.

Watch Top of the Lake for more great work of hers. I'm still waiting for Season 3.I'm rewatching Mad Men and this show. So seeing Elizabeth Moss go from Offred to Peggy is just....mindbreaking. She was so pure. It also doesn't help that I love west wing.

Yep, Top of the Lake is so fucking good. Make sure to watch the BBC version, if you can. (It's 6 episodes instead of 8)Watch Top of the Lake for more great work of hers. I'm still waiting for Season 3.
Jesus. What the hell are you doing watching any episode of this show in a bloody coffee shop.OK, I'm in a coffee shop, watching this episode, and I'm just about ready to burst into tears.
OMFG, I'm shredded.
Jesus. What the hell are you doing watching any episode of this shop in a bloody coffee shop.
No no. I can understand that.It was a bad idea in hindsight... I'm travelling and couldn't wait.
That's good. You don't want to cause a mass depression.
OK...finished. Jesus.
The Hannah scene was unbearable.
The rape scene...the Waterfords are monsters, no ifs, buts or otherwise.
Having two scenes like this in one episode.... farrrrrrk....
I see now what the writers were doing in previous episodes. It wasn't a redemption arc for Serena or anything. It was making sure we knew that she's human, that she knew what she's doing is wrong, that she had her chance to exit, and turned her back on all of that. It was closing off any redemption. She's a developed character now, but not a redeemed one.
Oh my God, Hannah. It would have been almost more bearable if she hadn't realised this was 'mommy' and let her guard down.
And now what for June? This ending can't go anywhere, surely. As soon as they started driving to the manor, I was thinking...ok, why don't they just drive now to the border? Of course there's many reasons why that would be very risky... but obviously Nick started thinking about escape after the meeting with Hannah.
But Waterford knows where she is. He'll send more guardians to get her...she's in no state to make an escape attempt alone... that can't lead anywhere, right?
My speculative guess is that June suffers through a birth alone, and the baby doesn't survive
