No? I'm sorry, please point out my history of anti-black racism. Go ahead. That post was beyond flagrant.
Dude you're in here arguing for a positive outlook on Krauthammer, imagine how a black person would feel to be reading your posts

I said a bunch of other stuff too if you want to quote that

I think the site needs to take a stand on it. There is a double standard that is occurring.
You know how to get in touch with the staff, they are pretty damn open to feedback and requests. You shouldn't derail the thread with making it about moderation practices though ibstead of just how we discuss harmful people after they've passed on

So instead of engaging with the point being made you decide to have a crack at someone for posting in the thread about the white dude instead of the black dude, to somehow imply racism.

You ain't slick.

But hey, who cares about black people suffering, gay people suffering, women? They are just class b humans, right?

Im gonna need a quote that he was pro black, gay women suffering?[/QUOTE]

you want a tweet with that explicitly said? Difficult, this people don't act directly, their hateful rhetoric is camouflaged in pretty words so they can argue it's just "political opinion". Read between lines, it's not that hard.

Good people trying to improve humanity die every fucking day due to cancer. The most I can say is I feel sorry for his family and I hope they are better people than he was.

I dont know what that means. Are you suggesting that all people are assumed racist and must prove they are not racist?

I would not begrudge any minority for assuming that. Plus, I think in America if you're white you kind of have a duty to speak out or else it's just wasting your privilege and soapbox that being part of the majority and being the benefactor of systemic racism gives you. If someone can't even do that I think it would at least be safe to be questionable if they are racist but when you have to live that every day I'm sure assuming it becomes a default reaction at the very least as a sanity/self preservation method

No. I'm talking about how conservatives with education and intellect don't go saying explicitly "i want this minority to suffer, i hate them". Instead, they promote lines of thought that are pseudo-scientific to pollute others into hate against this groups, be it religion, genetics or whatever tool they can use. They promote hate indirectly so they can't easily be called out for it, and so if anyone engages with them they can cry that it's just a "different political view" ignoring that the shit they spill is toxic and damaging to these groups.

Like someone else said in another thread, this whole site was built for inclusiveness and to create a space where bigotry and hateful opinions have no place.

To then demand that people have to be respectful to bigoted trash like this makes no sense to me. Yeah cancer is shit. But so was this dude. And where do we draw the line? Does everybody deserve the same amount of begrudged silence? How about Roger Ailes? Murdoch? Trump? How bad is too bad?

This constant tone policing of the left has long past the point of being funny. These fuckers kidnap children, kill and enslave minorities, destroy the only home we all have for profit and ya'll worried about some mean fucking words?

I cant respond to vague conspiracy theories. If its so prevalent you must have specifics.

Dude represented the worst of "intellectual" America in the same way that Trump represents the worst of anti-intellectual America. Advocated torture, advocated disastrous wars that killed tens of thousands of people for no goddamn reason, popularized racism for political gain. He was the acceptable, genteel face of jingoism and bigotry. I'm not gonna say I'm glad he's dead, but I certainly don't think the world is worse off for him being so.

Ok, you're just trolling at this point. People already linked to several of these things in this thread... Or do you need each and every single member who mentions anything to cite the exact same links over and over and over again so you get to dismiss them and move the goalposts?

I lost all intellectual respect for him with this "You didn't build that" column from 2012.

https://www.nationalreview.com/2012/07/did-state-make-you-great-charles-krauthammer/

If you've got a business — you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen."

— Barack Obama, Roanoke, Va., July 13

And who might that somebody else be? Government, says Obama. It built the roads you drive on. It provided the teacher who inspired you. It "created the Internet." It represents the embodiment of "we're in this together" social solidarity that, in Obama's view, is the essential origin of individual and national achievement.

This whole thing is a gigantic straw man. The "that" in Obama's quote didn't refer to businesses. I get that this was a decent political attack line, and it was convenient for conservatives to pretend they didn't understand what Obama was saying. But I can't respect someone as an intellectual once they pull a stunt like this.

Bunglekutt, you're actually making this thread worse for the people who may want to give this guy a break and let him rest in peace.

I didn't know anything about him before reading this thread, but in doing so I learned that he said children of crack-addicted black mothers were subhumans with no potential who were better off dead. So there you go.

Does that make you feel better?

I disagree with him on virtually everything, but I also have no qualms saying that his perseverance through his many hardships is pretty inspirational.

You didnt quote them so their sense of internet validation through concern trolling wasn't stroked the right way

I'm usually all for not changing the way you think about someone after they die. They made their bed.

But after reading some of the comments, I think if you have nothing nice to say don't say nothing at all.

I am not trying to call you out specifically but I wish statements like this were qualified in any sort of manner. After running in circles with a troll this just sounds like "don't be mean to the dead racist, even if you cite your sources" to me. Apologies if that wasn't your intent but there is just nothing I could logically gather from your post because it was so non specific. I won't even hold it against you, I just don't get it after the last couple of pages.

I lost my dad to cancer, suffered depression through high school as a result, and am going to spend quite a portion of my life in fear that I too will one day get it. So while I say yes, "fuck cancer," those words often feel pretty empty to me for some reason.

What I can say though is that when assholes like him die from this disease that is everywhere 20 years later than my dad did, and when others even worse inside Fox News or DC pass away, I'm not going to criticize anyone for not wanting to say "oh bless his heart."

Sorry for his family .

A sad loss. My sympathies and thoughts are with his family and loved ones.

I actually enjoyed reading his columns, read it for years.

Rest in peace, Charles. My respects.

RIP to Charles Krauthammer and the people whose murder he tried to legitimize. Here's hoping he suffered less than the people tortured with the methods he advocated for.
