Really wanted to hear the convo with Carmelo laughing, callin in like "IM STAYING LMAO! $28 million, Imma need that up front cuz"

37 Players took 15+ shot a game last year, Carmelo Anthony ranked:
37th in PPG
37th in TS%
35th in eFG%

but they paying him 28 million a year

Melo stealing all the cap space and scaring PG away at the same time. What an awful trade that was.

Not that he wasnt always gonna opt in. But still a shitty situation for OKC.

Do you guys think the 76ers only made the Mikal because of the Miami pick? Try to turn that into Kawhi?

I've seen that thrown around a lot lately.

I think it was probably just too good of an offer for Philly to turn down, but Zhaire Smith + that 2021 unprotected is also more valuable as a trade chip than just Mikal Bridges if they wanted to go after Kawhi

More Lies coming from Westbrook's agent. PG ain't staying in OKC. His mind was made. Being torn whether to stay and spinning this as a family decision is diversion to deflect the heat from him. We all do it.

I want to believe this but I'm scared that him and Westbrook became good friends and he'll ride it out on a 45 win team for eternity.

If PG stays in OKC, than we know he isnt built to be a Laker. And that just makes our Lakers' salary that much more flexible to resign Randle, sign Lebron and Kawhi.

True I'd rather stay on a 4 seed with no hopes of improving in Oklahoma over a team that has the interest of multiple superstars in Los Angeles.
If star players come it's a different story. Although leaving to form a superteam doesn't seem very Kobe-ish or Magic-ish, so what exactly does it take for someone to be 'built like a Laker'?

Lakers figured he'd come in free agency. OKC took a bet and traded for him. If Paul George doesn't come blame your organization for not trading for him. If he does come congrats, you gained him for nothing. But don't blame PG or somehow downplay him as a player if he chooses to stay in OKC (wtf does not being built for a laker even mean?). Maybe he likes the city, team, fans, or even the players he's playing with if he decides to stay. Who knows.

I don't know why people are taking that Amick story as fact. Tomorrow we're just going to get a story saying the opposite, which is exactly what happened here.

Lakers got rid of D'angelo for this dude. Lakers look terrible if they aren't able to land PG.
They didn't do it specifically to sign PG.

What loser stays on the 4 seed? The ten seed is where winners go.
OKC made the playoffs by two games with no real room for improvement and lost in the first round. I could see him staying there if he wants to play with Westbrook, but that team isn't going anywhere.

I doubt PG stays but he might since it seems he likes Westbrook and they honestly probably could have beaten the Jazz if Melo wasn't sucking 30 minutes a game. God, that performance from Melo had to be one of the most embarrassing I've seen from an experienced player.

So if I said PG was a total idiot for joining the Lakers core (assuming no other stars go) instead of say; the Sixers core, Celtics core, Jazz core, etc. all young players, all much more ready to compete than the Lakers as currently constructed. You'd agree?

I never said PG would be an idiot if he stayed in OKC. There are obviously other factors involved like money and his relationships with the people there.

I think OKC is capped out on what they can do with little to no young prospects on the roster and other teams around the league have more potential for success. I think the same is true for the Pelicans as well, though Davis obviously isn't even in his prime yet.

Melo still the second best small forward in the league. Just need time for his teammates to rise to his level of Skill/BBIQ

Lol, the entitlement from Lakers fans. He isn't coming to our team so he isn't 'built like a Laker'

Listen, that's what the Lakers are looking. Dudes that want to come and play for the Purple and Gold. Like Kobe said, it takes someone special to play in LA, and PG could be one of them. He demanded a trade here last season, and now he finally has that opportunity. Staying in OKC, now that Melo opted-in, is a tragedy. The team is cash strapped, and still ain't beating Houston and GS. While he could form a dynasty with Lebron and potentially Kawhi out here in LA, and memorialize himself in the record books.

I don't have a horse in this but I think Paul George is staying in OKC. The Thunder were a different team with Andre Robertson in the lineup. He probably believes that running it back will provide different results.

For the Lakers fans out there. Will bringing in Lebron and whoever else make them better than the Warriors? Lebron mentally is shook by KD and Curry.
