I decided to play 1 game tonight and I was double pumped within the first minute. For fuck sake. I just gotta quit this game until the meta changes.
The STW login rewards are based on your own personal logins. So you're getting a 300 vbuck reward but I might get squat since my login progress is different than yours. Unless I am missing some 1 day only promo... am I?
I don't think they do random vbuck giveaways. They do semi-randomly give away llamas though. I think he just hit his day XXX login reward and assumed everyone was on the same reward schedule.

I am sure there is a list online that shows you all the login rewards. I remember in alpha you used to be able to preview them. They're predetermined for years.
I've started to dread playing since I started grinding for 80, but having someone else to grind with you makes it so much more enjoyable.

Yeah the grind is torture. I'm not going to complain about it this season (aside from right now..) but I certainly hope they learn from this.
Hands down the worst grind I've ever done. It's sucking any bit of fun from the game. People are going to be going nuts in a week or so when they realize they'll get close but never make it.

We should start a friends group so we can get the XP bonuses from that over the next couple weeks. I dont talk on a mic or anything and I suck but I want the XP. So if anyone else wants to friend and team up just to grind XP let me know.

Never trust anyone who've been banned unless it has been validated with another source. People are not going to straightout say they were in the wrong nowadays.
So I'm giving Fortnite a true chance. I'll probably purchase the Battle Pass once Season 4 is over. Started playing on Xbox but I'm connected to PC as well. I use the Elite controller with 2 paddles and that makes building a bit easier. On PC they are default mapped to the F1 - F4 keys, which seems like it could be a hassle in time of need. Any recommendations on what keys to remap building to? Also using a G900 mouse if that helps.
On console make sure your control scheme is set to builder pro.
You absolutely need to rebind them to something that you can easily press in a fight. You want to be able to spring forward and be able to quickly build ramps and walls. Floors are also incredibly important.
I'd recommend watching streamers to get an idea as to the general building strategy in the middle of a fight.
Oh I know the strategy. It's what frustrates me about the game and why I've been on PUBG up to this point. Throw up ramps to get height, build 4 sides walls with a floor, throw up another ramp, keep going up etc etc. It's honestly what turned me off on the game, but like I said, I'm trying to give it a fair shot.
If anybody has some key binds that work better than F1-F4 for building, I'd love to hear them.
Yeah... the current building meta has also gotten incredibly boring for me as well. But I got 1800+ games out of it (and 681 solo wins), so I guess I can't complain. It's a fun game to win, and there's a lot of different ways to outplay people and win. But right now the blistering speed at which people build and then shotgun you is turning me off. I think now is the worst time to try and get into Fortnite as it's not friendly to new players at all.
I have my ramps on my side mouse button (thumb), walls on Q, and Floors on E. I switched the "interact" button to F, which should be comfortable if you come from PUBG. Editing is also extremely important so make sure that's in an easy to reach spot. I have no idea how people stick with the default "G." I have mine on X.
Insane that another patch is coming for STW andf still no mention of fixing the fact that a bunch of people cant even pick a primary hero. My wife always gets stuck with some random level 1 person so the game is unplayable for her now. Sucks so much that they wont fix this shit.

Down to two people. Ambushed this guy from on top of a mountain, but he had some crazy set up with tons of traps. I had a lot of ammo and was wailing into him. He had no cover at one point so I inched closer, only to slide down the mountain, land in a trap, and instantly die giving him the victory.

I use back mouse button for walls and forward for ramp and f for floors. Those 3 are all you need. Go to prosettings.net and look at what the pros are binding. Also, watch their streams and see how they build. None of the good players sit in a 1x1 and wait for their opponets to come to them.
They really need some kind of ranked matchmaking, or a For Fun/Glory mode. Currently, it's like going down the park once a week for a kickaround with your mates, only for a bunch of pro players who live and breathe the game to stomp in and take over.
So is there absolutely no way to get all of my progress from PS4 over to Switch/Xbox One? Should I start purchasing all my things on my Xbox One/Switch account and just give up hope of my account ever being able to be transferred? Just to clarify is there no way to disconnect PS from my Epic Games account and attach Xbox One/Switch? Even if I just want to permanently move my account over just one time?
Nope all your progress and skins are stuck on ps4 and I don't think Sony will change it anytime soon based on their response.
I would just start buying stuff on Switch/Xbox if I were you.
It's weird. In a game that could be super fun and casual, people play it like every game is a tournament match and they have to try super hard to win. This is seriously one of the most competitive games I've ever played. You'd THINK people would try having more fun with some of the other weapons. Problem is, it's the biggest game in the world and a chance for everyone to break into streaming, so everyone goes super sweaty try-hard in order to get good enough.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but my son was bugging me today about getting the STW pack and I was wondering if it would be a bad time to get it. I don't really know anything about this game but I was wondering if it was going to go free soon or if it goes on sale often. Is there any reason I should hold off?
Also I'm guessing that if I get it with my account we will be able to play it together, but he won't get the extras; is that right too?

Like I get wanting to have a playing field with all sorts of skill levels. But when me a person that's pretty good and plays a hour a day most likely runs up against a dude dedicating his life to the game I can't help but feel like it's bullshit. I can't imagine people who barely play this game how they feel.
I'll shoot some one and will you looks at that they build Fort Knox in a matter of seconds and are now extended it in gulf my base. O look he dropped down and I died in .2 seconds. Really this happens way more then it should....
You'd think it'd be easier to stand out from the rest of the streaming crowd if you didn't play like everyone else...
Me and my friends, basically. Trying to get people into the game, squadding about away from everyone else, then some tight-knit team in identical get-ups stream through with shotguns and wipe us out before we even know what's going on. Inevitably with an obvious streamer user names.

Is FortFriend still the best solution for tracking challenges beyond marking up the weekly cheat sheets from reddit? Not being able to check off individual nodes for "interact with X things" challenges makes it not entirely useful.
Had to pop in to see what Fate looks like... fuckers got me. It looks great with a cape, too. ADN I get an 8 kill win on my first try... so yay?
I think it looks pretty nice in-game. I like it. Good thing for me it was the last of my VBucks. It will take something pretty freakin amazing to make me spend money for more.
Also, holy shit is the minigun strong. I had to try it after watching Hamlinz last night in the Fortnite Friday tournament... god damn. It's like the best anti-builder gun in the game under the right circumstances. People just panic build to fight back but they can't build fast enough, meanwhile you're dealing tons of damage to them.

Thought the Omega Head was 65, but was only lvl 55, which was all I wanted, so pretty much done now. Though I might as well get to 65 (I'm currently 62) and call it for the season, still not sure if I want to buy next season yet, bit burnt out at the moment, but will see what the starter skin is like.
There really needs to be one more eye of the storm before the end game in 20v20

I use pistols and SMG over shotguns at close/medium range and I do alright though.
It's really mind blowing that you're forced to double shotgun to be even remotely competitive and Epic has let it go on for this long.
Edit: If they nerf anything with building it needs to be the spam wall bullshit. There's no reason you should ever be able to outbuild sustained fire by just holding one button down. It's beyond stupid.
