Seriously I can't get over 40% unemployment but like maybe 2 homeless people in the entire game and one small crowd in front of the cyberlife store.

That and apparently all of the unemployed people can afford a freakin' robo maid. The abusive dad in the beginning has a maid, food, and all the crack and hockey he could ask for. It makes no sense. It's close to what you would think a socialist utopia would be, minus his house looking old but that's probably because of the crack.

Chloe looks like Winona Ryder during that punch a nazi speech. Someone is dangling pizza in front of her and moving it around.

This march scene is ridiculously unearned to the point that the music makes it feel like a parody.

I wonder if Woolie considers that a successful implementation of his play style? It felt super limp and expected.

I love Hank and Connor though.

Whelp, from when Woolie ran out like a coward earlier, I knew this result would happen.

I had made the same decisions in the march and was spared because I took in the security guard, so the moment he fled I knew this would happen lol.

Definitely curious to see how the game proceeds.

oh my god, I died laughing at this

Simon can also sacrifice himself to save Markus, had they went into the kitchen and talked to the androids Simon lives and returns to Jericho

Their playthrough is going to be very interesting

That's hilarious. Two ways to save Markus and they fucked up both. RIP MLK-bot.

Really interested in what ending they get now.

While we'll miss more examples of how "It's not about race, you guys!", I'm not too broken up about Markus dying. His path has been the most boring, the character is rather dull and since Woolie was on the peaceful path, it's safe to assume the rest would have just been more of the Greatest Hits of the Civil Rights Movement. Less content, but not that big of a loss. And it could be interesting to see how much a character dying actually impacts the rest of the story, if at all.

That's completely fair. Markus became extremely boring after leaving the artist, and his speeches were amazingly trite. I think Kara is really bland but at least she isn't a poorly expressed caricature of a historical movement. Nothing much lost there.

The game isn't done yet but this game absolutely suffers from what Heavy Rain did on releaae where it is narrative shit but people shrug it away for some reason anyways.

Detroit is the first game in a while to make me feel like an outsider, how goddamn clueless do you have to be to consider it an example of good writing? Expand your horizons people.

The more I see of this LP the more flabbergasted I become.

I have no words to describe their fuck-ups lol

No matter what, folks can't deny this has been an entertaining LP

I know I'm late to the party, but I'm super into this pre-Tony Hawk soundtrack VS. has. Definitely better than the OST in Slap Happy Rhythm Busters.

Also I need to designate some time to watch the Detroit playthrough at its fullest.

Half the time I wonder if Detroit would be better if you have the option to turn those big obvious feelings markers off. Like, North became a Lover? HOW?

Like, North became a Lover? HOW?

when you talk to a girl, feelings go up

then she loves you. 100% of the time

Casual reminder of the greatest romance in Cage history, that army prick who your character still loved even when you chose every option to not show any feeling towards him.

wow that last episode of Detroit

pat is a COWARD

SHOOT THAT ANDROID PAT

It was 1000% in his wheelhouse to do so but you know he wants that sweet bromance to happen.

Woolie was so upset by North's unwarranted affection that he straight killed himself.

That was the true protest.

Same thing in my game.

I also felt it was appropriate that Marcus take the sacrifice route, but then John popped out of the crowd and took the bullets for him.

Also, in my mind, the results of this episode have assured that a future Detroit stream is a matter of when, not if.

As for the ending they will get in Detroit:

North takes over and goes violent as you would expect. Connor already knows where Jericho is after probing Simon so he will head straight there (maybe still needs to combine some evidence beforehand). If they reached high enough software instability which I think they did Connor can choose between becoming a deviant or staying a machine. The latter means that the humans automatically win cause CyberLife will send infinite new Connors until North is dead even if they kill him off a bunch. Hank can be spared or murdered in this branch.

If they reached enough software instability they can go deviant and join North. If Connor dies after that once CyberLife sends a new machine Connor and the former branch happens again. If they survive Connor infiltrates CyberLife while North fumbles the revolution and dies in the fight. Since they didn't find critical evidence as Connor earlier they either have to sacrifice Hank or save him but then guess a name correctly out of 4 possible answers with only one try. If they fail Connor dies and CyberLife wins. If they sacrifice Hank or guess correctly then Connor becomes the new leader of the revolution. However Amanda will retake control and they need to choose between obeying her or committing suicide to save the android army. However it is not actually shown if Connor goes through with shooting himself as it cuts to black before.

Either way due their fuck ups Connor won't have it easy and the best ending is probably gone. Kara is separate from this and can still survive with Alice and Luther, but needs to sacrifice someone at a critical moment. If they decide for no sacrifice everyone dies in their current branch with Markus dead

Todd is a crack dealer actually. Probably makes decent cash.

I've skimmed through the endings, is it even possible at this point to get on Hanks good side and survive the last encounter? Mind you guys, I haven't kept up with the last couple lp episodes.

Ah, I completely missed that and it makes sense. Besides Kara finding his stash is that covered in the LP? Or is there some way the game tells you?

Kamski's dumb experiment isn't as clever as he thinks it is. It was invalidated the moment Hank orders Conner not to shoot. Hank is the one that Conner is suppose to take orders from, not some asshole in a robe. So does Conner spare the android because he's deviant or following Hank's orders? We only know because Conner tells us explicitly, not because of the dumb test.

North going from Neutral to Lover in a single clunky conversation is the most David Cage moment of the game so far.

In the game itself he makes a few phone calls you can overhear as Kara where he talks about being able to "get what you need". Interestingly you can also find a rejected credit card application which implies he has several so he might be in deeper trouble at the start of the game unable to pay stuff on credit anymore either.

In the game's gallery there is a backstory for almost all of the NPCs which fills in a lot of the details. For Todd it says that he was a former taxi driver, but autonomous cars forced him out. Then he became a bouncer but androids kept replacing him explaining his anger at them and himself for owning one too out of sheer convenience. It also directly states that he deals with red ice (the new "in" drug) in his neighbourhood to afford things including his own addiction and occasionally does some shady jobs on the side.

That actually explains a lot, thanks.

You can really tell Cage was a fan of Ex Machina from the Kamski stuff. There's really no other particularly sound narrative or thematic reason for it. It's like the android equivalent of a Random JoJo Reference.
