I mean there is something really wrong when the only world champions that didn't win at home were Brazil and Spain

My predictions for tomorrow

Japan 1- 2 Senegal: Senegal just has the best team and it's the best African team by far. Also i hate Anime (but DGZ and One punch man)

Colombia 3 - 0 Poland: The Colombians is a better team and also my friend is Colombian so go Colombia, don't find any redeeming qualities in Poland to be honest, no even Lewandowski is playing good.

England 0 - 2 Panama: usually when a small team faces a futbol powerhouse i root for the underdogs. But not this time.

lol

I really feel that England are gonna have a weird result tomorrow.

Let's wait and see if he changes. CR was like that too when he started, somewhere during his MU run he started to focus more on playing and less on diving.

I highly doubt he'll change. Expect him to follow the footsteps of big name Brazilians and die away by the time he hits his thirties.

He had guys like Vidic, Ferdinand, Scholes and ofc Ferguson himself who all despise divers. And the fans who have booed Young even when his diving gave penalty kicks. Ronaldo learned to play on while at United. Ofc all that went away when he got to Madrid.

United despises divers?

Ruud Van Nistelrooy?

Rooney?

Ronaldo himself dived when he was at United.

The fans booed young cause he was playing awful at the time.

This reminds of France 2010 when the players revolted against the coach (and staff) and refused to attend a training session and then stopped listening to the coach. We were eliminated in the group stage and it took YEARS of work and PR for the french people to " forgive " the national team. The only thing that helped is that all those that were present during that revolt are retired now (except Lloris) or weren't called to play for the national team ever again. There's a reason why Evra is still hated in France to this day.

Maybe all this chaos will show people maybe just maaaaybe it isn't all Messi's fault. Oh who am I kidding, no it won't

Because he is one of the reasons Icardi doesn't get picked.

The Argentine FA always ask him for suggestions on coach and he asked for Sampoli.

Why do you think Tata Martino with no coaching expertise in Europe or even played in Europe got to be coach of Barcelona? Do you think that was by magic? It was because he coached Messi when he was young and a friend of his family. Just because Messi doesn't speak on the pitch doesn't mean he's mute off it. It makes him worse than Ronaldo in that respect. Atleast Ronaldo behaves likes a cunt and shows it to the world. Messi tries to hide it.

He used to berate David Villa and Alexis Sanchez. Ibra didn't have kind words for him in his book.

The Argentine FA won't fire him because if they do they need to pay him $14m. They are hoping he just walks.

I'm familiar with these news but they all look like sports gossip to me, never heard anything consistent or proof that he does that kind of thing. I actually heard that him and Neymar didn't like Martino because he used to bench them to rotate squad. lol

Messi is huge, the people want to hear anything about him, so I wouldn't be surprised if part of the press speculates and exaggerates his influence just to sell news. But I really don't have that impression from him. He doesn't boss anyone on the pitch, rarely pick fights with adversaries. To believe that this introvert guy would have the guts to be behind evil schemes in Argentina doesn't sound that believable to me. I think it's easier to use this status, as someone who Argentina really needs and would obey in fear of losing him to make up stories.

And Ibra doesn't have kind words to anyone. lol But Xavi, Guardiola, Maradona say good things about him.

The stories might be true in the end, but I take them with a grain of salt. I see Mascherano more likely to be behind any kind of mutiny, he is the true captain of the team in my books.

leaving in the middle of a tournament willingly will damage his rep further and be a financial loss for him, getting the sack will hurt his rep but not his wallet

Why everything that happens with Argentina, people blame Messi? lol I don't see him having any leadership in the pitch, I have a hard time seeing him rallying the others to create a mutiny. I could see him supporting the players who want to do that, but the dude seems too pragmatic and passive to start shit like that.
messi has a say in the coaches that come, Martino appointment was definitely his influence

It's interesting this portuguese v. spanish point, because from my personal experience I can tell you that a lot of people in Portugal root against Brazil.
I can tell you from my experience that's simply not true.

You might say Portuguese people don't care about Brazilian football in general, like your club competitions and players playing in Brazil, but I don't think a lot of people in Portugal are rooting against Brazil.

What you might see now, since Portugal won the Euros and has Cristiano, is a certain cockiness thinking Portugal can win the Cup and Brazil is a very credible candidate as well, so seeing Brazil underperform might be beneficial to Portugal.

In the grand scheme of things national football is still seen as a continental thing, so in Portugal the main rivals are Spain, England (because they're even more cocky when they've won nothing), France (because a lot of Portuguese emigrated to France and some French like to be a bit xenophobic), Germany (because Germany "runs" the EU, Portugal had austerity "because" of Germany).

Re the blaming and abuse directed at Durmaz - it's easy to forget that football attracts so many idiots.

Liverpool fans need to stop hating. Coutinho is a joy to watch. He's been the best brazilian player by far and he scored a banger already. Honestly just let it go. You made bank and your team is actually even better now that he's out.

And yeah it's sad that he's overshadowed by Neymar when he's arguably the best brazilian player. Maybe it will change after this World Cup and Coutinho will finally get his due.

Is there a lot of anger at Coutinho? The transfer saga was drawn out, but I never held any ill will toward him. Impossible to do so when a club like Barca starts chasing your player(s).

Brazil was never Germany Nemesis. The first time they met was in the 2002 finals and the second one was last World Cup.

Germany Nemesis was(or is) Italy. Until a last Euro, Germany never beat Italy in a oficial match

Nothing wrong suggesting or consulting players as long as they don't demand or have the final say which is what I doubt about it.

Besides, Martino's job with Paraguay was good. He reached quarter finals in 2010 World Cup. After that he was Argentine champions with Newell's. Hardly an weird decision to give the man a chance, he seemed promising enough and had a better record than Luis Enrique or Vilanova for example.

Why do you say about Mascherano, but not Messi?

Because Mascherano shouts on the pitch more? You do realise that a lot of the top players who shout on the pitch can also be quiet off it.

One of the reasons Pep left Barcelona was due to Messi getting too big for his boots.

Made up stories? You still didn't explain to me how Tata of all people became Barcelona manager? He also had bust ups with Enrique.

You probably believe all the stories about Ronaldo falling out with Jose or Rafa probably because he shouts on the pitch more. But for some reason have trouble believing Messi falls out with people too.

Icardi doesn't get picked btw because his girlfriend is the ex wife of a friend of Messi.

You probably think it's coincidence or made up all these stories. But when they backed by multiple sources then it's really hard to ignore them.

This bollocks about Messi being a quiet mouse needs to stop. The guy pushed a Croatia players leg the other day without a card. He stormed off the pitch without shaking another players hand. Imagine if Ronaldo had done that and he'd be getting called a sore loser.

Tata had never played or managed in Europe. Do you really think getting to the quarter finals of World Cup or winning the Argentine league qualifies him as Barcelona manager? It's like Real Madrid hiring whoever has won the Brazilian league.

Tito and Enrique were around Barcelona. They either coached or played for the club. It was a totally left field appointment.

Tito won the league despite having cancer by ease. Whilst Martino lost it to Athletico. Whilst Enrique won the treble.

The only reason Tata was appointed to make Messi happy. For some reason you have a struggle believing that.

Honestly, if all these players actually retire. It'll be the best thing that could happen to the NT. They can finally start fresh, with new ideas. They won't have to build formations around Messi, Mascherano, Aguero.

Yeah, it seems like you have a personal grudge against Messi. I didn't even bring Crisitano into discussion.

And like I explained above, Martino was a fair choice. He had international experience in the most important stage. Barcelona and Argentina had managers with less experience than him.

The Icardi situation is something that most players on the Argentina squad supposedly condemns him. Not only a Messi thing. France also had a problem with Benzema because of the Valbuena incident. Sometimes the coach doesn't want to ruin the dressing room and they are smart to do that. Icardi shouldn't have had the affair in the first place. It's not worthy to lose the whole team because of one player. Blame all the Argentina players, not only Messi for that. Pretty sure conflicts like that happens in many clubs and national teams but this is the one that gets notice because it involves Icardi.

And all those multiple sources only have indirect quotes, "it was reported that", "it is said that..." no one ever has a leak of any conversation or audio that shows how Messi runs the show. By the way, the Brazilian press also speculated that Cristiano Ronaldo was difficulting his renovation with Real Madrid because he doesn't want Neymar there, and he is supposedly insatisified with Real Madrid pursuing him. I don't buy that kind of gossip, but it seems you would if it was Messi in Ronaldo's place.

To be short, I'm skeptical with every sports gossip, not only Messi related.

1. Yes, you don't need European experience to manage Barcelona.
2. Real Madrid hired Vanderlei Luxemburgo and he had only titles in Brazilian League.

You also forgetting the reason why Luxembargo was brought in. To appease Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos. Yet you have struggle believing the same isn't with Messi. Messi doesn't have any say in managers according to you. He just sits there quiet as a mouse...

Tata was brought in because he took Paraguay to the quarter finals of the World Cup. Yeah right...

Mexico has horrible finishing. Their counters mean shit if Chicharito fucks them all up. At best I think they tie. But Sweden will probably score a couple on that horrible defense

Yup.
He just wanted the camera s on him.to show he overcome a lot of pressure or something like that.
He needs to go.
Not really, although his diving and fake theatrics (I believe that he really had an emotional outburst tho) get tiring, he still has tons of talent in the position that he plays that no other brazilians has.

Good thing we have also Vela and Lozano. They can bring it home while chicharito trips with the ball, his own legs and thin air. He might also score with the ass while doing that anyway.

Luxemburgo isn't buddy buddy with Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos. wtf He was sacked by CBF with less than two years with the Brazilian national team. None of them had said anything. Luxemburgo was considered a very promising manager and the best manager in Brazilian history, that's why Real Madrid hired him. It's not like South American managers never had work in Europe before.

Messi can have a say, I only said that I don't think he demands or imposes anything. It's fair if the club wants to hire a coach that would have a better chemistry with his players. Nothing wrong with that.

I disagree with you and how the press makes it sounds like Messi is bossing everyone around. Having an opinion or a favorite name is something EVERY player has. If the president wants to make him happy, it's not Messi's problem it's the president's problem.

What i learned today is Germany play better with 10 men.

Also that my money on Germany is fucked
What?
I'm german and I think the first game was horrible but we won the match against Sweden after they scored the first goal. That was the worst situation possible.
We will win the game against Korea and then...Brazil or Swiss. THIS is going to be interesting.

How funny would it be if Mexico didn't even make it out because they allowed Heung Min Son to score that nice goal? That and they blew a bunch of counters to get more goals.
