Sure which may work fine and dandy in Japan which has all of one time zone. The us has 6 time zones and euroland has a whopping 11.
I feel like they're useful because they're loading the game, unlike this which serves literally no purpose.

Huh, so you've experienced longer load times. You do realise load times are necessary right? They are loading the game. It is understandable if it takes a bit because stuff is happening in the background. The loading for Splatoon takes place before that, on the screen with the pink and green and the squids. The "Off the Hook" bit is just to tell you the maps/there is a splatfest, which are either also told to you in game when picking a mode or could be done MUCH faster. It's just a massive waste of time that serves no purpose and just adds up over time. It's completely pointless and the fastest you can skip it still takes waaaaaaaaaaaaay too long.
If u value ur time so much that it requires such a response maybe u shouldn't be wasting ur precious time on video games. I swear the hyperbole entitlement in some gamers are crazy. It's 30 seconds. Get over it. Or find a new hobby like games don't regular have things that wastes a players time. Lmao
Actually, Splatoon being developed by the Animal Crossing team is actually good news for OP; they've neutered so much of the charm of the series to please the misplaced desires of fans for greater user experience and to expedite gameplay (see changes to Blathers, furniture movement, mortgages, even fossil identification from the original to Wild World)

It's obvious where it's loading. Launch Splatoon 2 offline (airplane mode, off Wifi, whatever) and it loads straight into the plaza when you get past the pink/green/squid screen. Like, that isn't some shocking insider news or unverifiable thing. And yeah, 30 seconds ontop of loading is too long, it doesn't need to be there at all. Would you like an extra 30 seconds (or more depending on the day) on the top of every game you launch, every time you launch it?
But I was precisely calling the OP out of his/her overreaction. Yes it's an annoyance an there's plenty of people that complain about it, but making a thread about quitting the game for 30. Seconds? Really?
I mean it's 30. seconds. that's why it's an overreaction, how many times you launch the game a day? Usually two or less, because you only quit Splatoon to play some game and come back to it. It's a minor gripe, which is why I find it silly to make a thread to complain about quitting a game for it.
