I cannot sanction an automatic CGI penalty because that would mean the FF7 remake reveal wasn't a 10/10, which is factually untrue. CGI can work, just depends on the game/situation.

Prediction: Jones uploads a video showing off the features of a potential new studio.

The entire video is him building a representation of the studio out of LEGO.

Oddly enough I'm more ok with CG trailers for remakes because I already know what the game is going to play like.

I want to be clear that I dont hate CG trailers by default, I just think that in this day and age leading off with a CG trailer is a bad look. One of my favorite trailers of all time is CG:

That trailer barely has anything to do with the game except as a tone piece and it's incredible.

Never seen that before, damn that's great. A little cliché, but great.

I'm surprised they didn't know about the Ridley is too big joke.

But I guess it's contained more to the smash community

Yeah, I agree. I didn't expect Jones to know about that, but I thought at least Ben would.
yeah. Without that knowledge, that moment falls flat I would assume for them.

As well as 2 seconds later on pokemon statdium when he looks huge.

I know much about metroid, so i don't have an opinion on the hat spinning moment. I did like it though.

My only complaints would be ZSS coming back. Seemed uneeded for it to be Ridley's trailer.

I also don't really get his Final Smash. since everyone gets hit on Samus's ship?
but again I don't play metroid.

Did Jones ever do that VR games video he said he would do?. He said he'd do a vid around VR games that he played at Judges Week.

Did he cancel it?

The Witcher 3 had some of the best trailers of all time imo. Killing monsters is an absolute masterpiece and I actually think I may like the launch trailer even more. Despite being CG it shows a number of the games systems (potions, bombs, contracts, and prepping for a specific monster type before the fight) in a really cool way.

The twist at the end with the song is a thing of beauty.

Holy crap, I am so glad they switched to having the conference/direct play in a smaller window.

they did some weeeeeird things on the last days of GT... for example, on the last E3 (the shenmue/FF7R/TLG) they decided to not have the conference audio for some reason, only them talking, absolutely terrible decision

Huh? The GT reactions for FF7 and Shenmue have conference audio. It is pretty low though

I 100% agree with Huber on the BGE2 complaint. It is 100% a "short film" and not a trailer,

I mean, it's factually a trailer. It's just not the kind you want apparently. It's absolutely representative of a portion of the game as well: the story.

I understand if you don't personally like them. But if you're going to judge them, I think you need to judge them for what they are. Because there's a bit of bias there otherwise.

That's a good point..

Wait, really? I wonder if they were forced to for some reason.

Jones kept saying that year that they wanted to be more of a commentary track, and Elyse kept posting a link that would automatically sync the conference stream and the GT stream

A couple of those 2015 conference reactions vids were a pain to sync as they would keep on messing up for some reason (aside from the normal issues you have face with buffering and what not). I had to manually splice out small bits of the audio of the conferences at some intervals to keep them synced rather than just sync once and call it a day.

Thanks for all the hard work. Can't wait to get home and watch the latest one.

Another great edit. Surpringly the Bethesda press conference is better cut down without all the awkward pauses and pandering

I dont see how it's any different than Kyle docking half a point for having pre-order now at the end of a trailer. They are judging the trailers based on what they like from trailers. Everything is fair game imo, plus: it's all a bit of a joke isnt it?

Guys. I'm addicted to refreshing their patreon page and watching the numbers go up

Me too. Thanks for reminding me to check again lol.

I'd love to see the web traffic spike that happened from all us fools constantly refreshing it the past month or two. I used to be fine checking it through graphetron a couple times a week. Now I'm hitting the page all the time

They've gotta get a 52 or 53k goal up QUICK. We need to make sure it stays at a point where 50k will be maintained.

If you enjoy watching numbers go up, I've had fun checking out their Youtube numbers on Social Blade. Before June this year, they usually got a little over a 100ish new youtube subs a day and their views were around 40kish per day. During E3 this year (6/9/6/15) per day they averaged over 290k views and 814 new subs. The great news is that since E3 has ended, these numbers haven't regressed anywhere near the past "norms" and they blew away last years E3 by a mile. They have some outstanding momentum going on that side of things which only can help down the road with Patreon/Twitch and whatever else.

No idea, but according to MarketWatch.com, $5,000 a month gets you a ~2,000 sq/ft office space in LA. I wouldn't think they would need that much space, but I have no idea, honestly.

I think they want: a podcast room, streaming room, bathroom and probably a kitchenette and work bay. That's easily 2000 sq/ft. You could do it all in much less space but with the potential for 9+ people to be in the studio at once I think they would appreciate the breathing room. I've never worked in a studio so I'm mostly talking out my ass here combined with tidbits of info Jones has dropped on cup of Jones over the past few months.

Outside of probably group stream nights, there probably won't be 9 people in there at one time.

At the end of the day, most of them are part time.

This is not a 9-5 for all of them.

Most will probably still stream from home or do whatever work they have to do, at home.
