This has prob been mentioned but does anyone else hate talking to Vamos? It's almost like there's a problem parsing his audio files that make them sound like they're on a shit speaker.

My girlfriend has shown some interest in Dark Souls after seeing me on the third game. When she plays Skyrim she goes around smacking enemies with a big fire-infused hammer and has said she'd want to do the same in Dark Souls.

Now, I'm normally a fast-rolling rapier poking player, so I have no idea where to start in helping her have a rough path to follow for the game. Any advice on best starting class and what weapon(s) to build towards? I'm presuming either Warrior or Knight, and grabbing a Pyromancy Flame from somewhere for preliminary Fireball chucking.

Weapon wise, you can get a giant ass club of your choice from Blighttown by either farming from the dung ogres (for the large club) or finding it as loot (for the giant club). Both can be infused with fire and can be used early on do to having lower STR requirements compared to a lot of large ass weapons. You can stick with the clubs the whole game because they will absolutely murder.

Good classes that can build towards that are either Warrior or Bandit, I'd say.

He met Frampt , Frampt mistaken him with the player and told him about the lords or the lordvessel, He went to the only possible path which was New Londo, an impossible feat for him and turned Hollow since he lost hope quickly
Like Orochinagis said, Crestfallen, like all the other NPCs who are in the same quest as you, eventually either go insane (Logan, Solaire), just plain die for good before you ever meet them (Tarkus, Beatrix) or go Hollow, presumably after dying over and over (Crestfallen, Siegmayer, Laurentius). Laurentius seems very confident in his skills, and he is elated that he has a chance to meet Quelana when you tell him about her, but it's for naught as he goes hollow in Blighttown. So it's no surprise to see a jaded bastard like Crestfallen go hollow after presumably getting murdered by ghosts he couldn't even hit.Hell, if you kill him before he goes Hollow he actually thanks you, hah.
Yeah I figured as much. It's just that it happens so suddenly and without explanation. With Laurentius you're able to deduce he couldn't see Quelana because his flame was only +8, thus causing him to go hollow when he gave up. But Crestfallen Warrior misses that. He leaves and suddenly he is there, hollowed. Felt like I missed a conversion or something.

Yeah his voice is kind of grating. He sounds like a walking and talking deep fried meme.

Lauren also arrived after you cleared blightown and Quelana was pretty well hidden for him since he doesnt try to enter Quelag lair

Crestfallen mentions the strange sounds and just move in one single dialogue.

"Did you ring the second bell?
That is incredible, I must say… But now we have a new problem.
It's noisy, it snores, and its breath is lethal…
This is no laughing matter, I tell you.
Damn, that stench… And I was really beginning to like it here!
Sigh…
Maybe it's time I do something about it…

Just finished sens fortress and I'm level 46. This is my first time playing souls. I've beaten bloodborne but feel like I'm playing this wrong still. I've pumped most my points into vitality, strength and endurance. I'm using the zweilander +5 but seem to move and attack slow when fighting the the smaller gargoyles in the next area. Would it be best to not use any shields and put lighter armor on? I just read on where to get a ring to increase my weight load so I might go back and get it.

I play with light armor and boost endurance. Just roll away or around enemies. Two hand your weapon.

However the Z is super slow. I might try another weapon if that bothers you. Maybe the Claymore - still a big sword but faster. that's my go-to

You have to take in mind endurance for more weight capacity for your weapons and armor , if you are using heavy armor you will perfom a fat roll so you have to invest more on endurance to bring a balance on your equipment weight or just certain rings to lower that stat.

That ring will definately help. So will light armour. You have to be below 25% equipment load to move/roll at the fastest speed. You're making a choice between evasion as defense, or armour/shields as defense.

If you're going back for Havel, I'd also suggest stopping off at Andre and pumping that Zweihander up to +10. You should have enough large shards after Sen's, but if not the merchant there sells them (if you haven't found the merchant, it's worth the trip to him as in the same place is a key for the cages in Sens - get you top to bottom in seconds, as will the drop chute.

Weapon upgradeing is far more important then leveling up imo.

Okay, bought this and am playing for the first time. I'm guessing I don't want to hit up New Londo Ruins first after arriving at the fire link shrine, right? Lol

anyone else enjoy just throwing down your sign outside O&S all evening? It's 25K souls (on NG) in about 5 minutes. More if they're on NG+ or beyond. Plus sunlight medals if you're a sunbro.

Just seen where a claymore is on the bridge in upper new burg. Gonna try it out before committing to the zweilander. Also finished Anor Lando last night what a pain those archers were a nightmare but being able to fast travel now is real nice. Is the Havel gear worth going back for? Also interested in the giant armor set.

Oh yeah, definitely. His armor set has one of the highest defense values in the game, and the ring he drops after you defeat him is one of the most OP accessories in the game

I prefer evasion to defense, so I always go light but if you're looking for high physical defense from armour Black Iron Set, Havels, Elite Knight, Stone all these are top of the line.

I wore Giant's Armor my original playthrough way back when. But over time you get way better at dodging and it's easier than taking hits and maybe getting un-poised.

I plan on wearing the black iron set after I get havels ring. It to heavy at the moment. The elite knight armor has been great so far.

Overall for my first souls game I'm really enjoying it besides a few areas. Blood borne is still my favorite PS4 game but the character builds and gear in dark souls is way better. I wish I woulda bought it on PS4 though as it's hard to get help sometimes in the Xbox one version.

I personally think the Black Iron set is the best overall heavy armor set in the game when fully upgraded.

On another note, I personally wish the infinite soul use glitch was still in the game though. It levels you out of PvP territory, but it's hilarious to be able to rock full Havel's, with Havel's greatshield, a heavy strength weapon, and fast rolling.

Oh wow, thanks. I didn't know you could even do this, but I may have to take you up on that. I'm working on boss soul weapons at the moment,
then probably clearing out all the NPCs for NG+.
No worries. You can drop weapons, armour and materials but I don't think you can drop spells and miracles. So you'll need to get those achievements.

If you use the final boss soul for the last miracle you need in ng+ I can drop you the weapons you need to save you from needing to finish ng+ and half of ng++.

Wouldn't mind them back though, in case I can do the same for anyone else. :)

Haha I would definitely give them back. By the last miracle in NG+, are you talking about the thing you get when you place the soul at the altar of sunlight?

And what's your GT? I'll put together a list of everything I'm lacking and try to find a time that works for you. Thanks again! Really cool of you.

Also, can anyone tell me if I can get the strongest crystal weapon, magic weapon, etc. achievements by simply holding them via this trade method? Or do I need to craft them?

the achievement pops when you pick them up. you can't drop spells.

keep in mind that matchmaking now revolves around the highest weapon you've ever held, whether you have it or not.

I accidentally made for a fun orc cosplay. Put on armored pig helmet, black leather armour and gloves and Havel's leggings.

Sorry no pic though.

Made a INT build but need a good quick weapon to buff so I'm not just using the Moonlight Greatsword. Does it matter what weapon I use or can I use anything since it'll scale with my INT once reinforced?

Four Kings really fucked with my depth perception. Kept thinking they were closer and my spells couldn't reach them. Got them eventually but that was a nuisance, especially that homing spell they use.

Messaged you back.

Couple of extra things. I don't have the max weapons, as I craft them then go to dash and quit the game so it doesn't save the final set of upgrades. Just in case I wanted to do something else. I can drop you one or two slabs though if you need them.

Ng+ to get the final miracle you need to be rank 10 in the sun bros and offer gwyns soul. Gets you one of the spear miracles.

I find this site a handy click able list with links to everything for the wiki. Use the "checklists" tab.

I've only just went and found the door to Blighttown from The Depths. All this time I had been entering through the Valley of Drakes.

Kind of embarassing.
