We already got 2 Resident Evil in there last time, and they both won. I'm kind of over it for now.

It's a hall for the greats, it's gotta get in soon!

Honestly, the entertainment for me is the stream. I don't care if Glover or Ocarina of Time gets in at the end of the day ha.

I think it would be extra hilarious if Huber had the audacity to bring RE2 to get a third Resident Evil through in the last 6 months, haha. But we will see..."near and dear" to Huber's heart...that feels like a wide net of games, haha.

I meant Jones said what Jones is brining is near and dear. No hints from Huber yet!

That would be a hell of a duel, but I bet more allies like 7 over 6, especially after the bonding experience that was the FF7 full playthrough at GT. Brandon would definitely have his work cut out for him.

...

6 would be the right choice between the two though.

Nah they both belong in there, imo. FF7 is one of the greats just by its sheer cultural impact. It was certainly a touchstone for me.

VERY excited for Hall of Greats tonight. Not a slight at anything else, but it's probably my favorite thing they make on a consistent basis.

I know they sometimes don't nominate the "obvious" game to get in to the HOG, but it's time they stop kicking the can down the road and end the madness and nominate/enshrine Yakuza 0 tonght.

Just play Majimas introduction and don't say a thing. Then every time a question is asked, just rewind it and play it again.

I mean this sincerely, Don needs to bring Trials to Hall of Greats. I think he could grab a few votes, especially from Jones. Playing through Trials Fusion this month on PS+, it holds up big time for a game made in 2014. And infinite replayability. No Mario Maker servers offline snafu to crater his attempt!

Man, I don't know if I could handle the Ian sandbagging. Also, here I was thinking this whole time it was already brought to HoG. Guess I was misremembering.

I honestly can't tell how much of his hatred for The Last of Us hate is real and how much is just a running bit from Man Ups. I might be remembering wrong, but I think he said one of the games he was most excited for from this E3 was Last of Us Part II.

He played it up for ManUps, but he did not like TLOU at all. And yet, he is excited for 2, mostly because he thinks Naughty Dog have been much better with Uncharted on PS4 and what they've shown so far.

I remember him saying that, yup!

Also, here's Ian being the most honest about TLOU

Ok, so I have a question as a scrub who didn't follow the guys at GT, but has since caught up on a lot of the content. Are Top 10s from them always like this? As in a discussion based show rather than a typical YouTube countdown with, for instance, a Jones voiceover?

It used to be always Jones voiceover, but I guess by the end they were experimenting with new formats to change things up and/or deal with their reduced staffing level. Not sure how the new top 10s are going to look yet I don't think, but I expect the voiceover route. Interviewing each of them one by one doesn't work when Tuesdays are already packed, whereas if each of them are assigned for writing/footage capture, they can do that in their own homes. Edit: thinking about it though, Top 10s are only once a month so they could schedule time for interviews if they want to play up the personal angle. I guess we'll see soon!

I'll always love that Top 10 for being the first video where I actually saw Kyle being Kyle via the LTTP, Bioshock, and Borderlands discussions.

Thanks! Yeah, I just assumed that the Top 10s would be fully produced and narrated videos. Not that I personally mind either way, but another discussion style show is probably not what we need from EZA right now!

I'm glad Jones on COJ had a little of a excited but "pump the brakes" tone. This whole 50k goal achieved might turn out to disappoint some people soon, it's good to be hopeful but still cautious about it.

Hubers feelings on the Switch kinda mirrors mine right now. I play in handheld occasionally but it's not a huge part of my lifestyle, I'm playing Hollow Knight right now but that, Celeste, and Wizard of Legend are really the only things I've touched on my Switch so far in 2018. And even Wizard of Legend I have some regrets about getting the Switch version because there's some slowdown when stuff gets hectic that isn't present on other platforms.

I was interested in Battlechasers Nightwar on Switch but it was like $8 on PS4 during E3 and still $50+ CAD on Switch so it bought it on PS4 instead. I was also interested in Moonlighter on Switch but it didn't come out there at launch. The stars are really just not aligning for me to play Switch much right now and it's a bit of a bummer.

That changes soon with Octopath though.

Just listened to Frame Trap and I basically agree with Huber. Yeah, there's a ton of great indie games on Switch but the portability means nothing to me personally, and I can play all those games on PC cheaper and a lot of them actually do run slightly worse on Switch. So without that it's basically just a Nintendo first party machine again.

Gotta say, the Detroit Spoiler Mode was disappointing. I understand that E3 took all the time that was available, but especially Huber had forgotten a lot about Detroit. Thank god for Bloodworth and his notes though, they made it an OK Spoiler Mode. Hopefully the next one can be discussed a bit fresher after the experience so people still remember the game.

Haven't watched the Detroit one yet, but Jones announced on Cup of Jones today the next one they're doing is for Ant-Man and The Wasp, and their goal (at least when they do movies) is to see it opening weekend and get the Spoiler Mode done ASAP.

PSA for anyone in the UK: Ant-Man and The Wasp has been delayed until August because of the World Cup. Not that anyone at EZA would spoil anything, but worth being aware of it going into the month of July on social media.

Yes, I remember people harassing Marcus Beer because they thought he was being rude to poor Kyle before that and them having to appear on screen together to assure people they were just joking. Through The Final Bosman he gave off a somewhat angelic image of this little honest guy who could do no wrong.

Then I heard his disdain for ALTTP and Bioshock and was caught off guard quite a bit. Now we are all used to crazy, "what the hell is he saying, how dares he" Kyle.

Yeah, I made a note of it in the Patreon description. One of those growing pains now that we're starting to do these more regularly. I had it stuck in my head that we needed three people, and by the time it became clear that it would be better for just the two of us to get it done, E3 was heavily on top of us.

Completely understandable under the circumstances. I also think that this Spoiler Mode proved that even two allies speaking freely can be mighty entertaining. So IMHO don't be afraid of doing SMs with fewer allies available if it has to be done that way.

Yeah and also a cool thing about buying on PC is that those games will look and/or run better as time goes and you upgrade your stuff because it's the same library for all your devices. It's a big part of why I've been buying and even re-buying games on PC after getting into it a few years ago.

I really hope Movie spoiler mode won't take the spot for an entire month. That would be a bummer, they did it with Infinity War. Hopefully it was only for that month.

I love Yakuza 0 (and the series), it's one of my favorite games I have played this gen, but I am not sure if it should be in the HOG after such a short amount of time. I don't feel like it has proven itself yet. I obviously won't be mad if it gets in, but I think there are a lot of other games that deserve to get in before Yakuza 0.

I mean this sincerely, Don needs to bring Trials to Hall of Greats. I think he could grab a few votes, especially from Jones. I love the trials series. My favorite is probably still Trials HD as it was the first Trials game I really played a lot (I have played Trials 2 a couple of times back in the day, but I didn't seriously played it for a good amount of time). It really made me love the series instead of just something I enjoyed playing for a couple of minutes. I played the Inferno track in Trials HD every day for months just to get better and went from failing it the first 3 times (either over 30 minutes or 500 faults) to getting it with 3 faults and under 2 minutes if I remember correctly. It's also the game that learned me how to play Trials as I didn't have a lot of trouble with finishing any DLC or Full game since then (although some of the tracks were more difficult than others) (however some user created tracks (especially the Ninja tracks) are impossible for me, I am for sure not the best Trials player, search some youtube videos to be amazed as some of them are insanely good).

I think Trials Evolution is probably the one that deserves the most to get in the HOG if ever as it made the series much more popular and added a lot of extra possibilities in the editor (you can create a lot of different types of games with Trials Evolution (and Fusion)).

It's unfortunately also the one that's been recently removed from the Xbox store if I am not mistake, you can only get it on Steam anymore for some crazy reason (it's also not backwards compatible). I suspect Ubisoft has to do with this as they did the same with Tetris on the DS/3DS store when they released their own Tetris and the old games weren't released by Ubisoft, but by Microsoft Studios (so maybe it's MS, but Trials HD is still on there and is BC, so not sure what happened there).

I would love it if Don brings one of the trials games as they deserve all the airtime they can get, but it won't make it in by a long shot as there are plenty of other games that probably deserve it more.

It just came to me, where's EZA Clips? Are you guys discontinuing it? It's not even on the schedule. I'd be heart broken, it was such a great show!

EDIT: Nevermind, found it in the "also in the work" section.

Hall of Greats will be cool.

Anyone else watch Frame Trap?
Not sure why they jumped on Huber's switch "hot take" so to speak,
maybe honey moon wasn't the best word, but it was the word directly from the email, so that's why it was used.

But all the points he made made sense for his personal perspective.
And anyone who follows EZA knows he doesn't do handheld gaming ever when given the choice. (I usually don't either)
The point about the online skeptism and smash online have some credence.
He's likely to do multiplats on other systems. And 1st party hasn't been amazing this year so yea.

Oh poor Don. I really wish his games had more of a chance.

lol

These guys are about to put Metroid Prime in the HoG as the first FPS in there.

Producted and directed by Japanese people, but you have kind of a point there I guess!

I can't think of a better FPS than Metroid Prime, maybe DOOM 2016 and Counter Strike?

Anyways, we still don't know if it's winning.
